ICMEI Extends Congratulations to Ghana on the Occasion of Independence Day

New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), extended his heartiest congratulations on behalf of the media and entertainment industry and the art and culture fraternity of India to H.E. Prof. Kwasi Obiri Danso High Commissioner of Ghana and the people of Ghana on the joyous occasion of the Independence Day of Ghana, celebrated on 6th March.

Dr. Marwah conveyed his warm wishes while highlighting the growing cultural relations between India and Ghana through media, art, and cultural exchanges. He emphasized that the Indo Ghana Film and Cultural Forum, under the aegis of ICMEI, has been actively contributing to strengthening bilateral cultural ties between the two nations.

“The Indo Ghana Film and Cultural Forum has been doing remarkable work and has been a valuable partner with ICMEI in almost every major international activity,” said Dr. Marwah. “The forum has actively supported and participated in major global platforms including the Global Film Festival, Global Festival of Journalism, Global Literary Festival, Global Fashion and Design Week, and the International Documentary Film Festival among several other initiatives.”

Dr. Marwah expressed confidence that the cultural and creative collaboration between India and Ghana will continue to flourish through cinema, literature, media, and art, further strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

New Delhi/Noida, July 2025: The Indo Ghana Film and Cultural Forum, an esteemed initiative of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), proudly extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Louis Kwame Obeng, Deputy Head of Mission, High Commission of Ghana in India and the people of Ghana on the momentous visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi to the Republic of Ghana.

This historic visit, marking the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Ghana in over three decades, is a significant milestone in the annals of Indo-Ghanaian relations. Prime Minister Modi was warmly received by President Dr. John Dramani Mahama at Jubilee House in Accra, where the two leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions—both restricted and delegation-level—to elevate the bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Partnership.

The Indo Ghana Film and Cultural Forum, established seven years ago under the visionary leadership of Dr. Sandeep Marwah—President of Marwah Studios and Chair of the Forum—has been instrumental in fostering cultural diplomacy and enhancing people-to-people ties between India and Ghana. Indo Ghana Film and Cultural Forum Hosts Screening of “Otokunor” at 17th Global Film Festival

Noida, India  – The Indo Ghana Film and Cultural Forum, in collaboration with the International Film and Television Club, proudly presented the screening of the feature film “Otokunor”, directed by renowned filmmaker Khwame Kyei Baffour, at the 17th Global Film Festival Noida (GFFN). The event took place at Marwah Film City in a jam-packed auditorium filled with filmmakers, cinema enthusiasts, students, and passionate lovers of film.

Conrad Nanakajo Asidu, First Secretary at the High Commission of Ghana, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor. During his address, he expressed his appreciation for the collaborative platform provided by the festival, highlighting the growing cultural and cinematic ties between India and Ghana.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Festival Director of the 17th Global Film Festival and President of Marwah Studios, expressed his delight at hosting this unique screening. “It is an honor to showcase such exceptional cinema that reflects the diverse cultural narratives of Ghana and strengthens the bond between our nations through the universal language of film,” said Dr. Marwah.

AAFT Showcases Culinary Delights from Ghana at the 17th Global Film Festival Noida

Noida, India – The 17th Global Film Festival Noida (GFFN) featured a vibrant Food Festival celebrating the rich culinary heritage of Ghana. Organized by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) in association with the AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism and the International Film and Television Club (IFTC), the event took place at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida.

Cuisines from Ghana were prominently displayed, offering attendees a unique opportunity to experience the country’s diverse flavors. The Food Festival, a highlight of the Global Film Festival, aimed to strengthen cultural ties and foster international collaboration through culinary arts.

The festival was inaugurated by Conrad Nanakajo Asidu, First Secretary at the High Commission of Ghana. “We have developed wonderful relations with Ghana under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Michael Aaron N. N. Oquaye Esq (Jnr) the former Ghana’s High Commissioner to India, with concurrent responsibility for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Maldives. On the 6 March 1957 Kwame Nkrumah declared to the people of Ghana about their freedom, he added that, “the African People are capable of managing their own affairs and Ghana our beloved country is free forever. Ghana was the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to achieve its independence from European colonial rule.

AAFT India UDS Ghana Signed MOU to Support Unpriveldged

Busan: “UDS was borne out of the new thinking in higher education which emphasizes the need for universities to play a more active role in addressing problems of the society, particularly in the rural areas,” said Prof. Gabriel Ayum Teye Vice Chancellor, University For Development Studies, Ghana at the World Education Leaders Forum during World Cultural Camp at Busan, South Korea offering MOU to AAFT.

