New Delhi,20th Oct,2023: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, a distinguished figure and the Chair of the Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum, was bestowed the esteemed privilege of being the special guest at the celebration of the National Day of Hungary. The event took place at the elegant Hotel Shangri-La in New Delhi.

In a gesture of goodwill and cultural exchange, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, representing the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the His Excellency Istan Szabo Ambassador and the people of Hungary on this auspicious occasion.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah holds the distinction of being the sole Indian personality to have been honored seven times in Hungary over the past few years. The Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum, under his visionary leadership, has been instrumental in promoting and fostering cultural ties between India and Hungary. Dr. Marwah’s eight visits to Hungary have played a pivotal role in bringing the two nations closer through cultural and cinematic collaborations.

The celebration of the Hungarian National Day served as a reminder of the enduring cultural and diplomatic bonds between India and Hungary. Dr. Sandeep Marwah’s presence as the special guest exemplified the significance of cultural diplomacy in strengthening international relations and enhancing people-to-people connections.

Hungarian Film Apro Mesek Won An Award of Distinction at 15th GFFN

Noida: The 15th Global Film Festival was well received by the audience from all over India and abroad. Every film was screened before the full house of film lovers. Hungarian film Apro Medek-Tall Tales was well appreciated by the film makers and film goers on the first day of the festival.

“Hungarian has had a notable cinema industry since the beginning of the 20th century, including Hungarians  who affected the world of motion pictures both within and beyond the country’s borders. The former could be characterized by directors Istvan Szabo, Bela Tarr, or Miklos Jancso  the latter by William Fox and Adolph Zukor,  the founders of Fox Studios and Paramount Pictures  respectively, or Alexander Korda,  who played a leading role in the early period of British cinema. . Examples of successful Hungarian films include Merry go Round, Mephisto, Werckmeister Harmonies and Kontroll,” informed Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Chair for Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum.

“In the rubble and ruin of war’s aftermath, an opportunistic con man named Balász pretends to be a close friend of soldiers killed in the war and insinuate his way into their families and their bank accounts. It’s a dangerous game and gets him into such serious trouble he must flee Budapest to save his skin. When he is given shelter in a remote forest by a woman named Judit and her son, Balász’s con man trickery fades as he finds himself falling in love. Things go well in their passionate affair until Judit’s brutish husband returns home from the front,” story of Tall Tales was narrated by Dr Mariann Erdo Cultural Counselor Embassy of Hungary.

Lt. Col. Laszlo Kovari  Defence Attache Embassy of Hungary and Katianna Ley Actress from Slovenia also spoke on the occasions. The event was supported by International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry & Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum. Later Dr. Sandeep Marwah presented the Award of Distinction to Dr Mariann Erdo for the film Tall Tales.

We have established our links with number of Hungarians during my last few visits to different cities of Hungary specially the capital Budapest,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Chair for Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum.

“The tourism has become much larger in numbers and quality. Sandeep Marwah has been talking about Hungary many times on different platforms. His contribution is immense as he is representing large number of organizations. We are here to invite him once again to visit Hungary at his convenience,” said Edit Osko tourism consultant from Budapest.

Sandeep Marwah is the only Indian who has been honored Eight times in Hungary for his contribution to films, television an media. His support in promoting Hungarian locations for Cinema and Television programs is large. Indian film makers have been shooting in Hungary quite a lot in last few years since the formation of Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum,” said Ferenc Borbely renowned actor, Film & TV Producer from Hungary.

New Delhi: “I on behalf of ICMEI, Indian Media and Entertainment Industry and complete art and cultural fraternity of India take this wonderful opportunity to extend my heartiest congratulations to H.E.  Andras Laszlo Kiraly Ambassador of Hungary and the people of Hungary on the National Day falls on 15th March,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry and Chair for Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum at International Headquarters at Noida Film City.

