ICMEI and AAFT Award Scholarship to Equatorial Guinea Student

New Delhi: Strengthening the bond of cultural and educational collaboration between India and Equatorial Guinea, the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) offered a prestigious AAFT Scholarship to a deserving student from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

This announcement comes as part of the newly formed Indo-Equatorial Guinea Film and Cultural Forum (IEGFCF), chaired by Dr. Sandeep Marwah. The scholarship was formally presented by Dr. Marwah to H.E. Manuel Mbela Bama Ndong, Ambassador of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to India, at a special ceremony.

The scholarship will enable the selected student to pursue a short-term, three-month course at the Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) in Noida, India. In addition to tuition, the scholarship includes complimentary boarding and lodging for the duration of the course, ensuring a holistic learning experience for the recipient.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair of IEGFCF and President of Marwah Studios, emphasized the role of education and cultural exchange in strengthening international relations. “This initiative is a step toward bridging cultural and educational gaps between India and Equatorial Guinea. We are committed to fostering talent and creating opportunities for students from around the world,” said Dr. Marwah.

Expressing his gratitude, H.E. Manuel Mbela Bama Ndong, Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea, commended the ICMEI and AAFT for their efforts in promoting international collaboration. “This scholarship reflects the deepening relationship between our two nations and the shared commitment to empowering youth through education. It is an excellent opportunity for our students to gain exposure and benefit from India’s expertise in media and entertainment education,” said the Ambassador.

The Indo-Equatorial Guinea Film and Cultural Forum was recently established to promote mutual understanding and collaboration in the fields of film, art, and culture. This scholarship marks a significant milestone in the forum’s efforts to create impactful opportunities for both nations.

New Delhi,15th January 2025: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, founder of Noida Film City, and Chancellor of AAFT University, has been nominated as the Chair of the newly formed Indo-Equatorial Guinea Film and Cultural Forum. The announcement was made by H.E. Manuel Mbela Bama Ndong, Ambassador of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to India, at a special event held at the Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in New Delhi. The event was organized in association with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI).
