Hollywood Filmmaker Govind K. Saji Conducts Inspiring Workshop at AAFT School of Cinema

Noida: The AAFT School of Cinema hosted an enriching and interactive workshop by acclaimed filmmaker Govind K. Saji from Los Angeles, USA, providing students with a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of international filmmaking practices and creative storytelling techniques.

During the session, Govind K. Saji shared his experiences from the film industry and offered deep insights into the art and craft of filmmaking. He also presented and discussed his acclaimed film “Khadima – The Caregiver,” explaining the creative process, script development, character building, visual storytelling, and cinematic vision behind the project. The screening and discussion enabled students to understand the practical aspects of filmmaking and the challenges involved in bringing meaningful stories to the screen.

The workshop was conducted by Vikas Singh, Dean, AAFT School of Cinema, who welcomed the guest and emphasized the importance of learning from experienced professionals working in the global film industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair of the Indo-American Film and Cultural Forum and President of Marwah Studios, highlighted the significance of international collaborations in film education. “Exposure to global cinema and interaction with accomplished filmmakers enriches the learning experience of students and broadens their creative horizons. We are delighted to welcome Govind K. Saji to AAFT and appreciate his efforts in sharing his knowledge and expertise with our aspiring filmmakers. Such sessions inspire students to think creatively and pursue excellence in the field of cinema,” said Dr. Marwah.

Govind K. Saji encouraged students to remain passionate about storytelling, continuously refine their craft, and embrace innovation in filmmaking. He also answered numerous questions from students, making the session highly interactive and insightful.

The workshop concluded with a lively discussion on contemporary cinema, emerging technologies in filmmaking, and career opportunities in the global entertainment industry. Students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to learn from an internationally recognized filmmaker and described the session as both educational and inspiring.

The event further reinforced AAFT School of Cinema’s commitment to providing world-class exposure and practical learning experiences to the next generation of filmmakers.

New Delhi, 4th July 2025: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), along with the Indo American Film and Cultural Forum, proudly extends its warmest congratulations to Mr. Jorgan K. Additionally, he is a proud recipient of a prestigious award from the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University — a global leader in creative education.

Noida: A remarkable milestone was celebrated at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida, with the grand inauguration of the 123rd AAFT Festival of Short Digital Films, a legacy initiative that continues to empower young filmmakers and promote cinematic creativity globally.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Founder-President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, expressed pride in the festival’s enduring impact. “We are proud to have broken our own record with the 123rd edition of this unique festival, where more than 3,500 directors and 15,000 technicians from over 100 countries have been given the golden opportunity to present their debut films. This platform has become a global landmark in short digital filmmaking,” said Dr. Marwah during the inaugural ceremony.

The event was graced by H.E. Fernando Bucheli, Ambassador of Ecuador to India, as the Chief Guest, who applauded AAFT’s role in fostering international cultural exchange through cinema. “Platforms like these not only showcase emerging talent but also strengthen the bonds between nations through the power of storytelling,” he stated.

Renowned documentary filmmaker, photographer, and writer Shivani Pandey commended the festival’s role in encouraging new voices in visual storytelling, emphasizing the importance of grassroots platforms in nurturing authentic content.

Mahalaxmi Mishra, Coordinator of the Indo Cambodia Film and Cultural Forum of ICMEI, highlighted the cultural diplomacy initiatives tied to the festival, stressing how it continues to bridge global communities through film.

Adding an international legal perspective, Dr. Srinivas Rao Kaveti from the USA, a distinguished lawyer and guest of honor, spoke about the significance of intellectual property protection in the digital age and its relevance to emerging filmmakers.

National Cinema Day Celebrated at AAFT School of Cinema with Industry Leaders

Noida, India – The AAFT School of Cinema marked National Cinema Day with a grand celebration at Noida Film City, featuring insights from prominent figures in the global film industry. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, led the event with a powerful keynote address on the vital role of cinema in shaping society and culture.

“Show business is the best business, and cinema is the most profound way to express ideas. It stands as the biggest brother of communication,” remarked Dr. Marwah during his address. Highlighting India’s global cinematic presence, he added, “We are the largest film-producing country in the world, with over 2,000 films made annually in 28 different languages. India’s 8,000 theatres entertain around 10 million people every day, with 5 billion tickets sold each year.”

The event was attended by students, faculty, and special guests, all united in their passion for cinema and its impact on communication and culture.

Dr. Ajit Pathak, President of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), spoke about the symbiotic relationship between cinema and public relations. “Cinema not only entertains but also plays a pivotal role in shaping public opinion. It is a tool that connects people with stories and causes, fostering a deeper understanding of societal issues.”

Mike Berry of Universal Studios, Los Angeles, USA, also shared his thoughts, emphasizing the global influence of Indian cinema. “Indian cinema has a unique power to transcend borders and connect with audiences worldwide. The scale of its production and the diversity of its stories are truly impressive, and it continues to be a source of inspiration for filmmakers globally.”

The National Cinema Day celebration served as a platform for aspiring filmmakers and media professionals to engage with industry veterans and understand the evolving landscape of cinema. The event concluded with a vibrant Q&A session, where students gained valuable insights into the future of filmmaking, distribution, and the integration of technology in storytelling.

Chicago, USA:  Renowned figure in the world of creative arts, Sandeep Marwah, was recognized for his remarkable contributions spanning over 48 years by the esteemed Chicago Open University, USA. The prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Mr. Marwah by Dr. Ravi Gupta, representing Chicago Open University, and Bhavna Gupta, Special Envoy from Dubai, in a ceremony filled with accolades and admiration.

Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, reflected on his journey in the creative realm, beginning from his early days after graduating from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, New Delhi, in 1975. His passion for the arts led him through professional theatre, television, and eventually into the world of cinema, where he left an indelible mark. Undeterred by challenges, he remained steadfast in his dedication to arts and culture, even throughout his academic pursuits at Bhagat Singh College and other institutions.

In 1986,  Marwah envisioned and designed the iconic Noida Film City, laying the foundation for a hub of cinematic excellence. This endeavour was followed by the establishment of Marwah Studios in 1991, a testament to his vision and commitment to the film industry. Furthermore, his foray into creative education in 1993 paved the way for the establishment of AAFT and numerous organizations dedicated to various facets of the creative arts.

With over a thousand accolades to his name, Marwah’s impact transcends borders, as he tirelessly represents India’s creative industry on the global stage and vice versa. His unparalleled achievements have been recognized in esteemed institutions worldwide, including seven honors in the British Parliament, seven times in Hungary, honoured in Wales Parliament, Munich Parliament, as well as acknowledgments from dignitaries such as the Presidents of USA, Cyprus, , Mongolia, Trinidad & Tobago, Afghanistan, Luxembourg,  India  and Prime Minister of Nepal . Notably, he has been appreciated by the President of Croatia, Gambia, Nigeria, among numerous other international figures, and has been studied as a case study in 27 countries.

The ceremony was attended by the esteemed management of Marwah Studios, along with notable social worker Rakesh Agarwal, underscoring the significance of Marwah’s contributions to society.
