New Delhi, August 15, 2025: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm at its headquarters. The occasion witnessed the unfurling of the National Flag by senior leadership of the Chamber, accompanied by members, dignitaries, and staff, followed by an inspiring program highlighting India’s journey and future aspirations.

Shri Hemant Jain, President of PHDCCI and Group Managing Director of the KLJ Group of Companies, addressed the gathering and emphasized the Chamber’s vital role in nation-building, policy advocacy, and supporting India’s economic growth trajectory.

Shri Anil Gupta, Vice President of PHDCCI and Chairman & Managing Director of KEI Industries Limited, highlighted the significance of industries and manufacturing in India’s growth story, reaffirming the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening domestic capacities and global competitiveness.

New Delhi: Leading international figures came together at the prelude event for the much-anticipated International Summit on Standards in Media and Entertainment Industry, masterminded by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, a prominent figure in the media and entertainment world. The event was hosted by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) and the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industries (PHDCCI), in a bid to define and promote the highest standards in the global media and entertainment sector.

Representatives from several nations including H.E. Mateja Vodeb Ghosh Ambassador of Slovenia,  Charge d’ Affaires Thabang Linus Kholumo  High Commission of Kingdom of Lesotho, Deputy Head of the Mission Lazar Vukadinovic Embassy of Serbia, Cultural Counsellor Alfredo Caldera Embassy of Venezuela, and Trade Counsellor  Bui Trung Thuong, Embassy of Vietnam took to the stage to share insights into the standards upheld in their respective countries.

The discussion, led by Sandeep Marwah – also National Chairman of  Media & Entertainment Committee at Bureau of Indian Standards, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India – focused on the immense scope of the Indian Media and Entertainment Industry and its potential to set benchmarks globally.

Shivam Soni, Secretary of the Media & Entertainment Committee of BIS, played a key role in the discourse, adding to the array of perspectives from around the world. The exchange proved to be enlightening, with active participation from audience members, who voiced their experiences and expressed their unique needs within the industry. The dialogue fostered a cross-pollination of ideas and a shared understanding of global media standards.

Shalini Sharma, Assistant Secretary-General of PHDCCI, effectively steered the event, which saw participation from various walks of life, reinforcing the universality and inclusivity of media and entertainment standards.

The curtain-raiser event is set to pave the way for the main Summit, where world leaders in the media and entertainment industry will convene to discuss and implement a harmonized approach to global standards, aiming to elevate the quality and credibility of content produced worldwide.

The event was supported by the AAFT School of Advertising and PR Events, further reinforcing the commitment to uphold, spread, and apply these standards in media and entertainment education.

This international initiative is a testament to the importance of unified standards in the media and entertainment industry and the vital role they play in ensuring integrity, quality, and diversity of content on a global scale.

New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University once again has been nominated on the board of PHD Chamber of Commerce as stated by the Secretary General and CEO of the Chamber Saurab Sanyal.

“Dr Sandeep Marwah is one of the most exclusive members of the Chamber and has been nominated to the managing committee of PHD. This time he is the Chairperson for Entertainment and AVGC Committee. He has been member of Managing Committee for more than seventeen years,” said Saurab Sanyal.

He emphasized on the persuasion with government for the needs and demands of the industry. ”The festival is a wonderful source of entertainment, networking, information, education, and acts as a platform to discuss the problems & solutions of Cinema Industry,”.

A poster was launched to mark respect to the festival and its management of hundred people involved in preparation of this international show. Later Sandeep Marwah Presented all the dignities with memento of Global Film Festival. Shalini Sharma Assistant Secretary General conducted the program.  Supriya Suri CEO Maison Su Entertainment proposed vote of thanks. The festival will be inaugurated on 8^th and will remain open till 10^th of December.

Two Decades of Sandeep Marwah in PHDCCI Management

New Delhi: Renowned film, television and media personality Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios, Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts and National Chairman M&E BIS Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Government of India has been nominated as the member of Managing Committee of PHD Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah Joined PHDCCI in 2001-2002 when Late president Arun Kapoor invited him to join the Chamber. Dr. Marwah started new committee title ‘Media and Entertainment’ under the leadership then President P.K.Jain and had been chair for eleven years till the President ship of Suman Jyoti Khaitan. He had been working hand in hand with President Ravi Vig, K.N.Memani, Sushms Berlia, Sanjay Bhatia, Dr. L.K.Malhotra, Satish Bagrodia, Ashok Kajaria, Salil Bhandari and  Sandeep Somany till 2012-13.

Dr. Marwah was renominated to the managing committee in 2014-15 by President Alok Sriram as Chairman for newly constituted Art and Culture Committee suggested by him and continued to provide his services to the Chamber with President Dr. Mahesh Gupta, Dr. Gopal Jiwarajka, Anil Khaitan , Rajeev Talwar and Dr. D.K. Agarwal till 2019-20.

