Sandeep Marwah Inaugurated Kathak Nritya Mahotsav at Triveni

Two Day Kathak Nirtya Mahotsav Inaugurated by Sandeep Marwah

New Delhi: “Dance as the narration of a magical story; that recites on lips, illuminates imaginations and embraces the most sacred depths of souls. If spirit is the seed, dance is the water of its evolution. Dance is the timeless interpretation of life. If you opened the dictionary and searched for the meaning of a Goddess, you would find the reflection of a dancing lady,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts at the inauguration of two day Kathak Nritya Mahotsav organised by Urvashi Dance Music Art and Cultural Society at Triveni Kala Sangam in association with International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry.

Padma Bhushan Guru Kamudini, Padma Shri Guru Shovans Narayan, Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee Guru Pandit Rajendra Gangani, Guru Saswati Sen, Guru Geetanjali Lal and Abhimanyu Lal,  Guru Prerna Shrimali participated in the Mahotsav.  Abhishek Khichi, Mayukh Bhattacharya, Anjana Singh and Richa Joshi of Repretory of Urvashi Dance Academy also performed during the festival,” informed Dr. Rekha Mehra President of Urvashi Dance Music Art & Cultural Society.

The program started with the Champion winners of Sur Tal Hunar Ka Kamaal a year long dance competition organised by Dr. Rekha Mehra of Urvashi Cultural Society in association with ICMEI, Ministry of Culture and ICCR of Ministry of External Affairs online.

The event was attended by well-known film maker Iqbal Durrani, Director of Kathak Kendra Suman Kumar, Patron and coordinator Umesh Sharma and anchored by RJ Rahul. The program was well appreciated by the kathak lovers. Later Urvashi Society honoured Dr. Sandeep Marwah and other dignities for their sincere contribution to the promotion of art and culture.

Sandeep Marwah Inaugurated Shivaargya Dance Presentation

New Delhi: “Work like you don’t need the money, love like you’ve never been hurt and dance like nobody’s watching you. We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Founder of Noida Film City at the inauguration of annual male classical dance presentation titled Shivaargya at Ganesa Natyalaya curated by Saroja Vaidyanathan at New Delhi.

“The dance can reveal everything mysterious that is hidden in music, and it has the additional merit of being human and palpable. Dancing is poetry with arms and legs,” added Dr. Marwah also the Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts appreciating the perfection of the dancers who all were participating in day long festival.

Saroja Vaidyanathan is a guru and a notable exponent of Bharatanatyam a prolific choreographer and has to her credit ten full-length balle and nearly two thousand individual Bharatanatyam items.

Saroja Vidyanathan has written a number of books on Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music including ‘The Classical Dances of India’, ‘Bharatanatyam – An In-Depth Study’, ‘Carnataka Sangeetham’, and ‘The Science of Bharatanatyam’.

Saroja was conferred the Padma Shri in 2002 and the Padma Bhushan in 2013 by the Government of India. Later Saroja presented a set of her books to Dr. Sandeep Marwah.

Sandeep Marwah Inaugurated Dance Recital of Anoushka


Noida: “Dance is the hidden language of the soul of the body. When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way. If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor AAFT University at the inauguration of dance recital of Anushka Agarwal at PHD Auditorium.

Anoushka has been learning Bharatanatyam from last seventeen years from her Guru Rashmi Raut Jaiswal and completed her Visharad in Bharatanatyam. She has performed internationally in various shows and recipient of many awards.

The recital was divided into eight segments under the title Arangetram It was well attended by who’s who of family and friends. Well-known poet Ashok Chakardhar and social worker Dr Mridula Tandon also spoke on the occasion.

The mesmerizing performance was designed by Guru Rashmi Raout Jaiswal, Vocal by Sudha Raghuram, Mridangam by Prajesh Chand Nair, Flute by Rajat Prassana, Violin by Chembai R Srinivasan, Morsing by Ravi Kiran, Anchor by Divya Mehta, Costumes by Kishan Lal and Makeup by Brij Mohan.

Art and Culture Committee of PHDCCI Organised Dance Recital

PHDCCI and Marwah Studios Organized Dance Recital


New Delhi: PHD Chamber of Commerce under the leadership of Sandeep Marwah Chairperson of Art And Culture Committee in association with Marwah Studios and AAFT organized a vibrant dance recital by Geeta Chandran.

 Geeta Chandran is a celebrated artist and a star-performer, she is synonymous with the Indian classical dance: Bharatanatyam. She began learning Bharatanatyam from the tender age of 5 years under the tutelage of Smt. SwarnaSaraswathy, who hailed from the traditional Thanjavoordeva dasiparampara. Subsequently, Geeta continued learning diverse aspects of the classical dance from a galaxy of eminent Gurus.

Today she is a renowned artist who has synthesised the knowledge she received from her Gurus to imprint Bharatanatyam with her personal vision of the dance. In her dance presentations GeetaChandran skilfully weaves abstract notions of Joy, Beauty, Values, Aspirations, Myth and Spirituality.

Who’s who of Delhi and members of PHD Chamber of Commerce attended the event. Rajiv Chandra Director UNIC anchored the show. ”We are promoting love, peace and unity through art and culture,” said Marwah.
