Sandeep Marwah Attends National Day of Romania Celebration

New Delhi
: Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair of the Indo-Romania Film and Cultural Forum, was a special invitee at the celebration of Romania’s National Day held at the Imperial Hotel in New Delhi.

The Indo-Romania Film and Cultural Forum, under the leadership of Dr. Marwah, has been actively fostering cultural and cinematic ties between India and Romania. The forum has been a vital partner in major initiatives of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), including the prestigious Global Film Festival, Global Literary Festival, Global Fashion Week, and the Global Festival of Journalism.

Her Excellency Sena Latif, Ambassador of Romania to India, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, emphasizing the significance of Romania-India cultural relations. Ambassador Tanmaya Lal, Secretary (West) from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, graced the occasion as the chief guest and delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the growing partnership between the two nations.

The event was a testament to the robust cultural diplomacy and collaborations between India and Romania, with prominent personalities from various sectors joining to celebrate the rich heritage and friendship of the two countries.

Noida: A captivating film screening from Romania, “The Father Who Moves Mountains,” took center stage at the 16th Global Film Festival Noida, organized by the Indo-Romanian Forum. The event, supported by the Embassy of Romania, witnessed the presence of Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, who shared his appreciation for Romanian cinema and shed light on the intricacies of inter-cultural affairs.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah also highlighted the various activities initiated by the Indo-Romanian Film and Cultural Forum, established in collaboration with the Embassy of Romania, aimed at fostering relations between the people of India and Romania through the medium of film and culture.

Ambassador of Romania, Ms. Daniella Tane, expressed her admiration for Romanian cinema, describing it as a realistic portrayal of life. New Delhi:  Renowned personality and former District Commandant, as well as Chief Scout for India, Sandeep Marwah, was accorded the distinguished position of the special guest at the celebration of Armed Forces Day by the Embassy of Romania. The event, which took place at the Habitat Centre in New Delhi, was a commemoration of Romania’s annual ‘Armed Forces Day,’ observed on the 25th of October each year.

Her Excellency Daniela-Mariana Sezonov Ţane, Ambassador of Romania, and Col. Valentin Voaides, Defence, Military, Air, and Naval Attaché, extended a warm welcome to guests from various strata of society, with a special emphasis on those associated with the armed forces.

Noida, June 6, 2023 – The Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum, in association with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry and the Embassy of Romania, celebrated World Environment Day with a special screening of the powerful documentary “Untamed Romania” at Marwah Studios.

The film, which captivated the audience, was inaugurated by H.E. Daniel Tane, Ambassador of Romania to India, and Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, along with distinguished guests including H.E. Javier Paulnich, Ambassador of Peru to India, H.E. Teodoro Maldonodo, Ambassador of Ecuador to India, and Lt. Gen Anil Malik (Retd).

“Untamed Romania” is an extraordinary cinematic creation that showcases the breathtaking beauty and diverse wildlife of Romania. The filmmaker’s dedication is evident, as over 400 hours of footage were expertly crafted into a brilliant 90-minute documentary, offering a glimpse into the untamed world hidden beyond the bustling cities of Romania. From majestic mountains to ancient forests and expansive wetlands, this film transports viewers to undisturbed habitats where iconic creatures thrive.

Following the screening, a thought-provoking discussion on environmental issues was held, featuring prominent environmentalist Ajit Kumar and Ranju Minhas. Their insights shed light on crucial aspects of preserving and safeguarding our environment.

The impact of “Untamed Romania” was not limited to the audience alone; it also left a lasting impression on the attending filmmakers. New Delhi: “I on behalf of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry and the complete fraternity of Art and Culture of India take this opportunity to congratulate H.E. Daniels Mariana Sezonov Ţane Ambassador of Romania to India and     the People of the Country of Romania on Romanian Day which falls on 9th May,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI and Chair for Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum.

May 9th was a special day for Romanians, as it marked the proclamation of independence of the Romanian state back in 1877, the UN Coalition’s Victory Day in WWII and Europe Day.

Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum in association with Embassy of Romania  has been conducting large number of events related to art and culture to promote relations between the people of India and Romania. A colourful fashion week projected dresses from Romania designed by Indian Designer recently and soon a Romanian food festival will be planned at Noida Film City.

