Dr. Sandeep Marwah Inaugurates National Conference on North East’s Contribution & Potential Towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047New Delhi, 23rd August 2025: The Global Counter Terrorism Council (GCTC) successfully organized a high-profile National Conference on “Contribution & Potential of North East towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047” at the prestigious India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The conference brought together policymakers, academicians, senior administrators, diplomats, security experts, and thought leaders to deliberate on the pivotal role of India’s North Eastern region in shaping the country’s future vision of a developed nation by 2047 under the leadership of Aditya Tikoo.

The conference was formally inaugurated by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, renowned media personality, and advisor to several ministries of the Government of India.

In his inspiring inaugural address, Dr. Marwah underlined the importance of self-reliance as the cornerstone of national growth. He reminded the audience of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s call for Atma Nirbhar Bharat, and further expanded the thought with his well-known advocacy of “Be Indian, Buy Indian.” He stressed that the nation’s progress must be rooted in local empowerment, strengthening of indigenous industries, promotion of cultural and creative economies, and inclusive regional development. Dr. Marwah emphasized that the North East, with its rich cultural heritage, strategic location, natural resources, and dynamic youth population, has the potential to emerge as a powerhouse of growth and innovation, contributing significantly to the realization of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

The event was graced by several distinguished personalities, the Patrons of GCTC, who lent their vision and wisdom to the deliberations:

The discussions during the conference highlighted a range of issues such as connectivity, security, economic development, cultural diplomacy, and the role of youth in nation-building. Speakers underlined the need to integrate the North Eastern states more effectively into national development strategies, ensuring that their unique strengths contribute to India’s global rise.

The conference concluded with a shared commitment by the participants to work collectively towards harnessing the North East’s immense potential, aligning it with the vision of a prosperous, inclusive, and globally respected India by 2047.

GCTC Will Remain Indebted to Its Members- Sandeep Marwah

New Delhi: GCTC- Global Counter Terrorism Council will always remain indebted to its members for their sincere and untiring support to the organisation. Members have contributed to the development of the organisation and helped in fulfilling the aims and objectives of this voluntary association,” said Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University and founder executive member of GCTC on the occasion of celebration of 6th Founder’s Day of GCTC at Haryana Bhawan New Delhi.

“It was six years back when Aditya Tikoo proposed me to be the founder member of the organisation on a cup of tea at Marwah Studios. GCTC has grown very well and created a wonderful niche for itself in all these six years,” Marwah added while addressing the members in the conference.

Global Counter Terrorism Council is a registered non-profit International  Think Tank initiated by public spirited individuals to awaken further issues of national interest and global conscience about terrorism as a threat to humanity, human security etc.

Members belonging to different faculties & background like senior bureaucrats, academicians, officers from the armed forces & paramilitary services, distinguished diplomats, leading researchers, media analysts, parliamentarians, professionals, corporate heads, human rights groups provide support and regularly contribute with the aim to deliberate on the root causes of Global Terrorism and to present effective solutions to the problems faced by society and the government.

Asian Academy of Film & TV Signed MOU with GCTC

AAFT Signed MOU with GCTC in a Grand Function at Marwah Studios

New Delhi: AAFT- Asian Academy of Film and Television Noida and GCTC- Global Counter Terrorism Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together in different social, political, economic, educational, and other fields to conduct the research programs together for the benefit of society.

“I am happy GCTC will provide internship and then jobs to the students who are keen in developing their skills in research programs. Research is seeing what everybody else has seen and thinking what nobody else has thought. Research in the  defined areas will add a lot to the calibre of students and raise their level of thinking,” said Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT in a grand function at Marwah Studios.

“Global Counter Terrorism Council is an International Level Think Tank independent, non-partisan institution that promotes quality research and in-depth studies about issues like terrorism, human security, cyber security, energy security, water security etc. and is a platform for dialogue and conflict resolution,” Aditya Tikoo Chief Coordinator of the organization.

“It strives to bring together the best minds to ideate on key national and international issues that further the cause of peace and global harmony,” said Dr. Yogendra Narain former Secretary General Rajya Sabha and Chancellor H N B Garhwal University.

“Its research based credible, insightful and thought-provoking study command serious attention by policy and decision makers at the highest level in the government on defence security, safety, surveillance and international relations focussing on prevailing and developing strategies future scenarios in India and global,” added Rear Admiral Dr. Sanatan Kulshreshtha.

Later Col. Dr. Shailendra Singh Army Veteran, Kartikeya Sharma Executive Editor TV 9 Digital, Ajay Banerjee Senior Journalist The Tribune, Ashish Singh Anchor & Senior Journalist -Strategic Affairs and Prof. Dr. Kirti Singh expressed their views on the subject Mss Media: Catalyst for Enhancing National Security. Maj. Amit Bansal, Neetu Abrol, Ashok Khurana and Vijay Tikoo were also present there.
