World Press Freedom Day Celebrated at Marwah Studios by International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry
Noida, India: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, in association with the International Journalism Centre and AAFT School of Journalism, proudly celebrated World Press Freedom Day on 3rd May at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.
The event served as a significant platform to highlight the importance of free, fair, and fearless journalism in shaping a progressive and democratic society. Eminent media professionals, academicians, and students came together to reflect on the evolving role of journalism in today’s fast-changing global landscape.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Journalism Centre, emphasized the vital responsibility of the media in safeguarding truth and upholding democratic values. He stated that a free press is the backbone of any strong nation and plays a crucial role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and informed citizenry.
The celebration reinforced the commitment of the organizing institutions toward nurturing ethical journalism and empowering future media professionals with the values of integrity, courage, and responsibility.
The program concluded with a collective pledge to continue supporting press freedom and strengthening the role of media as a pillar of democracy.
Biography on Sandeep Marwah Released During 11th Global Festival of Journalism
Noida: Sandeep Marwah is a renowned Indian film producer, director, and media personality. He is the founder of the Noida Film City, the fastest growing film and television production center, and the Marwah Studios, a leading creative house in India.
Marwah began his career as a theatre artist and went on to produce over ,3500 short films. He has been associated with several feature films and television programs. He is the recipient of numerous national and international awards for his contribution to the film industry.
Apart from his work in the entertainment industry, Marwah is also actively involved in social causes and has been appointed as the Global Cultural Ambassador by many different nations. He has also been recognized for his contribution to the field of education and was conferred with the honorary doctorate by several universities.
Marwah’s life and achievements have been documented in various biographical works, including the recently released biography titled “Sandeep Marwah: Ek Prerna,” which provides an in-depth insight into his journey in the film industry and his contribution to society written by Mamta Soni.
Lord Rami Ranger, Member of House of Lords, United Kingdom, HE Ashraf Shikhaliyev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to India, and HE Muhamed Cengic, Ambassador of Bosnia & Herzegovina released the book during second day of 11th Global Festival of Journalism 2023 at Marwah Studios.

Round Table on Television in New Millennium at 11th Global Festival of Journalism
Noida: Media is vital for spreading information, shaping public opinion, and providing a platform for diverse voices and perspectives. Television is the important segment of the same. Television has come a long way since its inception, and the new millennium has brought about significant changes to the medium. Today we are here to discuss television in this round table,” initiated Dr. Sandeep Marwah founder of Noida Film City and President Marwah Studios in the opening session of the discussion.
“ The transition from analog to digital broadcasting has completely changed the way television is transmitted and received. Digital signals provide better picture and sound quality, as well as increased channel capacity and interactivity,” said Lord Rami Ranger of House of Lords, British Parliament, while lighting the ceremonial lamp.
“The rise of streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime has revolutionized the way people consume television. Streaming services offer a wide variety of content, including original programming, and allow viewers to watch shows on their own schedule,” said H.E. Muhamed Cengic, Ambassador of Bosnia & Herzegovina to India.
“The introduction of smart TVs has transformed the viewing experience by combining the traditional TV with internet connectivity, allowing viewers to access streaming services, browse the web, and even control their smart homes from their TV screens,” added H.E. Ashraf Shikhaliyev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to India.
The new millennium saw the rise of reality television, with shows like Survivor and Big Brother becoming popular worldwide. This genre has since evolved to include a wide range of formats, from dating shows to talent competitions,” expressed Avinash Raj, CEO, Mitwa TV.
“Social media has had a profound impact on television, providing viewers with a platform to share their opinions and engage with their favourite shows and stars. Networks and producers have also embraced social media as a way to promote their shows and interact with their audiences,” narrated Ramnath Rajesh, senior journalist.
“ The advent of high-definition television has brought about a significant improvement in picture quality, with many networks and streaming services now offering content in 4K resolution.,“ extended Kumar Mohan, renowned film journalist from Mumbai.
“The availability of entire seasons of shows on streaming services has led to the phenomenon of binge-watching, where viewers watch multiple episodes or even entire seasons in one sitting,” spoke Prem Bhardwaj, Gyanbhiksu, renowned author.
“The ability to record shows and watch them later has become commonplace, with digital video recorders and on-demand services allowing viewers to watch shows at their convenience,” condensed Sushil Bharti of Radio Noida. Government of India has also created a AVGC promotion Task force. Karnataka was the first Indian state to announce an AVGC policy in 2012. The policy was initiated to promote the state as a lucrative outsourcing destination and attract venture capital funding in the AVGC sector informed Supriya Suri who has been organizing Animation Festival every year.

The Government of Karnataka has opened a Centre of Excellence that will provide State of the art facilities that will give the AVGC industry in Bengaluru and Karnataka a holistic technological boost. It will house a highly equipped AVGC post production lab providing the industry with resources to generate high quality content. The CoE will also have a finishing school that will train & provide highly skilled technicians to the companies in Karnataka, thus facilitating employment opportunities condensed Prof. Dr Suresh Chandra Nayak renowned academician.

Bhagat Singh was a trained journalist who started young. He began his journalistic journey working as an apprentice with well-known media organisations of his time, like Pratap and Vir Arjun. Significantly, he honed his journalistic craft under the editorship of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, a pioneer of radical journalism in India and a solid Gandhian political activist.
In his short, creative and meaningful journalistic career – which coincided with and ran parallel to his revolutionary political life – Singh, in varying capacities, was associated with more than a dozen prestigious newspapers and magazines that were published from different parts of the country. These included Kirti, Pratap, Maharathi, Vir Arjun, Matwala, Prabha, Akali, Chand, Bande Mataram, among others.

Inauguration of 11th Global Festival of Journalism Noida at Marwah Studios

Now not only in India but many foreign countries have already started celebrating 12th February as International Day of Journalism. We are overwhelmed with the success of the decision taken by International Journalism Centre,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University and President Global Festival of Journalism Noida on the formal inauguration of 11th edition of Global festival of Journalism Noida 2023 at Marwah Studios, Noida Film City.

Radio Mumbai Launched on International Day of Journalism
Mumbai: It was exact a year back when we launched Radio Raipur on the World Radio Day during the 9th Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2021. The success of Radio Noida and then Radio Raipur induced us to start third Radio Station after the name Radio Mumbai- The city of Dreams.
