Indo Bahamas Film and Cultural Forum Congratulates The People of Bahamas on Independence Day

New York: The Indo Bahamas Film and Cultural Forum, under the aegis of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), extends its warmest congratulations to the people of the Bahamas on the occasion of their Independence Day, celebrated on July 10th. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI, conveyed his heartfelt greetings to Mr. Ashish Saraf, Consul General of the Bahamas in India, and to the entire Bahamian nation on this joyous occasion.

In his congratulatory message, Dr. Marwah highlighted the significance of the Bahamas’ Independence Day, which marks the country’s declaration of independence from the United Kingdom in 1973. “On behalf of the art and culture fraternity of India and ICMEI, I extend my best wishes to the people of the Bahamas. Independence Day is a momentous occasion that symbolizes the spirit of freedom, unity, and resilience,” said Dr. Marwah.

Dr. Marwah emphasized the strong cultural and diplomatic ties between India and the Bahamas, underscoring the role of cultural forums in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation. “The Indo Bahamas Film and Cultural Forum is dedicated to promoting cultural exchange and collaboration between our two countries. Through various initiatives, including film festivals, cultural programs, and artistic collaborations, we aim to celebrate and share the rich cultural heritage of the Bahamas and India,” he added.

The Indo Bahamas Film and Cultural Forum, an initiative of ICMEI, has been actively working towards enhancing cultural ties and fostering artistic collaborations between India and the Bahamas. The forum provides a platform for artists, filmmakers, and cultural enthusiasts from both nations to showcase their talents and share their stories.

“We look forward to continuing our work with the Bahamas, exploring new avenues for cooperation, and celebrating the vibrant cultural tapestry of our nations. Together, we can build a stronger and more interconnected world,” Dr. Marwah concluded.

Indo Bahamas Cultural Forum Celebrated Independence Day of Bahamas

New Delhi: “I on behalf of Indian Media and Entertainment Industry and Art & Culture Fraternity of India take this opportunity to extend my heartiest congratulations to Shri Ashish Saraf Hon. Consul General of Bahamas in India and the people of Bahamas on the occasion of Independence Day which falls on 10th July,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry celebrating the day at Chamber.

The Bahamas and India have always supported each other at various international and multilateral fora such as the United Nations. As of now, around 350 Indians reside in The Bahamas. The community is mostly made up of professionals, and are well integrated in Bahamian society. Around 2000 Indian tourists visited The Bahamas in 2019..

Not very long ago Indo Bahamas Film And Cultural Forum was formed to bring people of two countries close to each other through art and culture. All efforts have been made to interact between the cultural organisations. A festival of films from Bahamas has been designed to be launched  immediately once Covid Position is normal in India. The country of Bahamas has been partners with International Film And Television Club, International Journalism Centre and Asian Academy of Arts in all the major events including Global Film Festival, Global Festival of Journalism, Global Literary Festival and Global Fashion Week.

National Day of Bahamas Celebrated at ICMEI


New Delhi: ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry celebrated the National Day of Bahamas in a joint meeting on the Web and congratulated the Consul General Ashish Saraf and the people of Bahamas on this auspicious day.

“I on behalf of ICMEI and media and entertainment industry of India extend my heartiest congratulations to Ashish Saraf the first ever Honorary Consul of The Commonwealth of Bahama in India and the people of Bahamas on the National day which falls on 10th July. India and Bahamas have a strong ties and I wish a very durable cultural and business relations between the two countries,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chair for Indo Bahamas Film And Cultural Forum.

Bahamas is a beautiful place to visit said Dr. Marwah recollecting his last visit to Bahamas many years back with popular Indian bollywood stars. A discussion was on with the good office of Consul General as to how more cultural activities can be planned after pandemic is over. A festival of films from Bahamas is now under pipeline after delivering a scholarship to the deserving student from Bahamas to study cinema in AAFT University in India.

Noida:  ICMEI and its complete team presented Patronship to Ashish Saraf the Head of the Mission Republic of Bahamas to India in a grand function at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.

