ICMEI Extends Heartiest Congratulations to Bhutan on Its National Day

Noida, India: Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), on behalf of the media and entertainment industry and the art and culture fraternity, extended his heartiest congratulations to His Excellency Maj. Gen. Vetsop Namgyel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan, and to the people of Bhutan on the auspicious National Day of Bhutan, celebrated on 17th December.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah highlighted the deep-rooted and time-tested friendship between India and Bhutan, describing the relationship as one of mutual respect, trust, and cultural affinity. “India and Bhutan are not just neighboring nations but best friends who share strong cultural, educational, and people-to-people ties,” he said.

Dr. Marwah also appreciated the significant role played by the Indo Bhutan Film and Cultural Forum, which has been working commendably to strengthen cultural cooperation and promote creative exchanges between the two countries. Through films, festivals, education, and collaborative initiatives, the forum has contributed meaningfully to nurturing bilateral relations.

Emphasizing the contribution of education in shaping Bhutan’s creative landscape, Dr. Marwah noted that AAFT (Asian Academy of Film & Television) has trained many talented students from Bhutan in cinema and media disciplines. These trained professionals have gone on to play a pioneering role in establishing and strengthening the film industry in Bhutan.

He further added that it is a matter of pride that Dr. Sandeep Marwah serves as the Patron of the Bhutan Film Producers Association, reaffirming his continued commitment to supporting the growth of Bhutanese cinema and cultural initiatives on global platforms.

Dr. Marwah concluded by wishing the Government and people of Bhutan continued peace, prosperity, and cultural vibrancy, and expressed optimism for even stronger collaboration between India and Bhutan in the fields of media, entertainment, art, and culture in the years to come.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah Congratulates Bhutan on Its Independence Day

Noida, 17th December: On the occasion of Bhutan’s Independence Day, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), extended his heartfelt congratulations to H.E. Maj. Gen. Namgyel, Ambassador of Bhutan to India, and the people of Bhutan. This historic day, celebrated on 17th December, holds immense significance for Bhutan and its citizens.

Dr. Marwah, who also serves as the President of AAFT University, highlighted the enduring ties between India and Bhutan, particularly in the field of media and arts. Speaking on behalf of the Indo-Bhutan Film and Cultural Forum, he acknowledged the achievements of AAFT students in Bhutan.

“Our students have done exceptionally well in Bhutan; they have established a complete film industry there,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah. “It is an honor to be the Patron of the Film Producers Association of Bhutan. We are committed to promoting relations between the people of our two countries through art and culture.”

The Indo-Bhutan Film and Cultural Forum has been instrumental in fostering collaborations between the creative communities of both nations. ICMEI continues to lead initiatives that strengthen cultural and artistic ties, celebrating the shared heritage and mutual respect between India and Bhutan.

ICMEI Congratulated Ambassador of Bhutan to India on National Day

New Delhi: “I on behalf of ICMEI, Media and Entertainment Industry and art and culture fraternity of India take this opportunity to extend my heartiest congratulations to H.E. Major General Vetsop Namgyel Ambassador of Bhutan to India and the people of Bhutan on the National Day which falls on 17th December,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry on the celebration of National Day at ICMEI.

“Not very long ago We have created Indo Bhutan Film And Cultural Forum and has been developing and promoting the relations between India and country of Bhutan. We are thankful to film maker and AAFT Alumnus Karma Tshering for spreading the word of  Indo Bhutan Film And Cultural Forum in a much bigger way. We have tiedup with Bhutan Chamber of Commerce, Film Association of Bhutan and National Film Commission of Bhutan,” added Sandeep Marwah Chair for IBFCF.

ICMEI Join Hands With National Film Commission of Bhutan


Sandeep Marwah Presented Life Membership of IFTRC to Karma


Noida: ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry join hands with NFCB- National Film Commission of Bhutan, Ministry of Information and Communications, Royal Government of Bhutan.

The visit of Karma Tshering, Chairman of newly formed National Film Commission of Bhutan in the Ministry of Information and Communications, Royal Government Of Bhutan, brought many points of discussion on the table for the promotion of relations between two countries India and Bhutan, and especially development of cinema in Bhutan.

Recently Indo Bhutan Film And Cultural Forum has also been formed at ICMEI under the Chairmanship of Dr. Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios to have cordial and strong relations with Bhutan through films, television, media, art and culture.

Karma Tshering is one of Bhutan’s first trained filmmakers and produced Bhutan's first commercial film titled "Jigdrel" in 1998. He founded Bhutan’s first and only women’s magazine “Yeewong” and “Miss Bhutan Pageant” in 2008 to create a platform for young Bhutanese women. He has been successfully managed to set the first Guinness World Record for Bhutan in Tree Plantation in 2015 where 100 Bhutanese men planted 49,672 trees in 1 hour setting a new world record on 2nd June 2015.

AAFT Alumnus Karma Tshering Currently serves as the President of the "Film Association of Bhutan" and Chairman of the "National Film Commission of Bhutan". Later Chancellor Dr. Marwah honored Karma with life membership of International Film And Television Research Centre of AAFT University.
