First Indo-Senegal Joint Venture Short Film ‘The Debt-Price of Promise’ Completed

Noida, 15 August 2025:
 The first-ever Indo-Senegal joint venture short film “The Debt- Price of Promise” has been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone in cultural and cinematic collaboration between the two nations. The project was written and produced by renowned Senegalese creative Fatimata Kane Haidara and executed by the production team of Marwah Studios under the leadership of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair of the Indo-Senegal Film and Cultural Forum.

The short film was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sushil Bharti, with Keshav Dutt Joshi serving as Director of Photography and Arvind Yadav as Editor. The technical team included Kripal Negi, Kesar Singh Latwal, and Shubham Tanwar handling camera and lighting, while Ayushi and Anushka Rawat managed makeup and hairstyling. Production responsibilities were led by Viney Kumar Sabikhi.

The talented cast featured Kirti Narag, Hema Paul, Anurag Mishra, Ritik Dangwal, Priya Suryavanshi, Vidhi, along with Shubham Tanwar and Samriddhi Shrivastav delivering compelling performances.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah said, “This project is not just a film—it is a bridge of creativity and friendship between India and Senegal. Through cinema, we aim to deepen our cultural bonds and showcase the talent and vision both countries have to offer.”

“The Debt-Price of Promise” is a testament to the growing international partnerships fostered by the Indo-Senegal Film and Cultural Forum and Marwah Studios, setting the stage for more collaborative projects in the future.

Historic Indo-Senegal Collaboration: First Joint Short Film Launched Under Indo Senegal Film and Cultural Forum

Noida, 7th July 2025: In a landmark initiative to foster cross-cultural cinematic collaboration, the Indo Senegal Film and Cultural Forum, under the aegis of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), proudly announced the launch of the first-ever India–Senegal joint venture short film. The film brings together an extraordinary blend of talent from AAFT (Asian Academy of Film and Television) and Senegal, showcasing the true spirit of international unity through cinema.

Written and produced by Fatimata Kane Haidara, the project was developed in association with Marwah Films and Video Productions, with participation from both Indian and Senegalese cast and crew. This cinematic collaboration marks a significant cultural milestone between the two nations, aiming to deepen the artistic and emotional bonds shared by India and Senegal.

The initiative is supported under the Patronship of H.E. Abdoul Wahab Haidara, Ambassador of Senegal to India. The Indo Senegal Film and Cultural Forum has been actively participating in all major ICMEI events including the Global Film Festival, Global Fashion and Design Week, Global Festival of Journalism, Global Literary Festival, and the International Documentary Film Festival, consistently promoting art and culture between the two countries.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair of the Indo Senegal Film and Cultural Forum, expressed great pride in this collaborative achievement: “This short film is more than just a creative project—it is a symbol of enduring friendship, artistic synergy, and cultural respect between India and Senegal. Indo Senegal Film and Cultural Forum Strengthened by Visit of Senegalese Delegation to Marwah Studios

Noida: In a vibrant display of cultural diplomacy and artistic collaboration, Mrs. Fatima Kane Haidara, noted writer from Senegal, along with H.E. Abdoul Wahab Haidara, High Commissioner of Senegal to India, visited Marwah Studios, Film City Noida, to promote the ongoing activities of the Indo Senegal Film and Cultural Forum, a flagship initiative of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI).

During the visit, a beautiful painting from Senegal was presented to Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair of the Forum, symbolizing the spirit of cultural exchange and goodwill between the two nations.

In a detailed interaction, Dr. Marwah apprised the High Commissioner of Senegal’s consistent participation in ICMEI’s globally recognized initiatives, including the Global Fashion Week, Global Film Festival, Global Literary Festival, Global Festival of Journalism, and the International Festival of Documentary Films. Dr. Marwah further proposed organizing a stand-alone Senegal Film Festival, a Senegal Food Festival, and a roadshow on Senegalese tourism to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Highlighting the potential of creative collaboration, Mrs. Fatima Kane Haidara proposed the idea of developing a joint Indo-Senegalese film venture, marking a new chapter in cinematic partnership between the two countries.

To honor the diplomatic and cultural cooperation, Dr. Sandeep Marwah presented Life Membership of the International Film and Television Club of Marwah Studios to H.E. Abdoul Wahab Haidara, recognizing his support and active engagement in Indo-Senegal cultural relations.

The visit marked another meaningful step in fostering people-to-people connections and mutual creative growth through the power of art, culture, and cinema.

Indo Senegal Cultural Forum Celebrated National Day of Senegal

Noida: “I on behalf of ICMEI, Media & Entertainment Industry and complete art and cultural fraternity of India extend my heartiest congratulations to H.E. Abdoul Wahab Haidara Ambassador of Senegal to India  and people of Senegal on the auspicious day of their National Day falls on 4th April,” said Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts.

The visit of Sandeep Marwah to Senegal brought the cultural industries of two countries close to each other. The formation of Indo Senegal Film and Cultural Forum brought new light to the relationship between two countries.

In Senegal, Independence Day is a public holiday celebrated on 4 April. This day is the National Day of Senegal and celebrates independence from France on 4 April 1960. In April 1959 Senegal merged with the French Sudan to form the Mali Federation. A transfer of power agreement was signed with France on 4 April 1960, which led to formal independence on 20 June 1960.

Abdoul Wahab Haidara Is Now Patron to Indo Senegal Cultural Forum

New Delhi: H.E. Abdoul Wahab Haidara Ambassador of Senegal to India is now Patron to Indo Senegal Film And Cultural Forum created by Sandeep Marwah of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and Embassy of Senegal in New Delhi seven years back.

“We will be now able to work much faster under your leadership. You are our guiding force and I am sure we will be able to create better relation between the people of India and  Senegal through cultural diplomacy. Soft power has always played a key role in developing and promoting relations between two countries,” addressed Dr. Sandeep Marwah while presenting the memento to H.E. Abdoul Wahab Haidara.

“I am very keen in starting some interesting programs where we can show the cultural strength of Senegal to the people of India. People in Senegal love Indian music specially from Hindi Cinema. There are large number of people who are great fans of Indian stars,” said H.E. Abdoul Wahab Haidara.

India and Senegal have had close and cordial relations since the latter gained its independence from France  in 1960. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established at the ambassadorial level with the establishment of a resident Indian mission in Dakar in 1962. The two countries share common values of democracy, development and secularism and have been supportive of each other on international fora.

New Delhi: Seven years is a long time to be the chair for Indo Senegal Film And Cultural Forum and voluntary working for the promotion and development of relations between the two countries India and Senegal without the support of any financial body. We salute the non-stop efforts of Dr. Sandeep Marwah,” said H.E. Abdoul Wahab Haidara Ambassador of Senegal to India while presenting the memento to Dr. Marwah in a small event at High Commission of Senegal.

H.E.Abdoul Aziz MBAYE the minister of Culture Government of Republic of Senegal inaugurated the forum in the presence of H.E. Amadou Moustapha DIOUF Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the republic of Senegal to India way back in 2014 at Marwah Studios.

That time the event was attended by M.Abdoul Aziz LOUM Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Senegal in India, Babacar THIAM Chef de cabinet du Ministre de la Culture, Hugues DIAZ Director of Cinematography, Ministry of Culture, Republic of Senegal, Thione Seck advisor to the minister and  Modibo Diawara a well-known Film maker,

I am thankful to H.E. Abdoul Wahab Haidara Ambassador of Senegal to India for recognising my efforts towards India Senegal relations. We have designed many new programs to enhance our relations,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah also President of Marwah Studios.
