Noida, India: Dr. Sandeep Marwah expressed his gratitude and pride on being honoured with the prestigious “N. B. Excellence Award for Tourism & Hospitality”, recognizing his pioneering contribution to the promotion and development of tourism through media, culture, and education.
Recollecting his visionary journey, Dr. Marwah stated that 34 years ago he introduced the concept and terminology of “Film & Cultural Tourism”, which later became an integral part of global tourism discourse. He emphasized that this vision has translated into remarkable achievements, with Noida Film City recording an unprecedented footfall of over 9 crore visitors, while Marwah Studios has welcomed more than 30 lakh visitors from 156 countries, creating an international record in cultural and creative tourism.
Highlighting the role of education in strengthening the tourism and hospitality sector, Dr. Marwah shared that the AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism has emerged as a leading institution, playing a significant role in the education and professional training of young aspirants, who are now contributing to the industry worldwide.
Dr. Marwah further added that sustained promotion through media has been a key pillar of this success. Numerous programs dedicated to tourism, culture, and hospitality are regularly broadcast on Radio Noida 107.4 FM, Radio Raipur 88.4 FM, and Radio Mumbai (online), along with continuous content on the OTT platform MSTV, ensuring wide national and international outreach.
The honour, he said, reaffirms his commitment to further strengthening tourism and hospitality through innovation, education, and global cultural exchange.