“We are sure that Indo Bahamas Film And Cultural Forum will progress under the patronship of Ashish Saraf Cosul Republic of Bahamas, he will be our guide and will be able to suggest the best,” said Sandeep Marwah Chair for IBFCF.

Ashish Saraf is a global citizen. After completing his Bachelor of Engineering Degree he was inducted in the family business in Shreeram nagar wherein he learnt the ropes of business under the able leadership of his father Shri R.K. Saraf and his philanthropist mother Smt. Promila Saraf. Whilst working he undertook a programme in Harvard Business School and got a fellowship of the Owner/ President Management Programme in 1996.

Today he is the Managing Director of the 60year old Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd. He is also the CEO of FACOR Global Pte. Ltd. which is an international trading and firm and undertakes financial advisory services for global investments. 

He currently lives between New Delhi, London and Singapore and has the distinction of being the first Indian to hold 2 Diplomatic positions and was the first ever Honorary Consul of the Republic of Maldives from 2002-2005 and then was appointed as the first ever Honorary Consul of The Commonwealth of Bahamas in 2006 and continues to hold the same position till date.

He was also awarded Knight of the Civil Merit Order, which is the highest civilian award, by King Felipe VI of the kingdom of Spain on July 17, 2014 for his endless endeavors in promoting bilateral business between Spain and India.

Sandeep Marwah Honored And Nominated Chair for IBFCF


Noida: Renowned film and media personality and the only Indian to be honored bt largest number of International awards and accolades once again honored and nominated as the Chair of Indo Bahamas Film And Cultural Forum.

I have been following the activities of Sandeep Marwah  who has been representing India in the largest number of countries as far as media and entertainment industry is concerned. His expertise will add to the relations between India and Bahamas,” said Ashish Saraf Head of the Mission of Bahamas to India.

I am much obliged to Ashish Saraf for trusting me to that extent and nominated me  as the representative of Bahamas in India. I will soon create a series of program to give a kick start to this forum,” said Sandeep Marwah accepting the memento.

Ashok Tyagi Secretary General of ICMEI prepared the   Memorandum of Association in association with office of the Consul of Bahamas in India. A copy of  profile of Sandeep Marwah in the form of two books was handed over to the good office of Bahamas.

Indo Bahamas Film And Cultural Forum Launched


Noida: International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry in association with Consulate of Bahamas in India inaugurated Indo Bahamas Film And Cultural Forum at Marwah Studios. It was another feather in the cap of ICMEI when Honorary Consul of Bahamas Ashish Saraf inaugurated the first ever chapter of its kind in India under the leadership of Sandeep Marwah.

“I am feeling privileged and obliged to ICMEI for taking initiative in building better relations between India and Bahamas by starting Indo Bahamas Film And Cultural Forum,” said Ashish Saraf Honorary Consul of Bahamas in India.

“Both India and the Bahamas are members of NAM, G-77, WIPO, WTO (Observer), the United Nations, and its various subsidiary bodies. With democratic governance, respect for rule of law, and rights of their people, both share similar aspirations for accelerated economic growth, eradication of poverty, improvement in quality of life of their people, and promotion of equity,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios at the launching function.

Sandeep Marwah was nominated as the chair of the organization and later Sandeep Marwah announced Ashish Saraf Head of The Mission Bahamas as the Patron to the organization. A talk by Ashish Saraf was organized at Asian Academy of Film And Television soon after the launching function.

New Delhi: A well-known film personality Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry on Tuesday extended best wishes to The Bahamas on their National Day. The official letter of congratulatory message was sent to the consulate office.

 “We cherish our warm relations with The Bahamas & see a great scope for expanding our ties which can benefit our people. The Bahamas observe July 10 as the National Day to commemorate the nation’s independence from the United Kingdom in 1973.

Marwah also announced to start Indo Bahamas Film And Cultural Forum and  the first scholarship of AAFT for the deserving student from Bahamas to learn cinema as there is no student from Bahamas to India. A poster of friendship was released at Marwah Studios at Film City Noida.
