Indo-Venezuela Film and Cultural Forum Makes a Grand Impact at 9th Global Fashion and Design Week

Noida, India – May 31, 2025 – The Indo-Venezuela Film and Cultural Forum, in collaboration with the Embassy of Venezuela in India, made a remarkable contribution to the 9th Global Fashion and Design Week (GFDW) Noida 2025, held at Marwah Studios, Noida Film City. This iconic event has cemented its place as the largest fashion week organized by any academic institution worldwide, setting new benchmarks in the fashion and design industry.

Organized under the leadership of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) Fashion Committee, and supported by AAFT School of Fashion and Design and AAFT School of Interior Designing, GFDW 2025 stood as a powerful symbol of cultural unity, creative innovation, and academic excellence.

With participation from over 200 top designers, more than 550 original designer garments, and 125 unique interior design installations, the festival was a vibrant confluence of global design voices. The event featured 90 fashion rounds across 9 captivating shows, 6 curated art and design exhibitions, and 9 international culinary experiences, offering attendees a fully immersive global journey.

Further amplifying its reach, the event included: Fashion films, Live coverage on MSTV and Radio Noida, Support from over 600 international media houses, expanding the festival’s impact to a truly global audience

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI and Chancellor of AAFT University, emphasized, “Global Fashion and Design Week has grown into an international property of prestige and power. Fashion is no longer just about fabric; it is a language of global expression, creativity, and diplomacy.”

As always, the Indo-Venezuela Film and Cultural Forum played a dynamic role in the celebration. Garments inspired by the vibrant art, culture, and landscapes of Venezuela were prominently featured, capturing the hearts of audiences and fashion aficionados alike.

Two exquisite Venezuela-inspired collections stole the spotlight: Collection 1: Caribbean Coastline Reverie

Drawing inspiration from Venezuela’s stunning Caribbean shoreline, this collection radiated tropical elegance. With flowing silhouettes and intricate macramé fabrics, the designs evoked the rhythm of ocean breezes. The calming blue ombré palette mirrored the sea’s gentle tides, celebrating the artisanal traditions of Venezuelan craftsmanship in a fresh, modern resort aesthetic.

Collection 2: The Spirit of Angel Falls: Inspired by the majestic Angel Falls, the tallest waterfall in the world, this collection paid homage to the fluid beauty of cascading waters. Featuring ethereal silhouettes, shimmering pearls, radiant crystals, and a vibrant color palette of sapphire blue, cloud white, emerald green, and sunlit gold, the garments reflected Venezuela’s natural grandeur. Each design was a poetic tribute to the nation’s strength, soul, and untamed elegance.

The presence of the Indo-Venezuela Film and Cultural Forum once again reinforced the deep cultural ties between India and Venezuela, turning the fashion week into a beacon of international friendship and artistic collaboration.

The film captivated audiences with its vivid storytelling and in-depth exploration of Agave Cocui—an ancient and revered plant integral to Venezuelan tradition and sustainability.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Festival President and Chair for the Indo-Venezuela Film and Cultural Forum, addressed the gathering before the screening. Film From  Venezuela Steel Clad Honoured with Award of Distinction

Noida:  On the second day of the 15th Global Film Festival Noida, a film from Venezuela “Steel- Clad”, was screened at the festival. During the screening, the Festival President, Dr. Sandeep Marwah said “Art is an essential element to build relations between countries”. He enlightened the audience about the Indo-Venezuela Film and Cultural Forum and relation between the two countries.

“Thirty years back we gave one term to English dictionary that is “Film & Cultural Tourism”, no body could understand that but now every country is talking about it. To honour our own term we have been able to attract three million people so far to Noida Film City under Film and Cultural Tourism,” expressed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios and founder of Noida Film City.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Alfredo Caldera, talked about Venezuela’s solitary cinema and how the movie, “Steel Clad” is a significant milestone in the evolution of the art, culture and cinema of Venezuela. He also extended his gratitude, to connect with ICMEI and India. Lastly, he explained how these events strengthen relations between the countries and are essential tools to propagate cinema. 

