9th Global Fashion & Design Week 2025 Sets Unmatched Global Benchmark at Marwah Studios

Noida, India – The 9th Global Fashion & Design Week, orchestrated by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) in association with AAFT School of Fashion & Design, truly lived up to its title as the biggest fashion week ever held by any educational institution in the world.

Held at the iconic Marwah Studios, Film City Noida, the event was an extraordinary celebration of global creativity, culture, and couture. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Festival President and Chancellor of AAFT University, congratulated the entire organizing team for delivering an international-standard fashion spectacle in India’s creative capital. “Design is the soul of civilization. Through this global platform, we celebrate diversity, innovation, and cultural pride,” said Dr. Marwah in his inaugural remarks.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by H.E. Benedikt Hoskuldsson, Ambassador of Iceland to India, who lit the ceremonial lamp and officially declared the event open. “This festival represents the best of international collaboration in design and education,” said the Ambassador.

Guests of Honour included: Fatimata Kane Haidara, Wife of the Ambassador of Senegal, Alfredo Caldera, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Venezuela, Dr. Faridoddin Faridasr, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Iran, and Yanytzel Karina Duarte, Second Secretary, Embassy of Panama

The event also welcomed eminent personalities from the design and hospitality industries:
Gaurav Arora (Co-Founder, Markek Craft), Chef Vikram Shokeen, Chef Dr. Kunal Seth, Chef Srinath Sampath, Architect Divya Bhatt, Architect Purvi Singhal, Annika Passii (Country Manager, The Warehouse Group), Sonia Khanna (Impulse), Shubham Gandhi (Fashion Designer), and Consultant Nakul Wali from Ireland.

The AAFT fashion showcase was a mesmerizing blend of heritage, imagination, and global aesthetics. Some of the standout collections included: Ethnic Wear from India by Ankit and Yashi, Traditional Wear from Iran by Shagun, Beach Wear inspired by Panama by Shalu, Fusion Wear for the Republic of Comoros by Amrita Kumari, Avant Garde fashion inspired by Venezuela by Sukriti, Casual Wear representing Zimbabwe by Sanjeet and Chanchal, Elegant Evening Wear from Senegal by Anurag, Sneha, and Nidhi,and Evening Wear representing Venezuela by Mansi Kumari

Each design was a tribute to the rich cultural identity of the respective country, blending local motifs with global trends. The young designers of AAFT displayed immense creativity, technical skill, and global sensibility—setting a high bar for student-led fashion presentations worldwide.

The 9th Global Fashion & Design Week is not just a festival—it is a movement, placing Noida at the epicenter of international fashion education and cultural diplomacy. With the participation of nearly 90 countries, the event has once again proven AAFT’s leadership in shaping the global creative landscape.

Noida, India – The much-anticipated 9th Global Fashion & Design Week 2025, organized by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) in collaboration with AAFT School of Fashion and Design, AAFT School of Interior Design, and AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism, was inaugurated today with unmatched vibrancy and international flair at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.

This year’s edition stands as the largest fashion and design celebration ever hosted by an educational institution globally, with a record-breaking participation from 90 countries. Nearly 50 countries walked the ramp, showcasing diverse and culturally rich garments, while 125 uniquely curated furniture design pieces from 80 nations adorned two expansive halls, stunning the visitors with global creativity.

The week-long celebration is also showcasing an impressive range of exhibitions, including fashion installations, interior design innovations, photography displays, coffee table books, culinary presentations, art exhibits, and a grand food festival, celebrating global aesthetics and gastronomy.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the Festival and Chancellor of AAFT University, in his keynote address, said: “Design is not just visual—it is a reflection of culture, thought, and innovation. This platform is a powerful representation of global unity through design and creativity.”

The ceremonial lamp was lit by H.E. Benedikt Hoskuldsson, Ambassador of Iceland to India, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He remarked: “This festival is a magnificent example of how fashion and design can unite nations and celebrate identity and innovation on a single platform.”

Special guests included: Fatimata Kane Haidara, wife of the Ambassador of Senegal, who spoke on the cultural richness of African design. Alfredo Caldera, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Venezuela, emphasized on the evolving fashion narrative in Latin America. Dr. Faridoddin Faridasr, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Iran, highlighted Iran’s contribution to traditional textiles and contemporary aesthetics. Yanytzel Karina Duarte, Second Secretary, Embassy of Panama, shared Panama’s artistic legacy and modern fashion integration.

Prominent industry leaders and experts also graced the occasion: Gaurav Arora, Co-founder & Head, Market Craft, Chef Vikram Shokeen, Chef Dr. Kunal Seth, and Chef Srinath Sampath enthralled food lovers with culinary artistry. Renowned architects Divya Bhatt and Purvi Singhal discussed sustainable design innovations. Annika Passii, Country Manager at The Warehouse Group, offered global retail perspectives. Influential names like Sonia Khanna (Impulse), Shubham Gandhi (Fashion Designer), and Nakul Wali from Ireland also lent their voices to the event.

The highlight of the day included the Great Craft Market and launch of the Coffee Table Book “Chakras Fashion” – a visionary project by young designer Priyanshi Jain, capturing the spirit of design through the lens of Indian chakra philosophy.

Noida, India – In a spellbinding evening that touched every heart, the exceptionally talented musical duo Puja Mehra Gupta and Rajiv Gupta delivered a mesmerizing live performance at AAFT School of Music, Marwah Studios, Film City Noida, leaving the audience in awe with their harmonious blend of melody and emotion. The event was designed by International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chancellor of AAFT University and President of Marwah Studios, who emphasized the profound power of music in fostering peace, unity, and emotional well-being. “Music transcends boundaries—it connects souls, heals hearts, and inspires greatness,” said Dr. Marwah while inaugurating the program.
