Noida, India – February 12, 2025: The 13th Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC Noida 2025 proudly celebrated the International Day of Journalism, marking its 13th anniversary since its inception in 2012.

The event was spearheaded by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Festival President, who emphasized the significance of February 12 as a day dedicated to acknowledging the role of journalists worldwide. “It has been 13 years since we established International Day of Journalism, and it is heartening to see it gaining global recognition. Journalism is the backbone of a democratic society, and today, we honor the courage and dedication of media professionals across the world,” Dr. Marwah stated.

The International Day of Journalism was originally conceived, designed, and announced by the International Journalism Centre (IJC), a global body representing 50,000 media professionals. Under the leadership of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, IJC continues to advocate for press freedom, ethical journalism, and media education on an international scale.

To mark the occasion, a special poster was launched as a tribute to the journalism community. The celebration witnessed an overwhelming response from media professionals, journalists, and students from across India and abroad who came together to acknowledge the vital role of journalism in society.