New Delhi: The Leadership of PHD Chamber of Commerce And Industries including Dr. D.K. Agarwal President of the Chamber, Sanjay Aggarwal Senior Vice President of the Chamber and Pradeep Multani Vice President of the Chamber congratulated Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios on his new appointment in Government of India in the Management Committee of PHDCCI.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah renowned international media person has been nominated as the National Chairman of the newly constituted Media And Entertainment Committee of Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution in BIS- Bureau of Indian Standard. The committee will set the standards of Indian media and entertainment industry, which is the sixth biggest industry of the country. The M&E industry has touched last year a turnover of 2,35000 crores and expected to reach 3,00,000 crores by 2024.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah has been also been the member of the Management Committee of PHD Chamber of Commerce from last 17 years. He has introduced and Chaired Media And Entertainment Committee of the Chamber for 12 years and Art and Culture Committee for 2 years.

Dr. Marwah extended his heartiest thanks to the leadership and everyone present in the meeting including past Presidents and Patron members.

New Delhi:  In recognition of the growing importance of the economic potential of closer linkages between India and South East Asia, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry is proposing to organize the Conference on ‘India –ASEAN Business Summit: Today, Tomorrow, Together’ on 11th -12th November 2019 at PHD House, New Delhi. 

“The core objective of the Conference is to create opportunities for deepening trade and investment ties between India and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and to showcase the Indian States as the drivers of growth,” said Ajay Poddar Chairperson of the Committee at the curtain raiser of the event. 

“ASEAN has become one of India's largest trading partners. Post India- ASEAN FTA, total trade between the two regions has expanded substantially from US$ 45.34 billion in 2008-09 to nearly US$ 81 billion in 2017-18. The two sides expect bilateral trade to increase to US$ $200 billion by 2022,” informed Dr. D.K.Agarwal President of  PHD Chamber.

“Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, India NESIA, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand are Vietnam are the participating countries,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI.

New Delhi: A delegation of members of     PHD Chamber of Commerce under the leadership of Rajiv Talwar President of PHDCCI met the State Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Government of India at Transport Bhawan New Delhi.

The members of PHDCCI congratulated the Minister for being nominated as the part of Government and presented him with the tree.

New Delhi: PHD Chamber of Commerce under the leadership of Sandeep Marwah Chairperson of Art And Culture Committee in association with Marwah Studios and AAFT organized a vibrant dance recital by Geeta Chandran.

 Geeta Chandran is a celebrated artist and a star-performer, she is synonymous with the Indian classical dance: Bharatanatyam. She began learning Bharatanatyam from the tender age of 5 years under the tutelage of Smt. SwarnaSaraswathy, who hailed from the traditional Thanjavoordeva dasiparampara. Subsequently, Geeta continued learning diverse aspects of the classical dance from a galaxy of eminent Gurus.

Today she is a renowned artist who has synthesised the knowledge she received from her Gurus to imprint Bharatanatyam with her personal vision of the dance. In her dance presentations GeetaChandran skilfully weaves abstract notions of Joy, Beauty, Values, Aspirations, Myth and Spirituality.

Who’s who of Delhi and members of PHD Chamber of Commerce attended the event. Rajiv Chandra Director UNIC anchored the show. ”We are promoting love, peace and unity through art and culture,” said Marwah.

New Delhi: Fifteen-member delegation of the Andijan region of Uzbekistan reached Delhi to discuss business with the members of business and service community at New Delhi.

Sandeep Marwah Chairperson of Indo Uzbekistan Film And Cultural Forum was invited to speak to the delegates about the activities of the forum and his departure to Tashkent same day. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India H.E. Farhod Arziev was also present there.

ART And Culture Committee of PHDCCI Met Minister

New Delhi: The members of Art and Cultural Committee of PHD Chamber of Commerce under the Chairmanship of Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios met the Union Minister for Culture and Environment Dr. Mahesh Sharma at Ministry.

“There is a urgent need for developing art and culture infrastructure to fuel growth and develop India as a 'soft power,” said Dr. Mahesh Sharma Union Minister of State Ministry of Culture and Environment. He said that the "Government of India's initiative for cultural mapping of India would bring art and culture repositories on a common platform through an e-portal, thus promoting India”s visual arts. About 1 crore people are already registered on the portal and we expect 4 crore artists to register themselves".

“We are keen in inviting the Minister to present the newly constituted appreciation awards by PHDCCI to encourage and motivate the artists who have done well in these recent years. We are also looking for guidance as how we can support the Government in their day to day affairs,” said Sandeep Marwah talking to the press.

“It is also a wonderful opportunity to discuss with the minister on the forth-coming conference on environment. We believe in presenting only plant,” said Anil Khaitan President of PHDCCI. Saurabh Sanyal Secretary General and Bhawana Singh Joint Secretary PHD were also present there.
