ICMEI Extends Congratulations to DPR Korea on Liberation Day

New Delhi, August 15, 2025: On behalf of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) and the art and culture fraternity of India, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, extended warm congratulations to H.E. Choe Hui Chol, Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPR Korea), and to the people of DPR Korea on the occasion of their Liberation Day, celebrated on 15th August.

“India and DPR Korea have maintained good relations over the years, and cultural diplomacy continues to be a meaningful medium to strengthen this friendship,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah.

The Indo-DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum, initiated under ICMEI’s banner, has been actively working to foster mutual understanding and deeper cultural cooperation between the two countries through film, art, and creative exchanges.

Dr. Marwah emphasized that cultural platforms are instrumental in building stronger bridges of friendship. He assured ICMEI’s continued efforts to enhance Indo-DPR Korea relations through collaborative initiatives in cinema and the arts.

Indo DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum Partners in 9th Global Fashion and Design Week

Noida, India – [May 31, 2025]: The Indo DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum, in association with the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPR Korea) in India, proudly partnered in the 9th Global Fashion and Design Week (GFDW) Noida 2025, held at Marwah Studios, Noida Film City. The week-long festival of creativity and cultural celebration has officially been recognized as the largest fashion week ever hosted by an academic institution globally.

Organized by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) Fashion Committee, in collaboration with the AAFT School of Fashion and Design and the AAFT School of Interior Designing, GFDW 2025 was a magnificent showcase of international talent and innovation. Highlights of the event included: Participation of 200 top designers; Display of 550 designer garments; 125 unique interior design pieces; 90 fashion rounds across 9 grand shows; 6 curated exhibitions; 9 international culinary experiences; Fashion film screenings; Live broadcast via MSTV and Radio Noida; and Collaboration with over 600 global media outlets.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the Festival and Chair of the Indo DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum, expressed pride in the Forum’s continued involvement. “Like always, the Indo DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum was a key contributor to this prestigious global platform. This year, we were honored to present a collection inspired by the deep-rooted artistic traditions of DPR Korea,” said Dr. Marwah.

The showcased collection drew from DPR Korea’s rich cultural tapestry. Garments featured paisley motifs inspired by traditional ceramics and royal court robes. Designed in luxurious crepe, with zari and sequin embroidery, the pieces stood out in deep green tones—symbolizing resilience and grace. The collection’s structured yet fluid silhouettes paid homage to the legacy of bojagi (traditional wrapping cloth) and hanbok (traditional Korean attire), reimagined with a touch of modern elegance.

The Indo DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum continues to play a pivotal role in building cultural bridges through creative collaborations and remains committed to promoting peace and friendship between India and DPR Korea through arts and media.

Noida, India – The International Film and Television Club (IFTC), in collaboration with the Indo-DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum, proudly presented two exceptional films from DPR Korea, Palace Helps Children to Have Dreams and Sondowon International Children’s Camp, at the 17th Global Film Festival held at Marwah Film City. The screening took place in a house-full auditorium, reflecting the audience’s keen interest in cinematic narratives from around the globe.

Kim Myong Chol, First Secretary of the Embassy of DPR Korea, addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to showcase these heartfelt stories. He emphasized the importance of cultural exchange in fostering mutual understanding and goodwill.

Noida, India, 15th August 2024: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), on behalf of the entire fraternity of art and culture in India, extends its heartiest congratulations to H.E.