 

“The indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum of ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry is growing better and bigger every day. This is another feather in the cap of IGFCF and AAFT when we two AAFT University and University For Development Studies are going to work for the support of downtrodden and unprivileged people in both the countries,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor AAFT University of Media And Arts.

 

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two institutions of India and Ghana to develop and promote relation between two countries. The High Commissioner of Ghana to India H.E. Michael Aaron Oquaye was also informed about this association.

India and Ghana Will Work Together in Education

Busan; “The formation of a powerful organization like - Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum includes promotion of Films, television, media, environment, skill development, tourism, fashion & design, art and culture and the most important education. We jiust cannot leave this opportunity to join hands with famous Tamale College of Education in Ghana to promote education,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Asian Education Group at World Education Leaders Forum at Busan South Korea during World Cultural Camp.

 

“What a pleasure to meet international educationist Dr. Sandeep Marwah from Republic of India. We have heard the name of AAFT and today is the D- Day when we are joining hands with AAFT for the promotion of education and relations with India,” said Suleman Iddrisu of Tamale College of Education, ACCRA, Ghana while signing the MOU between the two institutions.

 

The two governments of India and Ghana have already signed treaty to support each other in the field of art and culture including education. This is in continuation to the same arrangements.

 

Tamale CoE was opened in 1958 with the motto ‘Ora et Labora’ by the first president of the Republic of Ghana. Sixty female pioneer students were enrolled in the college that year, and it remained a female institution until 1977. Tamale Training College has the vision to become a leading institution for the professional training of well disciplined, dedicated and academically qualified teachers for Ghana.

Independence Day is an official state holiday celebrated by the Ghanaians and the Ghanaian diaspora, which is celebrated on March 6 every year. Independence Day marks the declaration of independence from British colonial rule, by Prime Minister Kwame Nkrumah on 6th March 1957. Ghana became the first sub-Saharan African country to achieve independence from British colonial rule.

New Delhi:  Ghana High Commission recently hosted the launch of Gurdip Hari’s new book ‘Go Back to Nature & Heal Your Self’. Gurdip Hari released his book in the presence of HE Michael A.N.N. Oquaye Jr the Ghana High Commissioner to India and Sandeep Marwah Director Asian Academy of Film & Television. Bliss In Unity published this book. There are seven chapters in the book.

Gurdip Hari, an Indian-Ghananian entrepreneur turned author, is a man on a mission to help his fellow traveler on Earth find true eternal success in every area of their lives by transforming their health. In this book he talks about self-healing, personal and timeless universal secrets on how to reach the heights of success and prosperity, and live a fulfilled, healthy and happy life.

New Delhi: The recent visit of film delegation from Ghana, political & business delegation visit just a month back, Promotion of Ghana as film location by ICMEI, entertaining officials and people from art and culture from Ghana by Sandeep Marwah has given a new shape to Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum.

“We the People of Republic of Ghana honor Sandeep Marwah for his contribution towards promotion of relationship between two countries and present him with this award today in the presence of august audience,” said H.E. Mr. Michael Aaron N.N. Oquaye Jnr., High Commissioner of Ghana to India

It has been many years that Sandeep Marwah has been entertaining people from
Ghana. The most important public functions of India like Global Film Festival, Global Festival of Journalism, Global Fashion Week, Global Festival of Journalism, International Festival of Cellphone Cinema, AAFT Festival of Short Digital Films and Global Summits on different subjects of United Nations have been the host at Marwah Studios.

The National President of Film Directors Guild of Ghana (FDGG) Richard Yaw Boateng came along with Haruna Seidu Soale Greater Accra Regional Chairman (FDGG), Ernest Ackom Ag. General Secretary [FDGG] and Daniel Fiifi Jayden Communications Director (FDGG) were there at Marwah Studios

Noida: Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry announced and handed over the AAFT scholarship to the Film delegation from Ghana to India.

“I am pleased to hand over the first scholarship of AAFT short term course of three months to    Richard Yaw Boatteng leader of the delegation as a gesture of building a very strong relations with Ghana under Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum,” said Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios.

