New Delhi, November 18, 2025: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) conveyed its warmest congratulations to H.E. Mohamed Maliki, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to India, and to the people of Morocco on the joyous occasion of Morocco’s Independence Day, celebrated on 18th November.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI and Chair of the Indo–Morocco Film and Cultural Forum, expressed deep appreciation for Morocco’s enduring friendship with India and the continued support extended by the Embassy of Morocco in strengthening bilateral cultural ties.

Highlighting the vibrant partnership, Dr. Marwah noted, “Indo–Morocco Film and Cultural Forum has been an integral partner in all our major international initiatives. From the Global Film Festival, Global Fashion Week, and Global Festival of Journalism to the Global Literary Festival, International Documentary Film Festival, and Global Food Festival, Morocco has always been a valued and active collaborator. New Delhi, August 2, 2025: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), attended a grand reception hosted at Hotel Leela Palace to celebrate the 26th Anniversary of the Enthronement of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco. The event was hosted by H.E. Mohamed Maliki, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to India, along with Mrs. Mohamed Maliki.

On behalf of ICMEI and the Indo-Morocco Film and Cultural Forum, Dr. Marwah extended his warm congratulations to the Ambassador and the people of Morocco. “It is a privilege to celebrate this important occasion with our Moroccan friends. The cultural and diplomatic ties between India and Morocco continue to grow stronger through consistent efforts in art, education, media, and people-to-people engagement,” said Dr. Marwah.

The event witnessed a distinguished gathering of ambassadors, high commissioners, business leaders, artists, diplomats, and individuals from various walks of life, showcasing the warmth and strength of Morocco’s relationship with India.

The evening was further graced by Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Minister of State for Education, Government of India, who attended as the Chief Guest and expressed admiration for the growing Indo-Moroccan ties.

Indo-Morocco Film and Cultural Forum Showcases “Kankali” – A Moroccan Dream in Couture at 9th GFDW

Noida, India – May 31, 2025 – The Indo-Morocco Film and Cultural Forum (IMFCF), in proud association with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in India, brought a breathtaking wave of North African charm and sophistication to the ramp at the 9th Global Fashion and Design Week (GFDW) Noida 2025, held at the globally celebrated Marwah Studios, Noida Film City.

Touted as the largest academic fashion week in the world, GFDW 2025 is a celebration of international creativity, design innovation, and cultural diplomacy. The week-long fashion spectacle was organized by the Fashion Committee of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), in collaboration with the AAFT School of Fashion and Design and AAFT School of Interior Designing.

This year’s edition featured: Over 200 renowned designers, 550 exclusive fashion ensembles, 125 original interior installations, 9 grand fashion shows, 90 dynamic runway rounds, 6 curated exhibitions, and 9 immersive global food experiences

The festival was broadcast live on MSTV and Radio Noida, and received global attention from 600+ international media outlets.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair of the Indo-Morocco Film and Cultural Forum, expressed pride in the collaboration: “Fashion is a powerful medium to tell the stories of culture and legacy. Morocco’s influence on global aesthetics is timeless, and we are honoured to bring that legacy to life on the Indian ramp through GFDW.”

The showstopper moment from the Indo-Morocco participation was the unveiling of “Kankali” – an ethereal haute couture collection deeply inspired by Morocco’s colorful medinas, Moorish architecture, and artisanal legacy. Designed using luxurious net, satin, and organza, the collection presented graceful silhouettes, elegantly infused with Moroccan-inspired embroidery and motifs.

In hues of serene white, oceanic blue, and romantic pink, each garment from Kankali captured the delicate balance of romance and royalty, echoing the elegance of Moroccan palaces and desert evenings. The collection reimagined tradition for the contemporary woman, marrying old-world charm with modern couture craftsmanship.

Adding depth to the fashion narrative, a Moroccan-inspired furniture piece was also showcased during the design week. With ornate detailing, lattice woodwork, and rich earthy tones, the piece paid homage to Morocco’s globally admired interior and architectural heritage.

The Indo-Morocco Film and Cultural Forum’s participation once again highlighted the role of fashion as a bridge between nations—uniting design, diplomacy, and diversity on one global stage.