Noida: The newly appointed Ambassador of Romania to India, Bangladesh and Nepal H.E. Daniela Tane has been honoured with the Patron ship of Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum in a grand function at Noida Film City during the event designed by Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum.

“We are honoured in presenting the Patronship of Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum to H.E. Daniela Tae Ambassador of Romania to India. We will be able to work in a much faster way under her leadership. Her background & experience in art and culture will uplift the activities of the forum in much organized way,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry.

“I take this pleasure in accepting this patronship of Indo Romania Film & Cultural Forum. Together we will do much more in developing and promoting our relations with India,” said H.E. Daniela Tane.

Daniela Tane was part of the first batch of students studying Hindi in post-communist Romania. In 1992 she received a scholarship from the Indian government, for the study of Hindi language and culture, at Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra and this is how she discovered India at 22.

With an MA in Romanian language and literature and a bachelor degree in Political Sciences, both acquired at the University of Bucharest, She decided to apply for a job at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania (1996). In 2000-2004 she was posted at the Embassy of Romania in New Delhi, as Third, than Second Secretary, in charge of the cultural, educational and political affairs.

She left the comfortable life of a diplomat to work in field missions, for the International Committee of the Red Cross. This is how she discovered Africa, through missions in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinee Conakry, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Chad and Nepal. Now she is back in India as a Ambassador of Romania to India Nepal and Bangladesh.

An Event to Highlight Indo Romanian Friendship at Marwah Studios

Noida: Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum in association with Embassy of Romania in New Delhi designed a special show of a historical documentary Queen Marie of Romania produced and directed by Trevor Poots for the students of AAFT School of Mass Communication and Journalism at Marwah Studios, Noida Film City.

The 72 minutes documentary speaks about the life and works of Queen Marie, and how she fought for the country. The story very well depicts her own words written in her diary that-” My Love for My Country is My Religion”.

“The documentary is an asset for students of journalism. One single work of the director has projected and used all the means and modes of making of a documentary. It is a documentary lesson. Interviews, archives pictures- stills & movies, current shootings, the real character and made-up character, dialogues, voice over, narrations, background music, well researched story from the history derives huge appreciation,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

“The film also speaks about women empowerment, love for country, respect for establishment and the strong determination of people of Romania to win the War,” added H.E. Daniela Mariana Sezonov Tane Ambassador of Romania to India while inaugurating the screening.

Dr. Marwah honored H.E. Daniela Tane Ambassador of Romania to India with the Patronship of Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum, whereas H.E. Tane presented an appreciation to Dr. Sandeep Marwah for his untiring contribution to Indo Romanian friendship & development of relationship from the last six years.

Large number of members of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry also attended the screening and the formal function of Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum. H.E. Hayet Talbi Ambassador of Tunisia to India was the guest of honour, Cultural Councellor of Venezuela Alfredo Caldera   and Ambassador K.V. Rajan former Secretary Ministry of External Affairs Government of India were the special guest. The event was supported by International Film and Television Club of Marwah Studios.

Sandeep Marwah Appreciated for His Services to Indo Romania Relations

New Delhi: A well-known film television and media personality Dr. Sandeep Marwah has been honored by the Ambassador of Romania to India H.E. Daniels Mariana Sezonov Ţane during the grand show organised for the screening of Romanian Film Queen Marie of Romania by Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum at Noida Film City.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah has been serving as the Chair of Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum from the last six years since its inception, when the forum was created by then the Ambassador of Romania to India H.E. Radu Dobre.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah is the founder of Noida Film City, Marwah Studios, Chancellor of  AAFT University of Media and Arts and President of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry.

He is also the  National Chairman for Media and Entertainment Committee of Bureau of Indian Standards Ministry of Consumer Affairs Government of India. Recently has been on the board of AICTE, Ministry of Education Government of India.

“It is a great honour to receive an appreciation from the Embassy of Romania, Government of Romania for the humble contribution towards building strong relations between the two countries- India and Romania through art and culture. We have always believed that love peace and unity can be brought to the world through art and culture,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah receiving the award certificate from the Ambassador.

Hayet Talbi Ambassador of Tunisia to India, Alfredo Caldera of Embassy of Venezuela  were the guests of honour. The event was  attended by large number of ICMEI members , people from film and journalism fraternity and  students of AAFT School of Cinema and Journalism.

