Azerbaijan’s Cultural Elegance Shines at 10th Global Fashion & Design Week at AAFT

Noida, India: The spirit of global fashion and cultural unity continued to dazzle audiences as the AAFT School of Fashion and Design, in association with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, presented an extraordinary showcase during the 10th Global Fashion and Design Week at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.

Celebrated on the occasion of Asian Unity Day, declared by the Asian Unity Alliance, Day 1’s 3rd Show, Sequence 2, highlighted the rich heritage of Azerbaijan through an exquisite collection by designer Himanshi Bhati.

The showcase was supported by the Indo Azerbaijan Film and Cultural Forum, which contributed to the research and conceptual development of the presentation. AAFT students played an integral role in executing the show, managing ramp walk, modelling, makeup, jewellery, and hairstyling—demonstrating a holistic approach to fashion education.

The collection beautifully captured the essence of Azerbaijani culture, blending traditional elegance with contemporary silhouettes. Flowing forms echoed historic garments, while intricate textures reflected the nation’s renowned carpet artistry and craftsmanship. A sophisticated muted palette was enhanced with subtle metallic accents, inspired by Azerbaijan’s architectural heritage and symbolic association with fire.

Structured layering combined with fluid drapes created a striking balance between strength and grace, presenting designs that celebrate identity, heritage, and modern expression with refined sophistication.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the Fashion Week, praised the creative excellence on display, stating, “Fashion is a powerful medium of cultural diplomacy. Showcasing the heritage of Azerbaijan through such innovative designs reflects the global vision of AAFT and our commitment to promoting unity through art and creativity.”

The show received enthusiastic appreciation for its artistic depth, craftsmanship, and contemporary interpretation, further strengthening AAFT’s position as a global platform for emerging fashion talent.

Sandeep Marwah Invited by Indian Embassy at Baku

Baku: Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and Chancellor of University of Media And Arts was recently invited by the Embassy of India in Baku,  on his recent visit to Azerbaijan.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah briefed   the officers about the formation of Indo Azerbaijan Film And Cultural Forum and its activities in New Delhi, India by ICMEI and Embassy of Azerbaijan in India.

“We are pleased to inform you about the birth of Indo Azerbaijan Film And Cultural Forum by International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry in association with Art And Culture Forum. The forum has recently presented  one scholarship to the deserving student to learn cinema in India at AAFT which also includes boarding and lodging. This is after a powerful film festival which has taken place in Marwah Studios,” informed Sandeep Marwah.

“We have created students committee on Azerbaijan in School of Cinema, Journalism and fashion school. A fashion show showcasing dresses from Azerbaijan was also projected during last Global Fashion Week by ICMEI,” added Marwah.

Sandeep Marwah presented his books of accolades and achievements to P.K.Govinndan and Amit Pandey of Embassy of India. “We appreciate the interest ICMEI and Sandeep Marwah have been taking in developing relation between two countries. We wish you all the success in your endeavors,” said P.K.Govindan.
