New Delhi, March 17, 2025 — A special celebration of St. Patrick’s Day was hosted at the residence of H.E. Mr. Kevin Kelly, Ambassador of Ireland to India, marking a significant occasion for cultural exchange between India and Ireland. The event saw the presence of Mr. James Lawless T.D., Ireland’s Minister of State for Education, Research, Innovation and Science, and Mr. Jayant Chaudhary, India’s Minister of State for Education.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) and Chair of the Indo-Ireland Film and Cultural Forum emphasized the growing bond between the two countries through art, cinema, and education.

“Culture builds bridges and connects hearts. The Indo-Ireland Film and Cultural Forum continues to work as a catalyst for strengthening ties through meaningful collaborations,” said Dr. Marwah.

The event celebrated Irish heritage while highlighting the importance of cultural diplomacy in modern international relations. Plans were discussed for future joint ventures in film, education, and cultural exchange programs. The evening concluded with traditional Irish music, symbolizing friendship and shared values between India and Ireland.

Noida: As part of the Irish Film Festival of India, a special workshop was conducted for students of cinema and acting at the Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) by renowned Irish actor and filmmaker, Siraj Zaidi. The festival, organized by the Indo-Ireland Film and Cultural Forum in association with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, took place at Marwah Studios in Noida Film City, providing a platform for cultural exchange and artistic growth.

Siraj Zaidi, who has had an illustrious career spanning over 40 years, was specially invited to India to conduct this workshop. As a prominent figure in the Irish and Indian film industries, Zaidi brought a wealth of experience, having fostered cultural relations between India and Ireland through numerous artistic collaborations. Notably, he also serves as the Director of the Indian Film Festival of Ireland, which recently celebrated its 15th successful edition in Dublin.

In the workshop, Zaidi shared insights into his journey as an actor and filmmaker, emphasizing the deep cultural connection between India and Ireland. He spoke about the evolution of cinema in both countries, highlighting the impact of storytelling as a bridge between diverse cultures. His engaging and informative session covered various aspects of international cinema, offering students a unique perspective on acting techniques, filmmaking nuances, and the importance of cultural representation in cinema.

The students of AAFT were captivated by Zaidi’s passion and expertise, and they found his practical advice invaluable for their own careers in the film industry. Zaidi’s discussion on Indo-Ireland relations, especially through the lens of art and culture, inspired attendees to explore cross-cultural storytelling in their own creative pursuits.

“It is a privilege to learn from an artist of Siraj Zaidi’s caliber, especially in such a personal and interactive setting,” expressed one of the students. “This workshop has broadened our understanding of international cinema and the unique relationship between India and Ireland. Noida: – In a special ceremony held at Marwah Studios, H.E. Kevin Kelly, Ambassador of Ireland to India, appreciated Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, for his outstanding contribution to fostering strong cultural and diplomatic ties between India and Ireland.

Dr. Marwah, who was earlier appointed as the Chair of the Indo-Ireland Film and Cultural Forum by H.E. Brendan Ward, former Ambassador of Ireland to India, has been instrumental in promoting collaboration between the two nations through cultural exchange, education, and film initiatives.

During the event, H.E. Kevin Kelly presented Dr. Marwah with a Certificate of Appreciation, recognizing his untiring efforts over the past three years to enhance the Indo-Irish relationship. Bloomsday Celebrated at Irish Embassy

New Delhi: The Irish Embassy in India celebrated Bloomsday, an annual tribute to the renowned Irish writer James Joyce and his iconic novel Ulysses, on 16th June. The event was graced by the presence of H.E. Brendan Ward, the Ambassador of Ireland to India.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, the Chair for the Indo Ireland Film and Cultural Forum, highlighted the potential for India and Ireland to forge and strengthen their relationship through art and culture. He emphasized the role of literature in fostering understanding and connection between nations.

Ambassador Brendan Ward, in his welcome address, encouraged attendees to cultivate a love for reading and advocated for the establishment of libraries, as books are the greatest companions one can have. He emphasized that Bloomsday is not only a day of celebration but also an occasion to honor and value literature.

New Delhi: On the successful completion of first Irish Film Festival of India a great gala dinner was organised by the Embassy of Ireland in India hosted by H.E. Brendan Ward Ambassador of Ireland to India to bring more colours to the extravaganza.

We have done it, many people may be still just thinking of organising a festival of films from Ireland, we have already created another IFFI for Delhi. Four films, seminars, and now a wonderful get-together has given a complete look to the new born festival,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Chair for Indo Ireland Film and Cultural Forum.

Large number of film makers including Siraj Zaidi from Ireland, Actor & Writer Atul Tiwari from Mumbai, Actor & Producer Nilesh Malhotra from Mumbai, Actor Megna Malik from Mumbai, Ambassadors and High Commissioners, Diplomats including Deputy Head of Embassy of Cyprus, Ambassador of Argentina, Deputy Head of Embassy of Sweden, Deputy Head from Embassy of Crocia were also present there.

“It was a great show, we have created a property, and I am thankful to Marwah Studios for their untiring cooperation and contribution,” thanked H.E. Brendan Ward Ambassador of Ireland to India.
