The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from tourism professionals, entrepreneurs, academicians, and students who benefited from the vast experience and expertise of renowned speakers representing different segments of the travel and tourism industry.

Jawai, Pali district / Rajasthan, India – Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism and Vice President of Film Federation of India, has embarked on a special visit to the breathtaking region of Jawai in Rajasthan to explore new and picturesque locations for film and television productions.

Nestled in the heart of Pali district, Jawai has emerged as one of India’s most unique destinations, offering an extraordinary blend of rugged landscapes, rich culture, and thriving wildlife. Located approximately three hours from Udaipur, the region is globally recognized for the rare and harmonious coexistence of leopards and the indigenous Rabari tribe, along with a seasonal influx of exotic migratory birds.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Marwah emphasized the importance of identifying fresh and visually compelling destinations for the global entertainment industry. “Jawai represents an untapped cinematic treasure with its dramatic terrain, unique wildlife presence, and vibrant local culture. Noida, India: The AAFT School of Hospitality & Tourism proudly presented “DHARAM–GARAM,” a specially curated food festival inspired by the culinary preferences of legendary superstar Dharmendra, during the 18th Global Film Festival Noida held at Marwah Studios. The unique gastronomic tribute beautifully blended cinema, culture, and cuisine, drawing enthusiastic appreciation from dignitaries, film personalities, and festival delegates.

The Dharam–Garam table was formally inaugurated by an eminent group of distinguished guests including Jaya Prada, renowned cine star and politician; Charu Shankar, acclaimed actress; Dr. Abraham Kumar, renowned music director from the USA; Mukesh Tyagi, actor and BJP spokesperson; Tarun Bajaj, celebrated casting director; Shabbir Boxwala, renowned producer; and Umesh Shukla, noted film director.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Emile Mwepesi of the High Commission of Rwanda, who expressed his happiness at seeing Rwanda’s culinary traditions celebrated in India. “Cuisine is a reflection of our history, diversity, and spirit. Sharing Rwandan food with friends in India is not just about taste but about strengthening cultural understanding and friendship between our nations,” he said.

New Delhi: At a grand function of the ICON Tourism Awards held at ITC Maurya Sheraton, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University, addressed the distinguished gathering and spoke passionately about the unique concept of Film and Cultural Tourism.

Dr. Marwah recalled how, way back in 1993, he introduced and coined the term Film and Cultural Tourism when he established Marwah Studios at Noida Film City. Since then, the studios have become a hub of international visitors, hosting over 90 million footfalls at Noida Film City and nearly 3 million visitors at Marwah Studios alone, representing 156 countries. This extraordinary achievement has earned Dr. Marwah a World Record for promoting cultural exchange and creative tourism through films and media.

“Film and culture are the biggest ambassadors of any nation. They connect people beyond borders and promote unity, peace, and understanding. By opening Marwah Studios to the world, we created not just a hub of creativity but a destination for cultural tourism. Today, Film and Cultural Tourism has become a recognized movement globally, and I am proud that it began here in India,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah in his keynote.

The ceremony was presided over by Ms. Jyoti Mayal, President of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), India’s largest and oldest travel and tourism body. She applauded the efforts of industry leaders in strengthening India’s tourism ecosystem and highlighted the importance of innovation and diversification in attracting global travelers.

Mr. Suman Billa, Additional Secretary & Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, also addressed the audience, speaking about India’s vast potential as a tourism destination and the government’s ongoing initiatives to enhance travel infrastructure, cultural experiences, and global partnerships.

New Delhi:  In a landmark achievement, Marwah Studios, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, has attracted a footfall of three million visitors from 156 countries, establishing itself as a global hub for film and cultural tourism. This milestone was highlighted by Dr. Marwah while talking to the press at the Tourism and Hospitality Summit organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi.

Speaking at the summit, Dr. Marwah reflected on the journey of Marwah Studios and the introduction of the concept of “Film and Cultural Tourism” over three decades ago. “Thirty-three years back, we introduced a term to the English dictionary—Film and Cultural Tourism. Nobody knew about it then, but today the whole world is talking about it,” said Dr. Marwah. He emphasized the studio’s role in promoting cultural exchange and tourism through the medium of film, which has drawn millions of visitors to Marwah Studios.

The Tourism and Hospitality Summit, organized by IACC’s Tourism and Hospitality Committee, aims to create a platform that recognizes the efforts of industry stakeholders in facilitating travel and tourism within India and internationally. The summit was attended by prominent figures from the tourism industry, including former IACC President Lalit Bhasin, Regional President Arun Karna, Rajesh Magow of MMT, Jonathan M. Heimer, Minister Counsellor for Commercial Affairs at the US Embassy, Suman Billa, Additional Secretary for Tourism, Sherma Vohra from Sartha Marketing, and Harvinder Singh, Director at United Airlines.

During the summit, several individuals were honored with tourism awards for their outstanding contributions to the industry.
