Raipur: “If you are in any discipline of communication art, then you must know how to write. Television and cinema have a huge potential for those who can write well, express well. The best way to learn is to take a screenwriting course,” Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts introduced the subject and Screen Writers Association to the media students in a webinar organised by AAFT University of Media and Arts to know more about writing.

“A screenwriter writes content for visual mediums. They write screenplays for feature films, short films, television, commercials, and video games. They create the dialogue, the characters and the storyline of a script,” explained renowned writer Robin Bhatt also President of SWA. He talked about the history of Screen Writers Association, one of the most prestigious organizations of Cinema in India.

Answering to the question put up by the students Danish Javed  said that this can be a very lucrative career because even if a writer is a ninth or tenth person to make revisions, they are still paid. Up and coming screenwriters will also ghost write projects to increase their chances of the script being picked up by a production studio.

Preeti Mamgain Vice President SWA, Satyam Tripathy Joint Secretary SWA, Manisha Korde Joint Secretary SWA also shared their vast experience in writing and answered all the questions coming from media students. “CINTAA has been created to nurture a feeling of fraternity and unity among its members and to regulate their professional relations with their employers; To promote and encourage high standards of professional conduct and integrity amongst its members and to enhance their skills by holding paid workshops at subsidized rates, To mediate in professional disputes between members and producers, directors, studios, TV networks, web networks, employers, etc. arising out of any breach or dispute of the terms of their contracts or agreements, with a view to settle them. And o Endeavour to provide aid against sickness and injury, unemployment, infirmity, old age and death to its members,” explained by Amit Behl Senior Joint Secretary and Chairman Outreach Committee of CINTAA.

Present on the occasion renown actor Rajeshwari Sachdev Joint Secretary CINTAA, Deepak Kejriwal & Neetu Kohli member executive Committee CINTAA also expressed the role of CINTAA in actor’s life. The webinar was followed by another  session to answer student’s questions.  Soon CINTAA and AAFT will sign MOU to work together in many other fields related to Cinema & TV acting. New Delhi: “We are the sixth biggest industry in the country and approximately ten million people are working in media and entertainment business in all the different segments of media. This industry is supporting another ten million people from hospitality and tourism, food and catering, fashion and design, electronics and electrical, architect & Interior designing, air & road transport etc. The fact is that media and entertainment industry is the most favorite industry in the country,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts in a webinar organised by Centre for Education Growth and Research.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah expressed and informed in detail about the Print, Radio, Television, Cinema, Music, New Media, Events which are parts of M&E Industry. He emphasised on the education and skill development of the human resources in all these fields to get better, strong and long-lasting position in the industry. Later Dr. Marwah answered many questions raised by the participants in the webinar.