It was way back in 2013 Indo Hungarian Film and Cultural Forum was formed during the visit of Sandeep Marwah to Budapest. The forum was inaugurated at Villayn Town by  Gyula Takats the elected Mayor of Town Villany. The event took place at one of the most popular restaurant F.UlemuleCsarda in the presence of Oscar winning director Jiri Menzel. Gobor Kindl festival director of Shoot4Earth Jeno Hodi Chairperson of Budapest Film Academy, Szel Moni of Pixel TV, Kovesdi Szilvia and Fatima of Halasi Pince Panzio the hostess of the event, Prof. Karl Bardosh of New York University, Albert Marsalko Peter of Marsalko Foto a digitalis Valosag and others also opted for the membership and were witness to this historical event.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah is the first Indian to be nominated and awarded Eight times in Hungary on different occasions including during the festival of Shoot for Life by festival director Gabor Kindl & Oscar winning Director Jiri Menzel from Czech Republic, at Shoot for Earth Festival by festival director Gabor Kindl & Oscar wining director István Szabó.

He was also honored at James Cinefest Miskolc International Festival by Tibor Biro, the festival director and Dr. Akos Kriza, Mayor of the City. Dr. Marwah was also appreciated and honored by Director Jeno Hodi at Budapest Film Academy, Another award he was presented by Ferenc Borbely renowned actor Film & TV Producer and Indian Ambassador to Hungary H.E. Kumar Tuhin on behalf of Hungarian Film Fraternity.

Marwah was also presented an award being co-president of the festival by Dr. Phd. Kiss Robert Richard renowned journalist at the time of first Cellphone Cinema festival. The Indo Hungarian Film And Cultural Forum Budapest also presented an award for his untiring contribution to the development of Indian Hungarian relations by Edit Osko, Boldizsar Peter and Judith Rachel Lazar. Recently he was also appreciated by the Terry Macluhan during Shoot4Earth 2021.

Kumar Tuhin , by director Jiri Menzil &  Gabor Kindl at Shoot for Life & Shoot for Earth  Hungarian Film Festival in the presence of Oscar wining director István Szabó.

 Sandeep Marwah also presented with an award by Tibor Biro & Dr. Akos Kriza, Mayor of the City at Jameson at Cinefest Miskolc International Film Festival in the presence of H.E. Malay Mishra, by Dr. Phd. Kiss Robert Richard renowned journalist and President of the festival at International Cellphone Cinema festival and by  Judith Rachel Lazar & Edit Osko in the presence of H..E. Rahul Chabra at Budapest.

Film Workshop by Hungarian Film Maker At AAFT



Noida: A powerful workshop by a well-known film maker and educationist Dr. Balazs Vargawas conducted at Asian Academy of Film And Television organized by Indo Hungarian Film And Cultural Forum in association with Hungarian Information And Culttural Centre of Embassy of Hungary in India.

A box office hit musical comedy Dollybirds/Csinibaba directed by Peter Timar made in 1997 was screened during workshop, which is about the early 1960s. The film is a cult classic of post-socialist nostalgia, depicting Eastern European’s longing for different living and for (imaginary, Western) worlds that were never existed. 

Balázs Varga is an Assistant Professor of Film Studies at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary. He writes and lectures on modern and contemporary Hungarian cinema, contemporary European cinema, production studies, popular cinemas and documentaries. 

Balazs Varga is a founding editor of Metropolis, a scholarly journal on film theory and history based in Budapest. His recent research project has examined the post-communist transition of the Hungarian film industry. His current project focuses on popular East European cinemas. He has published several articles and essays in English, Italian, Polish, Czech and Hungarian books and journals. 

The film maker answered many questions asked by the film and media students. The Cultural Counselor and Director of HICC Pal Bodogh Szabe extended his cooperation for all time to come.

Later Sandeep Marwah honored and presented Life Membership of International Film And Television Club of AAFT to the dignities from Hungary.

New Delhi:  Renowned media person Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, extended his best wishes to H.E. Gyula Petho Ambassador of Hungary to India and to the people of Hungary on the celebration of National Day of Hungary at Embassy complex.

“I extend my heartiest congratulations to Ambassador of Hungary and the people of Hungary on this auspicious occasion of National Day Celebration. I wish India and Hungary a very strong and close relations,” said Sandeep Marwah also Chair for Indo Hungarian Film And Cultural Forum.

