Script Writing Workshop on Disability at Marwah Studios


Marwah Studios in association with a voluntary organization Brotherhood and Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) organized a Script Writing Workshop for the writers working on the subjects like disability at Noida Film City from August 23 to 27. The purpose of this workshop was to enhance the communication skills of the professionals on this subject.

“We understand our responsibility towards society and especially towards disable persons who have been ignored many times by the people in community. The workshop has developed the writing skills of many and got us some wonderful scripts on the subject to make short films” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.

“Brotherhood has been creating awareness about disability in schools, hospitals and communities through films. It has already organized seven film festivals on disability issues in India” said Satish Kapoor President of Brotherhood. The next We Care Film Festival’ is already planned with the support of AAFT, RCI, UNESCO, United Nations Information Centre and National Trust.

A team of experts from Asian Academy of Film And Television [AAFT] &Asian School of Media studies [ASMS] was drawn to conduct this powerful workshop at Noida Film City. R.K.Singh, Kalyan Sarkar, Rahul Sehgal, Lalit Kumar, Satish Anand, Ashok Tyagi, Mansoor Naqvi, Amit Prajapati were part of the faculty team. Dr. Om Gupta conducted the workshop.

WECARE FILMFEST 2010 On Disability Will Travel All Over India

“More than 100 short documentary films received on various issues of disability from all over the World and the preview Committee of We Care Filmfest 2010 finalized 32 short films for screening during the film festival which will be moving to all over India. Each documentary film has a story to tell, tales of dogged human spirit that has trumped against all odds” said Sandeep Marwah president of WECARE FILM FEST 2010 .


The preview committee had B B Nagpal, a Media and Film Critic, Shankar Choudhary (Sr. Programme Offricer UNESCO), Ms Saoirse, United Nation Volunteer (UNESCO), Sanjeev Upadhya, Media Professional and film maker ,Ms Deepa Jain (Psychologist and film maker), Ms. Gopa Mukherjee (Journalist and Film maker) and Abhinav Bajpai Head IT, AAFT) jury headed by Satish Kapoor Director of the festival.

“A world that truly embraces diversity is one where the rights, dignity, and well-being of individuals are realized regardless of differences in race, faith, gender – or ability. People living with disabilities often surprise us with their abilities, with what they can do rather than what they cannot, but not many tell their stories. To share a few minutes of their lives 7th We Care Filmfest will be held across the country under the theme Dignity and Justice for All” said Satish Kapoor the founder of the organization Brotherhood.

The festival is organized in association with the National Trust, Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT), United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), and the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will be travelling to about 12 locations in India, from February to mid-April 2010 including Delhi, NOIDA, Mumbai, Agra, Jaipur, Kolkata etc.
