National Day of Iceland Celebrated at ICMEI



 
ICMEI Congratulated Ambassador of Iceland

New Delhi: “I take this opportunity to extend my heartiest congratulations to H.E. Gudmundur Arni Stefansson Ambassador of Iceland to India and people of Iceland on the occasion of National Day of Iceland which falls on 17th June,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and ICMEI.

IIFCF- Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum & ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry are putting its best in developing and promoting relations between two countries through films, television, media, art and culture. A process of promoting Iceland through events like Festival of Films from Iceland, Scholarship to deserving student from Iceland have already taken place,” added Dr. Marwah Chair for Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum.

A special slot on Radio Noida and MSTV have been designed to talk about Iceland and India’s relations. Soon few programs will be broadcasted on these two powerful mediums to bring awareness of our relations to the common man in India.

AAFT Scholarship Offered to Student from Iceland

 Noida: The last Ambassador of Iceland to India H.E Thorir Ibsen inaugurated Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum at ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment at New Delhi.

“We have the opportunity to work with the last Ambassador and we could organize a film festival, a tourism interaction, launch students club on Iceland etc. Now we are planning to add few more things to our association,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI.

A scholarship of short-term course at AAFT- Asian Academy of Film And Television was presented to H.E. Gudmundur Stefansson Ambassador of Iceland to India during the official visit to the delegation to Embassy of Iceland.

“The scholarship include the foreign registration charges, course fee, boarding, lodging for three months and production charges for the deserving student as recommended by the Ambassador,” added Dr. Sandeep Marwah while handing over the scholarship at Marwah Studios.

“It is a great honor to be part of the chamber and I thank on behalf of my Government for the offer extended to the student of Iceland to study in India. We will work together to bring our friendship to next level,” said H.E. Gudmundur Arni Stefansson Ambassador of Iceland to India.

New Delhi: Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum extended his Patron ship to H.E. Gudmundur Arni Stefansson Ambassador of Iceland to India during the visit of ICMEI delegation to Embassy of Iceland in New Delhi.

A delegation of ICMEI visited the Embassy of Iceland in New Delhi and briefed the Ambassador about the formation of Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah Presented the Patron ship to the new Ambassador and asked to advice on the next step under Indo Iceland relations.

“We are honored to present the patron ship of IIFCF to H.E. Gudmundur Arni Stefansson and confidant that we will grow under his leadership. We are planning bigger programs to propagate our relationship World wide,” said Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI.

“I am thankful to ICMEI especially Sandeep Marwah for his continuous support to Government of Iceland by way of art and culture diplomacy. We appreciate his efforts,” said H.E. Gudmundur Arni Stefansson.

New Delhi: Renowned Cultural Icon Sandeep Marwah honored and nominated by H.E. Thorir Ibsen Ambassador of Iceland to India with accreditation to Bangladesh, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal, Seychelles, South Africa and Sri Lanka, as the Chairperson of newly formed Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum.

Sandeep Marwah is the President of World renowned Marwah Studios associated with more than 150 countries of the World when it comes to films, television and Media. He is the recipient of more than 500 awards from India and all over the World for his sincere & untiring contribution to films, television, media, skill development, fashion and design, Animation, Performing Arts, Journalism, Hospitality and Tourism and promotion of arts and culture.

He is the founder of Noida Film City, Marwah Studios, Asian Academy of Film And Television and another 100 organizations related to media. He is a well known social worker and philanthropist in his thinking. Marwah is a teacher to more than 12000 media professionals hailing from 120 countries.

“It is a great honor to be honored and nominated by Government of Iceland. I will prove soon that I am responsible enough to be designated as Chair person of Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum,” said Sandeep Marwah.

“Sandeep Marwah is the most appropriate person for heading this organization. His contribution in promoting art and culture cannot be ignored at any stage of time,” said H.E. Ibsen.

New Delhi: Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios has presented H.E. Thorir Ibsen Ambassador of Iceland to India with accreditation to Bangladesh, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal, Seychelles, South Africa and Sri Lanka with the Patronship of Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum.

Thorir was earlier Ambassador of Iceland to the European Union and to Belgium with accreditation to Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland, from 2011 to 2014. He was Ambassador of Iceland to France with accreditation to Andorra, Italy and Spain. Before that he was Permanent Representative of Iceland to the OECD, Permanent Delegate of Iceland to UNESCO and Permanent Representative of Iceland to the Council of Europe. from 2009 to 2011.
   
Thorir had also been Head of International Affairs Division, Ministry for the Environment, Policy Counsellor, Ministry for the Environment, Producer, Icelandic Broadcasting Service and taught political science and economics at Université canadienne en France and at York University.

“ We are proud to be associated with Ambassador Thorir. His experience in diplomacy will help us in growing through IIFCF,” said Sandeep Marwah.

Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum Formed

New Delhi: ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry created a new chapter in the history of India and Iceland relationship by forming a first ever Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum at New Delhi.

H.E. Thorir Ibsen Ambassador of Iceland to India launched the forum in a grand function at New Delhi. “What a pleasure to do something which has never ever been taken place earlier-this time this forum has been created to promote and develop the relation between two countries through art and culture. I wish ICMEI all the best and I am sure we will be able to do something extra ordinary in short period of time,” said Ambassador Thorir Ibsen.

.Iceland and India established diplomatic relations in 1972. At that time the embassy of Iceland in London, United Kingdom was accredited to India and the embassy of India in Oslo, Norway, was accredited to Iceland. Embassies were established in New Delhi in 2005 and in Reykjavik in 2006.

“It is great opportunity to work with the Embassy here and promote each others arts and crafts including cinema now. We have already organized a film festival of films from Iceland earlier. A special road show was also organized on the tourism of Iceland. H.E. Thorir Ibsen is also the member of International Film And Television Club of AAFT. We are looking much ahead of this now,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.

Sandeep Marwah presented the Patron ship of Indo Iceland Film And Cultural Forum to H.E. Thorir Ibsen and Ambassador nominated Sandeep Marwah as the honorary Chairperson of the Forum.

Recently Akshay Marwah of Asian Education Group also visited Iceland to study more about Iceland and its culture.