Noida: Indo Hungarian Film And Cultural Association of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry has been involved with the promotion of Hungarian Cinema and cultural in India continuously from last many years.

“We leave no chance to grab the opportunity to high light Hungarian artists and plan immediately shows for them. This time renowned saxophonist Viktor Toth presented a show at Marwah Studios,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.

“We feel Marwah Studios as the extension of our Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre. Without efforts we get to perform with ready audience. I am thankful to Dr. Marwah for his unconditional support,” said Dr. Zoltán Wilhelm.  Cultural Counsellor and Director of Balassi Institute Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre.

“ I am amazed by the arrangements in such a short period of time and the receptive audience. A film school with students of performing arts means something,” expressed Viktor Toth the artist of the day.

Viktor Tóth, alto saxophonist, composer and orchestra leader, has been awarded Jazz Musician of the Year several times. He is One of the top figures of the young generation of the contemporary Hungarian jazz scene.

Later Sandeep Marwah honored and presented Viktor Toth a life membership of International Film And Television Club of Asian Academy of Film And Television. Dr. Deepak Narwal from London UK was also present there.

Budapest: Renowned film and media personality of India Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts was interviewed and covered by the most popular TV channel of Hungary during his visit to Budapest.

“I am impressed by the coverage which takes European countries also into account. I am thankful to the team of RTL KLUB Television who were so well prepared at the time of interview,” said Sandeep Marwah.

RTL KLUB is a television station (M-RTL Zrt.) owned by RTL Group and broadcast in Hungary. It was one of Hungary's first commercial TV channels. Since its start, RTL Klub has focused to gain viewers from the urban population. The channel airs programs mostly for a younger (18–49) audience.

It was a long discussion and number of points were discussed to develop and built up better relations between the people of two countries-India and Hungary through art and culture.

“We are trying our level best to create a wonderful relation between people of two countries by way of films, television, media, art and culture, tourism, skill development, etc. Recently we have also handed over the scholarship for the deserving student from Hungary to study films in India,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios visiting Budapest as Vice President of first            mobile film festival of Hungary.

Budapest: Renowned international media personality of India Dr. Sandeep Marwah has been nominated as the Vice President of First Mobile Film Festival of Hungary to be held at Budapest from 18th to 20th March,2019.

“We are privileged to have Dr. Sandeep Marwah as our jury member and we leave it to him to decide and finalize the best films of the country to be awarded under mobile cinema festival,” said Dr. Kiss Robert Richard President of the festival.

"I am feeling honored to be part of first mobile cinema festival of country of Hungary. I am thankful for this opportunity to be the Vice President of the jury along with Prof. Karl Bardosh of New York University and Yuanyuan Che from Chinese Film Finance company,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah is the first one in India to shoot films on mobile  around 13 years back and he is the first one in the World to start International Festival of Cellphone Cinema from Marwah Studios. He has already been titled as Father of Cellphone Cinema. He has recently launched his 12th edition of the festival.

More business can be created between the two friends country,” said Sandeep Marwah Chairman of Art and Culture Committee of PHD addressing the delegation from Hungary at New Delhi.

Balazs Laki of Basilicon, Tamas Beneze Studniczki Rita of Budapest Water Works, Antal Ferenc of CEC Connector Bt, Csonka Endre of First Papermill in Budapest, Dr. Larissza Barakka of Kometa 99 Zrt., Rev Andrais of Rev Group, Kiss Robertof Sfi Engineering Hungary Kft. and Nemes Sarolta of Wekerle Business School were the part of the delegation.


Mr. Zsolt Pákozdy, Senior Commercial Counsellor and  Mr. Péter Schmidt, Commercial Counsellor were also present there. The senior director PHD Yogesh Srivastav conducted the seminar.

Sandeep Marwah the President of Marwah Studios is the only Indian who has brought 4 awards from Hungary to India. He is also the Chairperson of Indo Hungarian Film Association.