 Dr. Sandeep Marwah felicitated  Alfredo Caldera, with the distinction award for the film “Steel Clad” for being one of the most distinguished films of the festival, which was followed by the screening of “Steel Clad”. The event was supported by AAFT University, AUA-Asian Unity Alliance,, ICMEI-International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry and WPDRF-World Peace Development and Research Foundation.

Noida: Indo Venezuela Film and Cultural Forum of ICMEI in association with Embassy of Venezuela in India organize two-day Festival of Short Films from Venezuela. Fifteen short films participated in the festival from Venezuela which was inaugurated by H.E. Coromoto Godoy Calderon Ambassador of Venezuela to India at Marwah Studios Film City Noida.

Indo Venezuela Film and Cultural Forum was created way back in 2016 and since then we are trying our best to develop and promote relations between two countries through art and culture. We have always believed that soft power today is the biggest bridge between the two countries and is used to break the ice. This time we have brought the festival of short films from Venezuela, and we have ready smart audience for these kinds of films,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI and Chair for Indo Venezuela Film ad Cultural Forum.

This is for the first time we have brought short films from Venezuela to India, I am thankful to Marwah Studios, ICMEI and Sandeep Marwah for their cooperation. We will also participate with full length feature film in forth coming Global Film Festival Noida 2022.We may be producing small number of films but our films are seen all over the World. Like India we also believe in family culture. Our association with Indo Venezuela Film and Cultural Forum is getting stronger day by day,” said H.E. Coromoto Godoy Calderon Ambassador of Venezuela to India.

Let us give more emphasis to new thinking which must be reflected in short films by young Indian film makers. You need nor to be filthy rich to produce and direct short films. It is an idea which plays most important role in short films,” added Deepak Singhal former Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh.

Culture diplomacy has always been rated as the best policy in ministry of external affairs to build up the great relations between two countries. We need to develop stronger relations with countries in Latin America specially Venezuela. I congratulate Dr Sandeep Marwah for working even much more than ICCR- Indian Centre for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs Government of India as far as cultural events are concerned,” expressed Suresh K Goel former Secretary Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

Sandeep Marwah is himself producer of largest number of films in the World. He understands the purpose and meaning of these films, the best. I am happy to be here on this powerful event and support making of short films. This is the best way to start your career,” explained Ashok Dhingra Film maker from Mumbai.

Fifteen films were screened at Marwah Studios and students from Asian Academy of Film and Television & Asian School of Media Studies participated in the show. Alfredo Caldera Cultural Counsellor of Embassy of Venezuela and Mrs A. Caldera a Ballet Dancer from Caracas was also present on the occasion.

Shagun Singhal also spoke about short films. Later Sandeep Marwah presented life membership of International Film and Television Club of AAFT to all the dignities.

Indo Venezuela Film and Cultural Forum Plans New Events Soon

Noida: “It is a long-awaited plan of the Government of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to create an association with its Indian counterpart to develop relations through films, arts, culture and media. This is a miracle when an amalgamation of all these was under one roof of ICMEI-International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry today,” It was said by H.E. Augusto Montiel, then the Ambassador of Venezuela to India, addressing a large gathering of national and international film, television, media professionals and people from the art and culture fraternity at Marwah studios way back in 2016 while inaugurating the association, recollected Sandeep Marwah while talking to the visiting Counsellor from Embassy of Venezuela.

“Let me extend my heartiest greetings from H.E. Coromoto Goday Calderon Ambassador of Venezuela to India and thank you for all that you have done for Indo Venezuela friendship,” said Alfredo Caldera  Cultural Counsellor of Embassy of Venezuela.

Dr. Marwah also briefed him with meetings with Honourable Minister of External Relations H.E. Ms Delcy Redriguez, Minister of Petroleum and President of PDVSA H.E. Eulogio del Pino and Vice Minister for Asia, Middle East and Oceania H.E. Felix Plasencia from Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela who were the guest of honours at New Delhi earlier.

A new chart of forth coming events has been designed to strengthen the relation between the two countries. Dr. Marwah also reminded Alfredo of the scholarship already delivered to the Embassy for the deserving student to study in India at AAFT. Soon a film festival of films from Venezuela will be planned. Sandeep Marwah presented Life Membership of International Film and Television Club of AAFT to Alfredo Caldera.
