ICMEI Celebrates Croatia National Day at Marwah Studios

Noida, 25th June 2025: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) marked the National Day of the Republic of Croatia with warmth and enthusiasm at Marwah Studios, Noida. The event reflected ICMEI’s ongoing commitment to promoting cultural ties and fostering bilateral relations through art and media.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder of Noida Film City and President of ICMEI, extended his sincere congratulations to His Excellency Petar Ljubicic, Ambassador of Croatia to India, and to the people of Croatia on the occasion of their National Day, celebrated annually on 25th June.

“Croatia is a country with a rich cultural legacy and vibrant traditions. We at ICMEI deeply value our association with Croatia and look forward to further enriching our cultural partnership,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah.

The Indo Croatia Film and Cultural Forum, initiated under the banner of ICMEI, has actively participated in various cultural and media-based initiatives. However, Dr. Marwah emphasized the need for deeper engagement and closer cooperation with the Embassy of Croatia to further enhance the frequency and impact of collaborative activities.

“We are enthusiastic about exploring new opportunities for joint ventures in cinema, literature, journalism, education, and tourism, and we welcome greater involvement from the Croatian Embassy to realize these goals,” Dr. Marwah added.

ICMEI remains dedicated to using creative industries as a means of international friendship, mutual understanding, and shared growth.

New Delhi: Renowned film and media personality, Sandeep Marwah, recently met with the former President of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, to discuss art and culture. During their meeting, they emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and explored ways to strengthen cultural ties between India and Croatia.

Marwah shared his experiences of promoting cultural diplomacy through film festivals, art exhibitions, and other cultural events. He also discussed the role of media and entertainment in fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

Grabar-Kitarović expressed her admiration for India’s rich cultural heritage and emphasized the need for greater collaboration between Indian and Croatian artists and cultural institutions. She also shared her vision for using cultural diplomacy as a means of promoting peace and harmony in the world.

The meeting between Sandeep Marwah and Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is expected to pave the way for closer cultural ties between India and Croatia. By fostering greater understanding and appreciation of each other’s cultures, the two countries can build strong and lasting bonds of friendship and cooperation.

Peter Ljubicic Ambassador of Croatia to India,  Director General of Indian Council for Cultural Relations Ambassador Kumar Tuhin, former Indian Ambassador to Croatia, Deputy Director General ICCR Rajeev Kumar, Senior Programme Director Kamal Jit Singh, and Joint Secretary Ministry of External Affairs Ravi Shankar were also present there.

ICMEI Celebrated National Day of Croatia


Sandeep Marwah Congratulated Ambassador of Croatia on National Day

New Delhi: “I on behalf of Indian Media and Entertainment Industry and Art & Culture Fraternity of India take this opportunity to extend my heartiest congratulations to H.E. Peter Ljubicic Ambassador of Croatia  to India and people of Croatia on the occasion of National Day which falls on 25th June,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry celebrating the day at Chamber.

Diplomatic relations between two countries were officially established on 9 July 1992 following Croatia’s independence from SFR Yugoslavia. However, Croatia has had a colonial past with India, through the state of Goa, stretching back 400 years. India recognized Croatia in May 1992 and established diplomatic relations with it on 9 July 1992. Croatia opened its resident mission at New Delhi in February 1995. The Indian Mission in Zagreb was opened on 28 April 1996, and upgraded to Ambassadorial level in January 1998.

Soon we will be requesting the Ambassador to formally inaugurate a committee under the name and banner of Indo Croatia Film And Cultural Forum to start developing people to people relation at a grass root level through arts and culture added Dr. Sandeep Marwah.
