Indo Trinidad and Tobago Film and Cultural Forum Congratulates High Commission on Historic Visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Trinidad and Tobago |
New Delhi, 7th July 2025: The Indo Trinidad and Tobago Film and Cultural Forum, an initiative of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) in collaboration with the High Commission of Trinidad and Tobago in India, proudly extends its heartiest congratulations to the people and leadership of Trinidad and Tobago on the historic visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi to their nation.
During his official visit, Prime Minister Modi met H.E. Christine Kangaloo, President of Trinidad and Tobago, at the President’s House. In a moment of immense pride for India, Prime Minister Modi was conferred with “The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago”, the country’s highest civilian honour. Accepting the award with humility, the Prime Minister remarked, “I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition. I accept this award not for myself, but on behalf of 140 crore Indians. It is a testament to the enduring friendship between our two nations.”
This recognition marks a defining moment in Indo-Caribbean relations, and reflects the growing global stature of India and the deep cultural, historical, and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