Sandeep Marwah Presented Membership of ICMEI to Ambassador K V Rajan

New Delhi: Ambassador K V Rajan  diplomat and former member of the Indian Foreign Service is now on the board of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry

He has served in senior diplomatic assignments, including as ambassador in France, the US, the UK, Zambia, Algeria and Nepal. He has also held senior positions such as Permanent Secretary and Advisor, to the Ministry of External Affairs, President of Association of Indian Diplomats, Member of National Security Advisory Boards, and Special Envoy of The Prime Minister at African Union Summit.

He is presently Chairman of Planet Water Foundation India , Chairman of KCSH Singapore, Chief Advisor to GM Corpsolutions, Chairman, Universal Peace Federation India, in addition to heading International Affairs activity of IIPP.

“We are honoured to have Ambassador K V Rajan on the board of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry. His vast experience is going to support the Committee on Foreign Affairs in ICMEI,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI.

Noida: “We are lucky to have now the extension of a film city in Noida. Its been 30 years we have been nurturing and cultivating the city. The existing film city has become the fastest growing film city in this part of the World. Seventy-five acres outdoor and twenty-five acres indoors with sixteen studios, are house to three hundred fifty channels. Seventeen thousand media professionals are working in the city and center is catering to more than hundred thousand people as far as bread earning is concerned,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah founder of film city and President of Global Film Festival Noida.

“I may not be directly connected to Noida Film City but I know that Indo Romanian Film And  Cultural Relations have taken a new shape being started from Marwah Studios of Noida Film City,” said H.E. Radu Octavian Dobre Ambassador of Romania to India while talking about  Romanian political, cultural and economic ties with India in the capacity of Chief Guest.” I presume that Noida Film City Extension is going to be the biggest film city of India which you all need being the biggest film producers of the World,” added Radhu Dobre.

“Uttar Pradesh has everything what a film maker is looking for. Infrastructure, man power, a powerful film institution, aptitude towards cinema, Cinema lovers and goers, locations, historical monuments, buildings, villages, city and government subsidy. The new film city is going to be a great success,” said Tarun Kumar CA & advisor to Ministry of Finance.

“The most important thing is to have a professional attitude towards film making. Rest everything can be managed. The new film city in Noida will bring boom in film production in this part of the country. It is no way competition to Mumbai film business,” said Pankuj Parashar renowned film maker from Mumbai.

Popular music director Dilip Sen, film journalist and AAFT Alumnus Romail Gulzar from London, casting Director Sushma Kaul, film Director Sanjeev Tyagi and actor Priyanka Chauhan also expressed their views on the subject. The program was conducted by Albeena and festival director Ashok Tyagi paid vote of thanks.

ICMEI Webinar on Indo Romanian Relations

A powerful webinar on Indo Romanian relations was hosted by ICMEI in association with the Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum. H E Radu Octavian Dobre, Ambassador, Embassy of Romania in India was the honourable speaker who expressed his views on the subject. H E Dobre also spoke on the situation of the Corona 19 pandemic in his country and the developmental policies taken up by the Romanian Government during this testing time.

Mr. Dobre stated that the indo Romanian relations were established in the year 1948 which were upgraded to embassy level in 1955 with the opening of the Romanian embassy in India. Indian embassy came up in Bucharest in 1957. Romania imports electric machines, devices and equipment, common metals, chemicals and allied industrial products and many other commodities from India and exports common metals, sound and image displayers and recorders, chemicals and connected industrial products and many other commodities to India. Mr. Dobre also put forth the economical figures and the bilateral relations enjoyed by both the countries. He said that his country was also fighting against terrorism.

He said that both the countries were also very much close to each other culturally and over a thousand Indians are presently residing in India. During the interactive session Mr. Dobre spoke about the tourism of Romania which has already started with the hotels and beaches opening up in his country. A number of Indian films have also been shot in Romania and the people are huge fans of Indian film stars since the time of Raj Kapoor. He also expressed his views on the higher education in Romania. He stated that corona has been very much controlled in his country with less than 50,000 people getting affected with around 2000 deaths.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah President ICMEI also the Chairperson of Indo Romania Film and Cultural Forum thanked the Ambassador for accepting his invitation to attend the webinar while Mr. Ashok Tyagi, Secretary General ICMEI paid the formal vote of thanks.