The leader of the delegation was the National President of Film Directors Guild of Ghana [FDGG] Richard Yaw Boateng came along with Haruna Seidu Soale Greater Accra Regional Chairman [FDGG], Ernest Ackom Ag. General Secretary [FDGG] and Daniel Fiifi Jayden Communications Director [FDGG] were there at Marwah Studios to discuss and plan the activities of Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum in the next few months.

The Republic of Ghana will soon consider Sandeep Marwah as the ‘father of New Cinema’ in Ghana. Our friendship will grow from here to bigger platform,” said Richard Yaw Boateng.

Noida: A powerful delegation of the filmmakers from Ghana arrived at ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry to join hands with the chamber to promote film activities in Ghana.

The delegation was lead by the National President of Film Directors Guild of Ghana [FDGG] Richard Yaw Boateng along with Haruna Seidu Soale Greater Accra Regional Chairman [FDGG], Ernest Ackom Ag. General Secretary
 [FDGG] and Daniel Fiifi Jayden Communications Director [FDGG] were there at Marwah Studios to discuss and plan the activities of Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum in the next few months.

“Indo Ghana has gone far ahead in devolving the relations between the two countries through art and culture. Today a very important event of World Environment Day is also inaugurated along with the Indo Ghana Summit, which speaks of our relation with Ghana. I welcome the film delegation to AAFT,” said Sandeep Marwah President ICMEI.

“We are amazed to receive such a grand reception at Marwah Studios, this speaks that Sandeep Marwah is a great showman of Indian Film Industry. His international status is beyond comparison. We wish to have a very strong bonding with ICMEI, Marwah Group and Indian Film Industry,” said Richard Yaw Boateng.

“The relations between Ghana and India are growing day by day since we have created Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum. I am sure we will be able to do wonders in the next few months. ICMEI activities are par excellence,” said H.E. Mr. Michael Aaron N.N. Oquaye Jnr., High Commissioner of Ghana to India while opening the Indo Ghana Session at AAFT.

High Commissioner was accompanied with Mrs. Nana Kraah Ansah Adjei Minister Counsellor, Aaron Nuamah Sintim, Head of Consular, Michael Harry Ansah, Special Aide of the High Commissioner of Ghana and Mrs. Jaee Bhatnagar Secretary to High Commissioner of Ghana.

The delegation took the tour of the Film School AAFT- Asian Academy of Film And Television, met a group of filmmakers and television producers,had interaction with the media students after the summit.

Radio Noida, MSTV and other national press covered the event. A grand dinner was also planned in the honor of the delegation. A scholarship for a short-term course in Production Direction at AAFT was also presented to the members of delegation.

The Chair for IGFCF Sandeep Marwah presented the life membership of Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum to all the members of the delegation.  Later High Commissioner of Ghana Honored Sandeep Marwah with an award for the promotion of Indo Ghana relations.

New Delhi: The first ever Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum has been launched recently by the renowned media personality Sandeep Marwah in association with High Commission of Ghana in India.

The Forum has already started the promotion of Republic of Ghana, its ideology, people to people contact, promotion of business in all glamorous trades like Films, television, media, fashion, animation, Hospitality, Design and Tourism in a big way.

“The President ICMEI and Chair for Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum Sandeep Marwah deserves to be honored on this most important day. We wish to work with him for all time to come,” said H.E. Alan Kyerematen Minister of Trade And Industry Republic of Ghana while handing over the award to Marwah on the National Day of Ghana at High Commission in a Grand National Day Party.

“Ten Point program has been created by Marwah to develop and promote Ghana in India. He is friend of Ghana. We are honored to honor him,” said H.E. Michael Aaron Oquaye High Commissioner of Ghana to India.

“I am here to Present Patron ship to the minister of IGFCF- Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum. I am over whelmed to receive award from the Minister,” thanked Sandeep Marwah attending huge get together of who’s who of Delhi.

Later Sandeep Marwah also presented the Patron ship of Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum to Hon. Alan Kyerematen and Hon. William Owuraku Aldoo Deputy Minister of Energy, Government of Ghana.

New Delhi: A summit to talk about Indo Ghana relations was organized by High Commission of Ghana in India at Hotel Shangrila, New Delhi  where The President of ICMEI Sandeep Marwah was the special guest.

“We are thankful to the High Commission of Ghana to India H.E. Michael Aaron Nii Nortey Oquaye for nominating me as the Chairperson of Indo Ghana Film And Cultural Forum. We have already started developing and promoting relations between two countries,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.
