Noida: On the auspicious and vibrant occasion of Lohri, a colourful painting created by a talented student of the AAFT School of Fine Arts was ceremoniously presented to H.E. Mr. Alberto A. Guani, Ambassador of Uruguay to India, under the banner of the Indo–Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum at Marwah Studios.

The artwork, symbolizing warmth, celebration, and cultural harmony, reflected the creative excellence and artistic sensibilities nurtured at AAFT. The presentation marked a meaningful gesture of friendship and cultural exchange between India and Uruguay.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder of Noida Film City, President of Marwah Studios, and Chair of the Indo–Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum, said that art is a powerful medium to build bridges between nations. He emphasized that such cultural interactions strengthen bilateral relations and provide international exposure and encouragement to young artists. Dr. Marwah added that AAFT continues to promote cultural diplomacy through education, creativity, and people-to-people connections.

Expressing his appreciation, H.E. Alberto A. Guani thanked AAFT and Dr. Sandeep Marwah for the warm gesture and praised the creativity of the student artist. Uruguayan Cuisine Featured at International Food Festival during GFFN 2025

Noida, India: The vibrant flavors and rich culinary traditions of Uruguay were showcased with great elegance at the International Food Festival organized during the 18th Global Film Festival Noida (GFFN) 2025 at the prestigious Marwah Film City, Noida. The Uruguay-themed culinary presentation was conceptualized and designed by the AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism, adding a unique Latin American taste to the global gastronomic celebration.

The Uruguayan cuisine pavilion was formally inaugurated by H.E. Alberto A. Guani, Ambassador of Uruguay to India, in the presence of filmmakers, diplomats, international delegates, students, and media professionals attending the festival.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Alberto A. Guani expressed his appreciation for the authentic presentation of Uruguayan cuisine and thanked the Global Film Festival Noida and AAFT for providing such a meaningful platform to promote cultural exchange. He emphasized that food, like cinema, is a universal language that brings people together, and initiatives such as the International Food Festival help strengthen cultural understanding and friendship between Uruguay and India.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder of Noida Film City, President of GFFN, and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, said that the International Food Festival is an integral part of the Global Film Festival Noida, designed to celebrate the diversity of world cultures. New Delhi / Noida: “Learning is not attained by chance; it must be sought for with ardor and diligence,” remarked Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University, as he welcomed a new chapter in Indo–Uruguayan academic and cultural cooperation.

Dr. Marwah was formally introduced to Dr. Ignacio Bartesaghi, Director, Institute of International Business at UCU – Catholic University of Uruguay, through H.E. Alberto Antonio Guani Amarilla, Ambassador of Uruguay to India. The meeting marked a significant step toward expanding educational, cultural, and international business collaborations between India and Uruguay.

In his capacity as Chairman of the Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum, Dr. Marwah extended a warm invitation to Dr. Bartesaghi to visit the AAFT and Marwah Studios campus in Noida. The visit aims to explore deeper institutional partnerships, student and faculty exchanges, joint research opportunities, and collaborative programs in international business, media, films, and cultural studies.

Dr. Marwah emphasised that the Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum, operating under the umbrella of ICMEI – International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, plays a pivotal role in promoting bilateral cultural diplomacy. New Delhi, 25th August: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) and Marwah Studios, graced the celebration of the 198th Independence Day of Uruguay as a special guest. The event, which was attended by a distinguished gathering, took place at the prestigious Hotel Shangri-la, New Delhi.

Noida: Renowned International film television and media personality Dr Sandeep Marwah has been nominated as the Chair for newly constituted Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum by H.E. Alberto A Guani Ambassador of Uruguay to India on his visit to Marwah Studios Film City Noida.

“We are keen in developing film and television business and much interested in promoting art & culture of Uruguay in India and vice versa. Formation of Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural forum is the first step in series of our planning. We have full faith in the activities of Sandeep Marwah and want him to come forward for support as chair of Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum,” said H.E. Alberto A Guani Ambassador of Uruguay to India.

Ambassador Alberto presented the certificate to Sandeep Marwah in a humble function and was amazed to see the awards and accolades being presented to him for the promotion of art and culture.

“I am thankful to H.E. Alberto A Guani for the wonderful responsibility he has showered on me. We have large plans for the promotion of activities including forth coming Global Literary Festival Noida,” said Sandeep Marwah accepting the memento from the Ambassador.

“There are great opportunities and challenges in technology, economics, e-commerce, green economy, renewable energy and art & Culture that we can still do more to develop our relationship with India. Our idea is to bring people together and we hope to be a powerful symbol in this difficult but not impossible task. The Uruguayan point of view is that we are a country on a human scale and we can collaborate with India in order to enhance our friendship and cooperation. Our two countries cherish democracy and we are confident that we can both achieve mutual prosperity for our people,” advised Ambassador Alberto A Guani.

Prior to Ambassador of Uruguay to India Alberto Guaini was the  Director of Institutional Affairs. Before that he was Director of the Diplomatic Academy, Instituto Artigas del Servicio Exterior. Casa Persico, Montevideo, Uruguay. He was also Ambassador of Uruguay to the Federal Republic of Germany from 2012 to 2017. And earlier he was Director General for Cultural Affairs of the Uruguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum Launched at Marwah Studios

Noida: “It is an auspicious day and we have decided to launch Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum officially here at the head quarters of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry to develop and promote relation between the people of two countries,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and ICMEI while releasing the poster.

Indo Uruguay Film and Cultural Forum Launched by H.E. Alberto A Guani Ambassador of Uruguay to India in a humble ceremony at Marwah Studios. “ I am pleased to be the part of this event where we all have to play a very serious role to promote art and culture. We will work together to make this forum popular day by day,” said Ambassador.

H.E. Alberto A Guani Ambassador of Uruguay to India took the round of Marwah Studios and saw the facilities available for further programs. He also met the students of Asian Academy of Film and Television and exchanged their ideas.

India is represented in Uruguay through its embassy inBuenos Aires in Argentina ; it also has a consulate general in Montevideo. Uruguay has an embassy in New Delhi  and a consulate in Mimbai. Diplomatic relations were established in 1948.

As of today, about 100 Indians hold permanent residency in Uruguay. A further 800 Indians reside in the country on long-term visas, most of whom are employed by Tata Consultancy Services  in Montevideo. A small number of Indians from the Gujarati and Sindhi communities work as importers and run retail outlets of Indian textiles and handicrafts in Uruguay.
