Indo–Russia Film Summit Celebrates President Vladimir Putin’s Historic Visit; ICMEI Strengthens Creative Cooperation with Russian Film Industry

New Delhi, Hotel Shangri-La — In a landmark gathering organized to honour the historic visit of H.E. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, the Indo–Russian Film and Cultural Forum hosted the Indo–Russia Film Summit, bringing together some of the most influential filmmakers, producers, and creative leaders from Russia and India.

Addressing this distinguished assembly in his capacity as Chair of the Indo–Russian Film and Cultural Forum, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and ICMEI, extended a powerful message of cultural harmony and cinematic partnership. He applauded the exceptional creative accomplishments of the Russian film community and emphasized the tremendous opportunities for collaboration between the two nations.

The Russian delegation comprised leading figures from the world of cinema and media, including:

In his keynote address, Dr. Marwah presented an impressive statistical overview of the Indian film industry, highlighting its global outreach, vast production volume, vibrant regional sectors, and its expanding influence in world cinema.

To deepen Indo–Russian creative ties, Dr. Marwah announced a wide range of collaborative opportunities, including: AAFT Scholarships for Russian film students to study in India; Dedicated time slots for Russian content on Radio Noida, Radio Mumbai, and Radio Raipur; Special programs on MSTV for Russian filmmakers and artists; A Russian Film Festival at Marwah Studios to showcase contemporary and classic cinema; An open invitation for all visiting filmmakers to collaborate, shoot, study, and create through the world-class facilities of Marwah Studios.

Dr. Marwah reaffirmed the shared vision of Love, Peace, and Unity Through Art and Culture, praising India and Russia’s longstanding friendship and the power of cinema as a bridge between nations. The Indo–Russia Film Summit concluded with renewed enthusiasm, setting the stage for stronger ties, new joint ventures, and a vibrant future of Indo–Russian cultural collaboration.
