Bharat Mahotsav at Zurich Switzerland


Zurich: Delhi based organisation Confluence under the leadership of Smita and Amitabh Srivastava celebrated 75 years of India’s Independence influenced by Prime Minister’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Zurich in Switzerland and impressed the swiss audience with the electrifying cultural programs.

The NGO has been organising these kinds of programs at different cities of India and abroad earlier also to highlight the history and culture of India. “The objective of the Zurich event was to promote the brand, Bharat, overseas and to hail the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat,” said Smita Srivastava founder and Chairperson of Confluence.

The event had several elements including Bharat Gaurav Samman (Award for Leadership and Excellence in different categories), Swadeshi Manch (Cultural extravaganza), Swadeshi Wellness by health and wellness Guru Dr Mickey Keki Mehta, Swadeshi Connect (B2B Meeting) followed by Indian dance performances and Swadeshi Parade- fashion shows by designers Rina Dhaka, Simran Ahuja and Smita.

“The crucial differences which distinguish human societies and human beings are not biological. They are cultural and in fact  cultural differences should not separate us from each other, but rather cultural diversity brings a collective strength that can benefit all of humanity,’ said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts at the opening of the session at Hotel Hyatt Zurich.

KS Kochhar, Rakesh Sonkar, Ruby Bakshi Khurdi, Dr Mickey Keki Mehta, Rina Dhaka, Rahul Sonkar, Parveen Rani, Mahender Singh C Jadeja attended the grand function. The event was supported by Indo Swiss Film and Cultural Forum of ICMEI. 

The entire team of Confluence was overwhelmed on receiving virtual good wishes from  Meenakashi Lekhi Honourable Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture. In her message, she appreciated the initiatives by the NGO in organising cultural, business-oriented and knowledge exchange programmes.

AAFT School of Fashion And Design Marked Presence In London


Nine Designers From AAFT School of Fashion And Design


London: AAFT School of Fashion And Design stole the lime light at the fashion extravaganza organized on the third day of Bharat Conclave by Confluence- Unification of Skills, Talents and Leadership on the occasion of 150 years celebration of Mahatma Gandhi at Hotel Copthorne Tara Kensigton at London, UK.

The event was inaugurated by the first lady of Maharashtra Amruta Fadnavis wife of Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis along with beauty of Indian Cinema Karishma Kapoor, popular Indian film star Sanjay Kapoor, Designer Reena Marwah, Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios and Smita Srivastava of Bharat Conclave in the presence of jam-packed hall of the hotel.

The nine designers of AAFT were representing the style and collection especially designed for the occasion under the guidance of Director Ritu Lal. The audience was astonished to see the well-prepared collection of young designers who were also part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Campaign Make In India - Khadi India and New India.

“My collection is not just looking for pretty clothes but a soul or a story in which they wear a strong Indian identity, aesthetics & a conscience & hence Gandhi,” said Dipti Tripathi. “Fashion is not simply a matter of clothing, fashion is air born upon the wind, one intuits it, so is khadi there is nothing that can beat the feel of Indian hand spun fabrics,” added Yukti Gupta.

“This colorful collection are made up of eco friendly colors with draped saree Indian traditional look,” expressed Mayank Bharti. “My collection of back-to-basics, inspired from khadi & sustainable fashion, has been brought up to present Gandhi's introduction to an Independent India,” said Pramarthi Sukhija.

“My inspiration was to showcase bright and saint India,” believed Phankhuri Agarwal. ”I had shown the British times the colors were taken from the Indian struggles,” mentioned Palak Singh “the idea was to show the sad and dull India at the time of freedom fights showing the change during that course,” considered Runita Malhotra.

“ “The collection that i have present is all about the positivity that was inspired from "The Scarab". It is a distinctive mash-up of soft pastels, warm blush tones. Playing with the tones of pink in throughout the collection growing developing India,” said Itika Jain.

“My inspiration was positivity which was shown in terms of bright colours and flowers, Which Gandhi ji had thought for the independent India, The Collection shows the happy and green India,” said Shivi Agarwal.

London: A delegation from India along with dignities from London attended the formal inauguration of Celebration of 150years of Mahatma Gandhi designed by Confluence-2  in association with International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry at Indian High Commission, London, UK.

“Good thinking and good feelings can lead to good work and your noble karmas can change the world. This was the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi and I believe in this. Lets pray God to give us strength to work honestly for humanity,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios addressing who’s who of London.

“Mahatma Gandhi is one of the most popular leaders of the World. Today if you look into the popularity, the largest number of books has been published on this man. Gandhi has the largest number of statues on this earth. What he said 100 years back is still valid in the field of Humanity, Peace, Simple Living High Thinking, Vegetarianism, Patriotism, Women Empowerment, Environment etc.” added Dr. Marwah in his speech.
