Hollywood Filmmaker Govind K. Saji Conducts Inspiring Workshop at AAFT School of Cinema

Noida: The AAFT School of Cinema hosted an enriching and interactive workshop by acclaimed filmmaker Govind K. Saji from Los Angeles, USA, providing students with a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of international filmmaking practices and creative storytelling techniques.

During the session, Govind K. Saji shared his experiences from the film industry and offered deep insights into the art and craft of filmmaking. He also presented and discussed his acclaimed film “Khadima – The Caregiver,” explaining the creative process, script development, character building, visual storytelling, and cinematic vision behind the project. The screening and discussion enabled students to understand the practical aspects of filmmaking and the challenges involved in bringing meaningful stories to the screen.

The workshop was conducted by Vikas Singh, Dean, AAFT School of Cinema, who welcomed the guest and emphasized the importance of learning from experienced professionals working in the global film industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair of the Indo-American Film and Cultural Forum and President of Marwah Studios, highlighted the significance of international collaborations in film education. “Exposure to global cinema and interaction with accomplished filmmakers enriches the learning experience of students and broadens their creative horizons. We are delighted to welcome Govind K. Saji to AAFT and appreciate his efforts in sharing his knowledge and expertise with our aspiring filmmakers. Such sessions inspire students to think creatively and pursue excellence in the field of cinema,” said Dr. Marwah.

Govind K. Saji encouraged students to remain passionate about storytelling, continuously refine their craft, and embrace innovation in filmmaking. He also answered numerous questions from students, making the session highly interactive and insightful.

The workshop concluded with a lively discussion on contemporary cinema, emerging technologies in filmmaking, and career opportunities in the global entertainment industry. Students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to learn from an internationally recognized filmmaker and described the session as both educational and inspiring.

Phil Murphy, Governor of the State of New Jersey, USA, and First Lady Tammy Murphy to India, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts and Chair for the Indo–American Film and Cultural Forum, had an exclusive meeting with the Governor at Hotel Oberoi, New Delhi.

Noida / New York, September 2025: The Asian Law College (ALC), under the aegis of Asian Education Group, in association with the Indo–USA Film and Cultural Forum, organized a thought-provoking workshop featuring the distinguished international lawyer Maja Groff from New York, USA. The session was further graced by the presence of Mr. Kazem Samandari of La Opera.

Maja Groff, a celebrated lawyer and a product of Harvard University, currently practicing in New York, delivered an insightful lecture on International Law and its Applications in the UK and USA. She elaborated on the dynamic role of international law in dispute resolution, cross-border issues, and global governance, encouraging students to think beyond boundaries and embrace global perspectives in their legal careers. “Law today is not confined to borders; it is about creating frameworks that foster justice, peace, and cooperation internationally,” she remarked.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Asian Law College and Founder of Marwah Studios, welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the importance of such workshops. “Exposure to international law through global leaders like Maja Groff adds tremendous value to the education of our law students. Filmi Interaction with Film Makers at Marwah Studios

Noida, India — Marwah Studios once again became the hub of creativity and international collaboration as acclaimed filmmakers came together for a special interaction session. Present at the occasion were AAFTian Tushar Tyagi, director of internationally appreciated short films Saving Chintu and Lali; Hollywood Producer Dru Davis, known for the Academy Award-winning The Trial of the Chicago 7; and distinguished writer Anupma Bhardhwaj.

Welcoming the dignitaries, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University, recalled his own cinematic milestones. He highlighted Marwah Studios’ contribution to India’s first Oscar-winning short film Smile Pinky, where the studio worked on graphics, animation, opening and closing titles, and post-production. He also mentioned the visit of  students of the Asian School of Business to the prestigious University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts, California, and his honour at the Cairo International Festival alongside international icons Lucy Liu, Samuel L. Jackson, and Salma Hayek.

Sharing his journey, Tushar Tyagi expressed heartfelt gratitude to AAFT, crediting the institution’s education and training for shaping his career and taking him to new professional heights. Dru Davis admired the world-class infrastructure and facilities at AAFT and extended his appreciation for the institution’s contribution to global cinema. Meanwhile, Anupma Bhardhwaj expressed her deep interest in penning a book on the remarkable journey of Dr. Sandeep Marwah.
