He has been in producing, directing , acting in cinema now for a long time. His involvement with Cinema is now almost forty years.

Dublin, 6th October 2024: In a momentous event at the India Film Festival of Ireland (IFFI), Dr. Sandeep Marwah, a towering figure in the global film, television, and media industry, was honored with the prestigious title of “Global Media Scientist.” This recognition, awarded by the Board of the India Film Festival of Ireland, acknowledges Dr. Marwah’s extraordinary contributions and trailblazing initiatives in the field of media under the leadership of Festival Director Siraj Zaidi.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, a man of many firsts, has left an indelible mark on the global media landscape. He is the visionary behind Noida Film City—the first-ever film city in North India—and the founder of Marwah Studios, the region’s first professional film studio. His achievements continue with the founding of the Asian Academy of Film & TV (AAFT), India’s first private film school, and AAFT University, the country’s first film-focused university.

Among his numerous pioneering initiatives, Dr. Marwah established the International Film and Television Club, the first film club of its kind, and the International Film and Television Research Centre, India’s first private film research center. His vision also brought to life the first Cinema Degree College and the first radio station in Noida—Radio Noida 107.4 FM. The list of his achievements extends far beyond, and his work continues to set new benchmarks in the world of media.

The title of “Global Media Scientist” is a fitting recognition for Dr. Marwah, who chairs 127 cultural organizations spanning 156 countries and has a direct outreach to over ten million people worldwide. As a cultural ambassador for 77 countries, he has fostered international cultural cooperation and produced over 3,600 short films, influencing the global narrative of film and media.

Dr. Marwah has been a mentor to over 30,000 students from 145 countries and continues to shape the future of the media industry with his innovative ideas. As a recipient of more than 1,200 international awards, his work and legacy have been celebrated across the globe.

Noida, India – October 2024: The ICMEI-Food Festival continued its celebration of global culinary delights during the 10th Global Literary Festival Noida 2024 with the presentation of authentic Irish cuisine at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida. The event was inaugurated by Tanvi Duggle, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Ireland, and featured a delightful menu designed and prepared by the talented students of the AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism.

New Delhi, India: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair of the Indo Ireland Film and Cultural Forum under the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), was a special invitee at the prestigious launch of the Ireland-India Affinity Diaspora Network. The event was hosted by H.E. Mr. Kevin Kelly, Ireland’s Ambassador to India, at the Embassy of Ireland on September 11. The launch of the network is aimed at strengthening ties between Indian professionals and alumni who have worked or studied in Ireland.

In his address, Dr. Marwah congratulated Ambassador Kelly for this significant gesture, expressing his appreciation for the initiative that will bring together Irish and Indian communities. He further highlighted that there are approximately 550 Irish citizens living in India, showcasing the growing bond between both nations.

New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chair for Indo Ireland Film and Cultural Forum congratulated the visiting Minister from Ireland Roderic O’ Gorman Minister for Children Equality Integration and Youth, Government of Ireland, and H.E. Bredan Ward Ambassador of Ireland to India on the celebration of St. Patricks Day and Hundred years of Ireland. The event aimed to celebrate Irish culture and heritage, as well as to strengthen diplomatic ties between Ireland and India.

St Patrick’s Day on 17th March is the biggest day in Ireland ‘s cultural calendar and a national holiday with a host of events throughout Ireland and all over the World in celebration of the nation’s patron saint.

The Ambassador of Ireland emphasized the importance of diplomatic relations between Ireland and India. He highlighted the shared values and interests of the two countries, such as a commitment to democracy, human rights, and sustainable development. He also spoke about the potential for increased trade and investment between Ireland and India, and encouraged greater collaboration in areas such as education, research, and innovation.

Chief Guest of the day Meenakshi Lekhi Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of India attended the event and said that Patrick’s Day is a celebration of Irish culture and a reminder of the importance of diplomacy in promoting, understanding, and cooperation, between nations.

Brendan. Ward Ambassador of Ireland to India.

