Myanmar-Inspired Collection Shines at 10th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2026

Noida, India: The AAFT School of Fashion and Design, in association with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, presented a stunning fashion sequence inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Myanmar during Asian Unity Day on 2nd April, as part of the opening day of the Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2026 at Marwah Studios.

Featured as Day 1 | 2nd Show | Sequence 6, the collection was designed by Khushi Khan, who drew inspiration from the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda. The collection reinterpreted sacred beauty through the lens of modern luxury, offering a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary design.

Flowing gowns inspired by the traditional longyi echoed grace and fluidity, while intricate gold embroidery, lotus motifs, and temple-inspired geometry added layers of cultural depth and symbolism. A radiant palette of gold, ivory, and sunset hues beautifully captured the spiritual essence of Myanmar, reflecting devotion, strength, and timeless sophistication.

The Indo Myanmar Film and Cultural Forum played a pivotal role in presenting the program. Extensive research conducted at AAFT under the forum ensured authenticity and a deeper cultural connection within the collection.

Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI, Marwah Studios, and Chancellor of AAFT University, said:
“This collection is a magnificent tribute to the spiritual and cultural richness of Myanmar. Inspired by the Shwedagon Pagoda, it reflects how fashion can beautifully interpret heritage into contemporary expression. On the momentous occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), along with the entire fraternity of art and culture in India, extends its warmest congratulations to H.E. Film from Myanmar Appreciated by Audience at 15th Global Film Festival

Film from Myanmar was Honoured with Award of Distinction at 15th GFFN

Noida: On the second day of the 15th Global Film Festival Noida, a film screening of the movie “The Attachment” from Myanmar was organised. The guest panel included Festival President Dr Sandeep Marwah, Renowned Actor Brijendra Kala, Rajan Sehgal Chairman at TAAI- (Travel Agents Association of India)  and the Ambassador of Myanmar to India HE Moe Kyaw Aung.

Addressing the gathering, Festival President Dr. Sandeep Marwah expressed his happiness regarding the Indo-Myanmar relations and forum and how it’s helping to build good relations between both the countries. He laid stress on the importance of film and cultural tourism and how that industry is flourishing with time. He said that two countries can definitely come together with the help of art and culture.

Rajan Sehgal said that Global Film Festival Noida is a great platform for all the students to be have a wider exposure and learn from the top-notch Industry professionals. Renowned actor Brijendra Kala said that events like these should keep going on even in the future. He also said that age does not and will never matter as long as one has the passion and will to learn and achieve something big. He shared some acting tips with the students of AAFT.

The Ambassador of Myanmar HE Moe Kyaw Aung mentioned about good cultural relations between India and Myanmar. He said that “film is a medium to promote people to people contact and understanding”. He also said that his country is very closely related to the Indian film industry and hence expressed his wish of inviting Indian filmmakers to produce films in Myanmar.

The award of distinction for the film “The Attachment” was presented by Dr. Sandeep Marwah to HE Moe Kyaw Aung alongside presentation of mementos to the esteemed guests. The event was coordinated by  Assistant Professor Ruhi  of AAFT School of Animation  and   Assistant Professor Niharika of AAFT School of PR Events & Advertising. The event was supported by International Film and Television Club, International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, Asian Unity Alliance, World Peace Development and Research Foundation and Indo Myanmar Film and Culture Forum.

ICMEI Congratulates Myanmar on National Day


ICMEI Celebrates National Day of Myanmar

New Delhi:26th Dec: “I take this opportunity on behalf of ICMEI, complete media and entertainment industry and art and culture fraternity of India to congratulate H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung  Ambassador of Myanmar to India and the people of Myanmar on the auspicious day of National Day of Myanmar which falls on 4th January,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry.

On January 4th 1948, the Union of Burma gained its independence from Britain. Notably, it declined to join the British Commonwealth. Shan National Sao Shwe Taik became the new country’s first President and U Nu its first Prime Minister. Burma was renamed Myanmar in 1989 by its military government.

“Not very long ago we have created Indo Myanmar Film and Cultural Forum in association with Embassy of Myanmar in India to develop and promote relations between the people of two countries through art and culture. Myanmar has always been part of our all international summits from time t time,” added Dr. Marwah also Chair for Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum.

New Delhi: A powerful MOU- Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and Embassy of Myanmar in India representing Government of Myanmar to promote art and culture of both the countries.

The MOU was signed by Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI and H.E.  Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India at the Embassy of Myanmar at Chanakyapuri.

“We have discussed in length as how ICMEI can help in bringing people of India close to people of Myanmar. We also want Indians to know more about culture of Myanmar and vice versa,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI.

Promotion through scholarships, radio programs, television programs, print and social media publicity, events including musical recitals, dance recitals, honoring visiting artists from Myanmar, exchange programs in education, film festivals are some of the points finalized in the discussion.

“We are eager to work with ICMEI and I am sure we will take our relations to new and higher platform,” said H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India.

New Delhi: A well-known film and media personality Dr. Sandeep Marwah has been nominated as the Chair for newly constituted Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum to promote relation between two countries.

“I am pleased to nominate Sandeep Marwah as the Chair for Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum as he is going to be the cultural ambassador for India and Myanmar too. He has a vast experience of International relations and culture diplomacy,” said H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India, Government of Myanmar.

“I am thankful to H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung for the confidence has showered on me. I am ready to take the responsibility whole heartedly and for all time to come,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah is seven times International record holder and has been in art and culture business for last thirty years. His contribution in promoting international relations cannot be expressed in words. Films, television, media, tourism, hospitality, new media, fashion, design, journalism, Events etc, are his specialization. He is also the President of ICMEI.

New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI has presented H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India with Patronship of Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum recently launched at International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry at Noida Film City

Moe Kyaw Aung joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1990 as the rank of Head of Branch-2/ as Third Secretary. His previous diplomatic assignments include postings in Washington, Geneva, Jakarta, Bandarseri Begawan.

He has also served as Head of Branch – 1 (International Organization and Economic Department), as Deputy Director (ASEAN Department), Director (Protocol Department, President’s Office), Director (ASEAN Department) and Deputy Director General (Protocol Department) during his stints at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

He has served as the Attachment Officer at the ASEAN Secretariat at Jakarta in 2014 and as Director (Protocol Department) of the President’s Office from 2009 to 2013.He was the Ambassador/Deputy Head of Mission in Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia from May 2016 to 11 November 2017. He has great experience in organizing large number of conferences, workshops and high profiled delegations. 

H.E. Mr. Moe Kyaw Aung took over as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Myanmar to India on 23 November 2017.

Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum Formed at ICMEI


Noida: The visit of H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India brought new energy to the international campus of ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry at Marwah Studios when a new committee on Myanmar under the name and banner of Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum was declared open.

“We have achieved a new target by opening a new committee on Myanmar. Not many people are aware of Myanmar and its beauty. We are neighbors to India and want to do a lot of business between the two countries including cinema and tourism,” said H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India.

“It is not only necessary but essential to develop contact between people to people of two countries. ICMEI will support both the governments to fulfill their desire of building up bigger and better relation and cooperation,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and ICMEI.

A poster was launched on the occasion to mark the opening of the forum. H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar nominated Dr. Sandeep Marwah as the   Chair for Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum. In return Dr. Marwah presented the Patronship to the Ambassador. The launching will be followed by the formal event of signing of MOU by Embassy of Myanmar and ICMEI.