Noida, 13th February 2025 — The 13th Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC Noida 2025 proudly hosted a special screening of the Moroccan film “Sound of Berberia”, directed by the celebrated filmmaker Mohammed Kaghat. The screening, held at Marwah Studios, drew praise from both cinema lovers and dignitaries in attendance.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Festival President, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, welcomed the audience and shared his thoughts on the significance of cross-cultural cinematic exchange.
“Film is a universal language, and screenings like these bridge borders and bring cultures closer,” he stated.

The event was further enriched by the presence of key diplomats from the Embassy of Morocco: Kamal Marzouka, First Secretary, Embassy of Morocco, offered insights into the film’s cultural roots and artistic message. Said Kasmi, Minister of Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Morocco, spoke warmly about the strong and growing relations between India and Morocco, emphasizing the role of cinema and media in deepening bilateral ties.

In recognition of the film’s artistic excellence and cultural relevance, “Sound of Berberia” was honored with an Award of Distinction, presented by Sushil Bharti, Director Broadcasting, Marwah Studios.

The event was gracefully conducted by Mehak Zaidi, Assistant Professor at the AAFT School of Journalism & Mass Communication, who guided the proceedings with professionalism and warmth.

The screening marked a significant moment in the festival’s celebration of global cinema and reaffirmed the event’s status as a platform for international storytelling and media collaboration. The event was supported by Indo Morocco Film and Cultural Forum.

Noida, India – The International Film and Television Club (IFTC), in collaboration with the Indo-Morocco Film and Cultural Forum, proudly showcased the Moroccan cinematic masterpiece Le Clair Obscur, directed by Kaoula Assebab, at the 17th Global Film Festival held at Marwah Film City. The screening took place in a packed auditorium, reflecting the film’s universal appeal and its ability to captivate audiences across cultures.

Walid Hasbi, Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of Morocco, expressed his delight in presenting this exceptional work to the Indian audience. “Cinema is a profound medium for cultural exchange, and events like these strengthen the bond between nations,” he said.

Kamal Marzouka, First Secretary at the Embassy of Morocco, also shared his thoughts, stating, “Moroccan films reflect our heritage, creativity, and storytelling traditions. We are grateful for this opportunity to connect with global audiences.”

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, the visionary behind the festival, shared insights into the establishment of the Indo Morocco Film and Cultural Forum—a pioneering initiative in India dedicated to promoting cultural ties between India and Morocco through the medium of art and culture. Moroccan Film Ali Zaoua to Open 15th Global Film Festival Noida

Opening of Moroccan Film at 15th Global Film Festival Noida at Marwah Studios

Noida: “Let me take this wonderful opportunity to extend my heartiest congratulations to every one present here on the opening of film Ali Zaoua from Morocco as the first film of 15th Global Film Festival Noida 2022. The festival has been able to attract large number of films from all over World, whereas the purpose of the festival is to bring love, peace, and Unity through Cinema,” said Sandeep Marwah President of the festival in a jam-packed hall.

“It is our privilege to be part of this grand festival, being an opening film, it has added feather in the cap of cultural diplomacy. This is an award-winning film and I am sure all of you will love this cinema,” said Mehdi Boukourizia from Embassy of Morocco while lighting the lamp.

Ali Zaoua: Prince of the Streets is a 2000 Moroccan crime drama film that tells the story of several homeless boys living in Casablanca. It was awarded in the 2000 Stockholm Film Festival, Montreal World Film Festival  and in the 2000 Amiens International Film Festival. 

Ali Zaoua is a Moroccan film which reflects the pain of poverty, homelessness, child abuse and prostitution in Moroccan society. The film has been described as magical realism , in the sense of how the stark reality of the children’s lives interweaves with their rich fantasy life.

Said Hijri Councellor Embassy of Morocco, Dr. P.K.Rajput, Neha Singh Founder Friezeit Media also share their views on cinema. Later Sandeep Marwah presented all the dignities with the memento of the festival and an Award of Distinction to the Moroccan Film Ali Zaoua. The event was supported by Indo Morocco Film and Cultural Forum, International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry & AAFT University.