“We must have another show at Marwah Studios so that young generation can relate the relation between two countries and contribution of Irish lady in Indian History,” added Dr. Marwah also Chair for Indo Ireland Film and Cultural Forum.

“I welcome you to the screening of a very exclusive film, I am sure you will like it. I am also thankful to the members of the board of All India Women’s Conference for their gracious presence and bringing out this precious information through this film,” said H.E. Brendan Ward Ambassador of Ireland to India.

Margaret Elizabeth Cousins 7 November 1878 – 11 March 1954) was an Irish-Indian educationist, suffragist and theosophist who established All India Women’s Conference (AIWC) in 1927. She was the wife of poet and literary critic James Cousins,  with whom she moved to India in 1915. She is credited with preserving the tune of the Indian National Anthem Jana Gana Mana  based on the notes provided by Tagore himself in February 1919, during Rabindranath Tagore’s visit to the Madanapalle College. She was a member of the Flag Presentation Committee which presented the National Flag to the Constituent Assembly  on 14 August 1947.

Noida: The second day of IFFI- Irish Film Festival of India saw the deep discussions on different subjects related to creative arts including the respective films shown during the festival and history of Irish Film Industry by the dignities present on the occasion.

We are pleased to sanction a radio program on Radio Noida, and another program on MSTV on monthly basis for full one year which will not only highlight but will also promote relations between the two countries India & Ireland. We are also starting the preparation for the next edition of Irish Film Festival of India,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.

The Irish film industry has grown somewhat in recent years thanks partly to the promotion of the sector by Screen Ireland and the introduction of heavy tax breaks. According to the Irish Audio-visual Content Production Sector Review carried out by the Irish Film Board and PricewaterhouseCoopers, this sector, has gone from 1,000 people employed six or seven years ago, to well over 8,000 people in that sector now. Most films are produced in English  as Ireland is largely Anglophone, though some productions are made in Irish either wholly or partially informed Siraj Zaidi Producer, Director Actor from Ireland.

Some of the most successful Irish films include The Wind That Shakes The Barley (2006), Intermission  (2003), Man About Dog  (2004), Michael Collins (1996),Angela’s Ashes  (1999), The Commitments (1991), Once  (2007) and Notorius  (2017). Mrs Brown’s Boy D’ Movie  (2014) holds the record for the biggest gross on the opening day of an Irish film in Ireland. Notorious (2017) on the other hand holds the record for highest grossing Irish documentary of all time.

Exhibition of Paintings Inaugurated During Irish Film Festival of India

Noida: The first ever IFFI- Irish Film Festival of India was inaugurated at Marwah Studios. The hustle and bustle at the studios gave lots of energy to the festival. People specially flown from Ireland and different parts of the country were eager to enter the main hall of inauguration, not to miss the main part of festival.

Another major attraction was a colorful exhibition of paintings of Tanisha Bakshi at the new complex of Marwah Studios, where she was anxiously waiting for the formal inauguration of this great event.

The painting exhibition was inaugurated by H.E. Brendan Ward Ambassador of Ireland to India, Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios, Film Maker from Ireland Siraj Zaidi, Actor & Writer Atul Tiwari, Actor & Producer Nilesh Malhotra, former Ambassador of India to Ireland Sandeep Kumar, former Secretary Government of India & Chancellor of University Stuti Kacker.

“We have always believed that cinema and other fine arts & performing arts go together. With every festival we must have an exhibition of paintings. This time we have brought the concept of Mother and Child by Tanisha Bakshi. Indian films are also popular because of the importance of mother we have been depicting on big screen. This exhibition is the representation of the same,” expressed Dr. Sandeep Marwah introducing the artist.

“Through my artworks I want to show the real and unimaginable life of the people where all they have is a fragile economic condition but a very powerful blessing and that is an ounce of love. They do not have the luxuries, but they chose to be happy with what they have. “A mother’s love is Universal. And for me, her love is my biggest Inspiration! “ added Tanisha.

The exhibition will remain open for three days of the festival. The event was supported by Indo Ireland Film and Cultural Forum, International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry and World Peace Development and Research Foundation.
