AAFT Launched Radio Mumbai on International Day of Journalism

Mumbai: It was exact a year back when we launched Radio Raipur on the World Radio Day during the 9th Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2021. The success of Radio Noida and then Radio Raipur induced us to start third Radio Station after the name Radio Mumbai- The city of Dreams. I extend my heartiest thanks to our listeners and the complete team of Radio Mumbai for their untiring efforts to present radio on its due date,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts pressing the the start button of www.radiomumbai.fm  to inaugurate the station on 12th February, the International Day of Journalism.

Radio is the most intimate and socially personal medium in the world.TV gives everyone an image but radio gives birth to million images in a million brains.I congratulate the staff of Marwah Studios and AAFT University for starting a new Radio Station from the hub of cinema and many creative activities – Mumbai,” expressed H. E. Dr. Ali Chegeni, Ambassador of Iran to India.

New Delhi: The key objective of a journalist is to gather information, write news pieces, and present the news in an honest and balanced manner. In addition to investigating and reporting on current events, they also work on articles and features that update and influence public opinion.,” said H.E. Roger Gopaul High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago at the Global Excellence Awards conducted by International Journalism Centre on 12th February- International Journalism Day.

“The right to information, to freedom of expression and criticism is one of the fundamental rights of man. All rights and duties of a journalist originate from this right of the public to be informed on events and opinions. The journalist’s responsibility towards the public excels any other responsibility, particularly towards employers and public authorities,” added Paresh Rughani Motivational Speaker from London Uk.

It is the role of journalist to inform, educate and stand as the voice of the people of the country. While journalism of different genres is a requirement, News journalism has an important role to play. A journalist has to be the voice that acts as a mediator between the people and the government,” added Dr. Sandeep Marwah Declaring the awards for senior journalists.

The Global Excellence Awards were presented to Late Kamal Khan,  Ajit Wadnerkar Sr. Journalist,  Dinesh Mansera. 5th Mahatma Gandhi National Award for Journalism Appreciated




New Delhi: “International Journalism Centre, a body of 20,000 media professionals from all over the World had been successful in declaring 12th February as the International Day of Journalism in 2011 during the year of its inception. To mark respect to the day, we created Global Festival of Journalism Noida, the biggest journalism mela in the World. IJC also constituted Citizen Journalism Award, Marwah Studios International Award for Journalism, Global Excellence Award for Journalism but the biggest and most prestigious is Mahatma Gandhi National Award for Journalism,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah IJC and GFJN 2022.

This year 5th Mahatma Gandhi National Award for Journalism goes to Veteran Padma Bhushan Prabhu Chawla the former Editor in Chief of India Today and Santosh Bhartia the editor of Chauthi Duniya presented by Sandeep Marwah in the presence of large audience from all over the World.

“I am humbled to receive this prestigious and popular award from International Journalism Centre and extend my hearties thanks to Dr. Marwah. Though I am not in active journalism, but I know that I cannot even live without being in it,” said Prabhu Chawla while accepting the award. He also mentioned the changing pattern of journalism and current situation of the newspapers and magazines which were one time playing a very important role in mending ways of society.

“It is my honor to be part of the event and then an award has added fuel to my life of journalist. I have been known as bold journalist and have no hesitation in facing consequences while writing truth,” added Santosh Bhartia Former Member of the Parliament on receiving 5th edition of Mahatma Gandhi National Award.

It enhances the feeling of loyalty towards the nation and aims at unifying people and media plays a very important role in uniting the country said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of 10th Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2022 in a seminar organised by International Journalism Centre titled National and International Integration through Media and 2nd Marwah Studios International Awards for Journalism.

Media globalization is the worldwide integration of media through the cross-cultural exchange of ideas, while technological globalization refers to the cross-cultural development and exchange of technology. The mass media are seen today as playing a key role in enhancing globalization, facilitating culture exchange and multiple flows of information and image between countries through international news broadcasts, television programming, new technologies, film and music” said General J.J. Singh former Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Guest of the Webinar.

Abdul Dewale Mohammad Founder ASSGON from London UK, Szeszler Szilvia Journalist from Budapest Hungary, Peter Ferris Film Maker from London UK, Dr. Lalit Sodha Senior Journalist London UK, Katianna Ley Actress Croatia and Dr. Muthmainnah Educationist Indonesia were the main speakers.

