New Delhi,20th Oct,2023: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, a distinguished figure and the Chair of the Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum, was bestowed the esteemed privilege of being the special guest at the celebration of the National Day of Hungary. The event took place at the elegant Hotel Shangri-La in New Delhi.

In a gesture of goodwill and cultural exchange, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, representing the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the His Excellency Istan Szabo Ambassador and the people of Hungary on this auspicious occasion.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah holds the distinction of being the sole Indian personality to have been honored seven times in Hungary over the past few years. The Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum, under his visionary leadership, has been instrumental in promoting and fostering cultural ties between India and Hungary. Dr. Marwah’s eight visits to Hungary have played a pivotal role in bringing the two nations closer through cultural and cinematic collaborations.

The celebration of the Hungarian National Day served as a reminder of the enduring cultural and diplomatic bonds between India and Hungary. Dr. Sandeep Marwah’s presence as the special guest exemplified the significance of cultural diplomacy in strengthening international relations and enhancing people-to-people connections.

The Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum continues its mission of promoting Hungarian culture and cinema in India, further solidifying the friendship and collaboration between the two nations said Dr Mariann Erdo Cultural Counsellor and Director of  Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Centre

Hungarian Film Apro Mesek Won An Award of Distinction at 15th GFFN

Noida: The 15th Global Film Festival was well received by the audience from all over India and abroad. Every film was screened before the full house of film lovers. Hungarian film Apro Medek-Tall Tales was well appreciated by the film makers and film goers on the first day of the festival.

“Hungarian has had a notable cinema industry since the beginning of the 20th century, including Hungarians  who affected the world of motion pictures both within and beyond the country’s borders. The former could be characterized by directors Istvan Szabo, Bela Tarr, or Miklos Jancso  the latter by William Fox and Adolph Zukor,  the founders of Fox Studios and Paramount Pictures  respectively, or Alexander Korda,  who played a leading role in the early period of British cinema. . Examples of successful Hungarian films include Merry go Round, Mephisto, Werckmeister Harmonies and Kontroll,” informed Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Chair for Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum.

“In the rubble and ruin of war’s aftermath, an opportunistic con man named Balász pretends to be a close friend of soldiers killed in the war and insinuate his way into their families and their bank accounts. It’s a dangerous game and gets him into such serious trouble he must flee Budapest to save his skin. When he is given shelter in a remote forest by a woman named Judit and her son, Balász’s con man trickery fades as he finds himself falling in love. Things go well in their passionate affair until Judit’s brutish husband returns home from the front,” story of Tall Tales was narrated by Dr Mariann Erdo Cultural Counselor Embassy of Hungary.

Lt. Col. Laszlo Kovari  Defence Attache Embassy of Hungary and Katianna Ley Actress from Slovenia also spoke on the occasions. The event was supported by International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry & Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum. Later Dr. Sandeep Marwah presented the Award of Distinction to Dr Mariann Erdo for the film Tall Tales.

New Delhi: “I on behalf of ICMEI, Indian Media and Entertainment Industry and complete art and cultural fraternity of India take this wonderful opportunity to extend my heartiest congratulations to H.E.  Andras Laszlo Kiraly Ambassador of Hungary and the people of Hungary on the National Day falls on 15th March,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry and Chair for Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum at International Headquarters at Noida Film City.

It was way back in 2013 Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum was formed during the visit of Sandeep Marwah to Budapest. The forum was inaugurated at Villayn Town by  Gyula Takats the elected Mayor of Town Villany. The event took place at one of the most popular restaurant F.UlemuleCsarda in the presence of Oscar winning director Jiri Menzel. Gobor Kindl festival director of Shoot4Earth Jeno Hodi Chairperson of Budapest Film Academy, Szel Moni of Pixel TV, Kovesdi Szilvia and Fatima of Halasi Pince Panzio the hostess of the event, Prof. Karl Bardosh of New York University, Albert Marsalko Peter of Marsalko Foto a digitalis Valosag and others also opted for the membership and were witness to this historical event.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah is the first Indian to be nominated and awarded Eight times in Hungary on different occasions including during the festival of Shoot for Life by festival director Gabor Kindl & Oscar winning Director Jiri Menzel from Czech Republic, at Shoot for Earth Festival by festival director Gabor Kindl & Oscar wining director István Szabó.

He was also honored at James Cinefest Miskolc International Festival by Tibor Biro, the festival director and Dr. Akos Kriza, Mayor of the City. Dr. Marwah was also appreciated and honored by Director Jeno Hodi at Budapest Film Academy, Another award he was presented by Ferenc Borbely renowned actor Film & TV Producer and Indian Ambassador to Hungary H.E. Kumar Tuhin on behalf of Hungarian Film Fraternity.

Marwah was also presented an award being co-president of the festival by Dr. Phd. Kiss Robert Richard renowned journalist at the time of first Cellphone Cinema festival. The Indo Hungarian Film And Cultural Forum Budapest also presented an award for his untiring contribution to the development of Indian Hungarian relations by Edit Osko, Boldizsar Peter and Judith Rachel Lazar. Recently he was also appreciated by the Terry Macluhan during Shoot4Earth 2021.

Sandeep Marwah is the only Indian who has been honoured six times at Hungary on different occasions including by Ferenc Borbely renowned actor Film & TV Producer of Hungarian Film Producers Association in the presence of H.E. Kumar Tuhin , by director Jiri Menzil &  Gabor Kindl at Shoot for Life & Shoot for Earth  Hungarian Film Festival in the presence of Oscar wining director István Szabó.

 Sandeep Marwah also presented with an award by Tibor Biro & Dr. Akos Kriza, Mayor of the City at Jameson at Cinefest Miskolc International Film Festival in the presence of H.E. Malay Mishra, by Dr. Phd. Kiss Robert Richard renowned journalist and President of the festival at International Cellphone Cinema festival and by  Judith Rachel Lazar & Edit Osko in the presence of H..E. Rahul Chabra at Budapest.

New Delhi:  Renowned media person Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, extended his best wishes to H.E. Gyula Petho Ambassador of Hungary to India and to the people of Hungary on the celebration of National Day of Hungary at Embassy complex.

“I extend my heartiest congratulations to Ambassador of Hungary and the people of Hungary on this auspicious occasion of National Day Celebration. I wish India and Hungary a very strong and close relations,” said Sandeep Marwah also Chair for Indo Hungarian Film And Cultural Forum.

Mansukh Laxmanbhai Mandaviya the Union Minister of State for Shipping (India) (Independent Charge) and Union Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizers The Union Minister for State, Government of India was the Chief Guest.  Many Ambassadors, High Commissioners and diplomats from different countries attended the function.
