AAFT University Join Hands with CINTAA for Promotion of Acting

Raipur: “Acting is the performance and representation of the facts close to reality. It is the most fascinating art human mind has discovered. Now for ages people have been enjoying this art in different forms be it a theatre, television or cinema. An organisation like CINTAA-Cinema & TV Artists Association has added a lot to the establishment of acting as a career,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University in the webinar to know more about the activities of CINTA.

“CINTAA has been created to nurture a feeling of fraternity and unity among its members and to regulate their professional relations with their employers; To promote and encourage high standards of professional conduct and integrity amongst its members and to enhance their skills by holding paid workshops at subsidized rates, To mediate in professional disputes between members and producers, directors, studios, TV networks, web networks, employers, etc. arising out of any breach or dispute of the terms of their contracts or agreements, with a view to settle them. And o Endeavour to provide aid against sickness and injury, unemployment, infirmity, old age and death to its members,” explained by Amit Behl Senior Joint Secretary and Chairman Outreach Committee of CINTAA.

Present on the occasion renown actor Rajeshwari Sachdev Joint Secretary CINTAA, Deepak Kejriwal & Neetu Kohli member executive Committee CINTAA also expressed the role of CINTAA in actor’s life. The webinar was followed by another  session to answer student’s questions.  Soon CINTAA and AAFT will sign MOU to work together in many other fields related to Cinema & TV acting. Ashok Tyagi Secretary General ICMEI- International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry conducted the program.

Government Is Concerned About Cinema Employees



New Delhi. A powerful delegation of Film Industry led by BN Tiwari - President FWICE- Federation of Western India Cine Employees, comprising of Ashok Dubey- Hon.Gen. Secretary FWICE, Wasim Qureshi-Treasurer FWICE, Sharad Shelar-President CCMAHDA, Gangeshwarlal Shrivastav-Gen. Secretary FSSAMU, Sushant Singh-Gen. Secretary CINTAA- Cinema and Television Actors Association, Peer Zada Saheb-Legal Advisor, Ashok Tyagi-Sec Gen ICMEI and Sandeep Marwah-President ICMEI-International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry attended a joint meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Labour under the Chairmanship of Dr. Kirit Somaiya MP on 18th January at Parliament Annexe to discuss the working conditions of cine employees, their safety, social security etc as per provisions of law.

  It was unanimously resolved that a rule book must be written and brought under the law   for the working conditions and safety of the workers and technicians for the Entire Media and Entertainment Industry including Television and Digital media and it shall inter-alia contain measures for the safety of the cine and television employees including their social security,  safety of women employees  and for humane working conditions for women and  child artistes.

Chief Labour Commissioner of India Jai Kumar Sagar and Dy. Labour Commissioner Govt of Maharashtra Mr. Vilas Buwa along with Mr. Doke - Registrar Trade Union Mumbai and Mr. Aashish Parmar- Representative of the Broadcasters were also present in the meeting along with other senior officers of the Government.

Since most of the cine employees’ work on contract basis, it was decided that the Act shall also contain model contracts and shall bring all the contractual cine employees under the purview of labour and employment laws in force in India.

“This is for the first time that the Government of India has taken an active interest in the welfare of the Cine and Television Employees.  Dr. Kirit Somaiya and The Federation of Western India Cine Employees and its office bearers deserve full credit for this achievement. ICMEI will support the cause,” said Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry.