Marwah Studios International Award for Journalism were presented to Walid K A Allouh, Dr. Hassan Yousef Douhan, Hekmat Yousef Abu Zakri, Ahmed H.A. Adwan, and Hansen Hamdouna from Palestine, Bobby Naqvi, Anjana Sankar, Angel Tesorero, Suvam Pal, Mazhar Farooqui, Jinoy Jose and David Light from UAE, Shailendra B Singh and Kelvin Anthony from Fiji, Pavla Jazairiova from Czech Republic, Cristiana Terenche from Romania, Javed Hamim Kakar from Afghanistan and Eliza Nurmatova from Kyrgyzstan for their untiring contribution to journalism.

Opportunities and Challenges in Journalism Discussed at 10th GFJN

But what you have here is a well-curated exhibition of stellar images by some of the passionate photographers of AAFT,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah introducing exhibition by AAFT School of Mass Communication and Journalism.

“Remarkable pictures; better than many professionals. With the growing numbers in the communication channels, the numbers of audiences have also increased at a huge rate. Presently in India, journalism has become a prestigious career choice for many students. Journalism is a challenging field and it is playing a key role in the development of the nation,” said H.E. Sinisa Pavic Ambassador Designated for Serbia to India while inaugurating the exhibition.

 “The challenge for news reporters and editors is to provide accurate coverage as quickly as possible without publishing false or biased information. The journalism industry is rapidly changing, and journalism jobs could be affected by the changes coming to newspapers and online news outlets in the future,” said Shekhar Dutt former Governor of Chhattisgarh.“Every profession has its challenges same with journalism too.I am happy to be part of this sea of knowledge,” said Daniel Kohler, Head Culture & Diplomacy, Embassy of Brazil

“Journalism remains an essential occupation in the digital age, and whether you’re covering local stories or global events, you need to have certain qualities to do a great job. Conditions ranging from strong analytical skills, along with specialist knowledge, can help you become a successful journalist,” added Sandeep Panchpande of ASM Group of Institutes.

“The opportunities are endless in journalism today. Electronic media and social media has opened a golden opportunities for young journalist. You have to remember the biggest challenge is Headlines and Deadlines,” said Chaitanya Padukone, Film Journalist and Author from Mumbai giving examples from Bollywood.

Noida: The 5th edition of most prestigious National level awards for the excellence in journalism after the name of   Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi is going to be online this time on 12th February 2022-The International Day of Journalism as declared by International Journalism Centre.

“The awards are presented to the senior most journalist who all have actually spent their lives in the field of journalism and have created a wonderful niche for themselves. There are many veteran journalists who have not been honoured for their self-less services to the nation,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of 10th Global Festival of Journalism and Chair for 5th Mahatma Gandhi National Awards for Journalism.

The award has been constituted by Marwah Studios in association with International Journalism Centre only five years back when IJC realised the need to honour veterans with a very high profiled award. Need not forget that Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was also a journalist and used to write and publish papers in good old days. The event is supported by International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, AAFT University and Mahatma Gandhi Forum of Marwah Studios.

Noida: Exactly a year before International Journalism Centre and Marwah Studios together constituted Citizen Journalist Awards for all those who all have contributed to the growth of journalism not being a professional journalist on the occasion of thirty years of Marwah Studios,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios in a press conference.

The second edition of the same Citizen Journalist Awards 2022 is now going to be on the 10th of February during. 10th Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2022. This time also the awards are going to be  online as the country is going through the tough time under Covid and Omicron virus attack.

The list is being prepared of some of the best contributors to journalism by the jury. People who are involved with local papers, online interviews, news presentations, local short informative films are going to be the part of this award function. the event will be supported by International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry and AAFT University.

Noida: “We are working here at Marwah Studios for thirty years. Films, Television and Media have been the main course of business. Last year on the occasion of thirty years of Marwah Studios we, along with International Journalism Centre, constituted an award to honor journalist who have done a commendable job internationally,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios while addressing the management committee of 10th Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2022.

The 2nd Marwah Studios International Award for Journalism is scheduled for 11th February online. The recommendations and nominations are being received from different corners of the World. The jury will soon decide on the final list and will be declared on the final day.

Last year the awards were given to journalists from United Kingdom, United States of America, France, Syria, Nepal, Afghanistan, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, and Palestine. This year also applications have received from different countries.
