World Photography Day Celebrated at Marwah Studios with Poster Launch

Noida, India — “What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.” With this thought, Marwah Studios, Film City Noida, celebrated World Photography Day with great enthusiasm and creativity.

The celebration was marked by the launch of a special poster by Charuvi Agrawal, Immersive Artist & Animation Director, and Ranjit Singh, Creative Producer & Animation Director, in the presence of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sandeep Marwah emphasized the significance of still photography in the world of visual arts. “Still photography is not just about freezing a frame; it is about preserving emotions, history, and culture for eternity. It is one of the most powerful forms of expression, bridging the gap between reality and memory,” he remarked.

The event brought together faculty, students, and professionals from the AAFT School of Still Photography and Visual Arts, highlighting the importance of photography as both an art form and a medium of social documentation.

The celebration concluded with an engaging interaction where students shared their perspectives on photography as a career and a passion, further reinforcing Marwah Studios’ commitment to nurturing creativity and visual storytelling.

Noida: The power of a photograph to encapsulate a moment, emotion, or story is unparalleled. Capturing the essence of this sentiment, the 12th Global Festival of Journalism commenced with the inauguration of a captivating photography exhibition by the students of AAFT School of Still Photography. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries and renowned media personalities, marking a significant celebration of the International Day of Journalism.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the 12th Global Festival of Journalism, emphasized the timeless nature of photography, stating, “Photographs are the everlasting memories. You don’t take a photograph, you make it. Great photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field. The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.”

The event witnessed the esteemed presence of His Excellency Dr. Ali Achoui, Ambassador of Algeria to India, and Her Excellency Dillah Lucienne, Ambassador of the Republic of Chad, among other distinguished guests including Faya F Millimouno from the Embassy of Guinea and Abu A Jazer, Media Advisor at the Embassy of Palestine. Additionally, Lt. General Anil Malik and Rekha Jha graced the occasion with their presence.

Highlighting the significance of journalism in today’s world, notable media personalities Ranjana Singh Rathore from News Nation, Jaspreet Kaur from News 18 India, and Sumit Chaudhary from TV 9 shared their insights, emphasizing the importance of truthful and impactful storytelling.

The event was made possible through the support of various organizations including the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), World Peace Development and Research Foundation (WPDRF), Asian Unity Alliance, and AAFT University.

The exhibition underscored the fundamental significance of still photography in creative education and highlighted its integration into various courses offered at the esteemed AAFT group of Institutions, encompassing Cinema, journalism, fashion, animation, advertising, and more.

Emile Mwepesi, Second Secretary at the High Commission of Rwanda, and Alfredo Caldera, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Venezuela, esteemed guests at the event, graced the occasion and inaugurated the exhibition. Mwepesi applauded the importance of still photography as a powerful means of storytelling and artistic expression. Caldera emphasized the crucial role of still photography in capturing the essence of diverse cultures and societies.
