Nicosia: The first ever Cyprus Film Summit 2018 was held at Filoxenia Conference Center in Nicosia on October 10, 2018. “The Summit was organized by the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus), the Cyprus Tourism Organization and the Press and Information Office of the Republic of Cyprus,” informed Michalis P. Michael Chairperson of Cyprus Investment

The First Cyprus Film Summit is attended by International Film and Audiovisual professionals from film and audiovisual industry from all over the world, representing a unique opportunity for Cyprus to showcase its compelling advantages as a filming destination,” said Sandeep Marwah a well-known filmmaker from India.

In addition to attracting film and other audiovisual productions, the aim of the conference was also to present the Cyprus Film Scheme recently introduced by the Cyprus Government, providing financial incentives for all domestic and international productions filmed in Cyprus, as well as to present the Film in Cyprus online platform, from where interested parties will be able to receive relevant information on all developments in the audiovisual industry in the island and submit their application online.

“Over 120 participants from production companies, as well as Executive Producers from Europe, India, Russia and North America were there at the Summit. It is a good beginning to establish a powerful film industry,” added Marwah.

Sandeep Marwah Met Demetrios Theophylectou During Cyprus Film Summit

Nicosia: A well known name in the media and entertainment industry and president of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry Sandeep Marwah met H.E. Demetrios Theophylectou the former Ambassador of Cyprus to India.

“It is during his time a very powerful organization under the name and banner of Indo Cyprus Film And Cultural Forum was designed and inaugurated. We had the opportunity to come to Cyprus with the delegation of 18 people who all highlighted the visit well in India,” said Sandeep Marwah at Nicosia while talking about Indo Cyprus relations to delegates from all over the World.

International Film and Audiovisual professionals from around the world meet up at the first Cyprus Film Summit 2018 to discuss the latest developments in the industry in Cyprus and witness first-hand all the island has to offer as a natural filming studio.

It was a wonderful chance to meet and network with 120+ delegates from around the globe, including international and local companies sharing insights and thoughts on Cyprus’ potential as a renowned filming destination.

Invest Cyprus, the Cyprus Tourism Organization (CTO) and the Press and Information Office (PIO) of the Republic of Cyprus have organized the Cyprus Film Summit 2018 on 9-12 October 2018 at the Filoxenia Conference Centre in Nicosia.

Nicosia: A welcome dinner was organized by the Government of Cyprus in honor of foreign delegates from different parts of the World to attend the first Cyprus Cinema Summit at Nicosia.

“We are gathered here to bring in new energy to Cyprus Film Industry. Your cooperation and support will help us to provide you the natural film studios of Cyprus. We wish you a very comfortable stay and a flourishing film business in Cyprus,” said Constantinos Yiorkadjis the Mayor of Nicosia welcoming the film makers.

“We are here to serve you to our best. We want you to go back home with best of the experience so that you are again here with us for film business,” said Lefteris Eleftheriou Head of filming unit at Investment Cyprus and Chairman Plan Assessment Committee.

“We are overwhelmed by the hospitality and  service given by the department and wish that Cyprus Film Summit a very successful beginning in cinema,” said Sandeep Marwah a special guest and Chair Indo Cyprus Film And Cultural Forum.

Marwah also met Kiran Kumar Reddy, Komal Nahta, Sanjeev Singh, Ravi Bohra and Akshay K Singh from India. Nicosia: A well known film, television and media personality Sandeep Marwah represented Republic of India in Cyprus Film Summit held at Nicosia, the Capital of the country to have better relations with he film makers of the World and declaring Cyprus as film location.

More than 100 film makers from all over the World gathered here to participate in first Cyprus Film Summit at Filoxenia Conference Centre at Nicosia to find out more about new Cyprus Film Scheme, to visit ideal pristine filming locations and network with local companies and professionals.

“ I am excited to here from India and it seems that Cyprus is a studio in its self with so many beautiful locations all over the country. This is my second visit and I am happy to deal with the professionals who all are well equipped with the knowledge and equipment and related facilities,” said Sandeep Marwah who is also the chair for ICFCF- Indo Cyprus Film And Cultural Forum and President ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry.
