He further informed that nearly 60 of the most experienced and eminent professionals from across the Media and Entertainment ecosystem are actively contributing to this prestigious committee, ensuring that the proposed standards are practical, progressive, and globally relevant.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah Reviews Progress of SSD 13 Media & Entertainment Committee at Bureau of Indian Standards
New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair, Media and Entertainment Committee (SSD 13), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, convened a review meeting today to take a first-hand assessment of the progress made by various sectional committees under SSD 13. The meeting focused on evaluating the extensive work completed towards developing and strengthening national standards across the diverse domains of the media and entertainment industry.
Dr. Marwah, who is also the Founder of Noida Film City and Marwah Studios, and Chancellor of AAFT University, expressed deep appreciation for the remarkable volume and quality of work undertaken in framing standards related to Print Media, Radio, Television, Cinema, New Media, OTT platforms, Events, and Media Education, among others. BIS Certification is a means for providing third party guarantee of quality, safety and reliability of products to the customer. National Chairman BIS Ministry of Consumer Affairs GOI Talking at Event
Noida: The consumer movement marks 15th March with World Consumer Rights Day every year, as a means of raising global awareness about consumer rights and needs. Celebrating the day is a chance to demand that the rights of all consumers are respected and protected, and to protest against market abuses and social injustices which undermine those rights.
“World Consumer Rights Day was inspired by President John F Kennedy, who sent a special message to the US Congress on 15th March 1962, in which he formally addressed the issue of consumer rights. He was the first world leader to do so. The consumer movement first marked that date in 1983 and now uses the day every year to mobilise action on important issues and campaigns,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Association in a small meeting at Marwah Studios Film City Noida to make people aware about the day.

New Delhi: National Consumers Right Day is observed on 24 December to raise awareness about the rights of consumers and responsibilities. This is the day when the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 had received the assent of the President
“The aim of the enactment of the Consumer Protection Act is to provide safeguards to consumers against various types of exploitation like defective goods, deficiency in services, and unfair trade practices,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI and National Chairman for Media And Entertainment Committee of BIS, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India at a webinar hosted in association with Asian Law College.
“A consumer is a person who buys any goods or avails a service for consideration. It does not consist of a person who obtains a good for resale or a good or service for commercial purposes. It also covers transactions through several modes like offline, online via electronic means, teleshopping, multi-level marketing, or direct selling,” added Dr. Marwah while talking to the members of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry. The session was followed by discussion and question answers.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah renowned international media person has
been nominated as the National Chairman of the newly constituted Media And Entertainment
Committee of Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution in BIS-
Bureau of Indian Standard. The committee will set the standards of Indian media
and entertainment industry, which is the sixth biggest industry of the country.
The M&E industry has touched last year a turnover of 2,35000 crores and
expected to reach 3,00,000 crores by 2024.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah has been also been the member of the
Management Committee of PHD Chamber of Commerce from last 17 years. He has
introduced and Chaired Media And Entertainment Committee of the Chamber for 12
years and Art and Culture Committee for 2 years.

touching 2,30,000 Crores turn over and were expected to be 3,00,000 crores by
2024. Around ten million people are directly working in this industry and we
are supporting another ten

initiated and briefed by Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chairperson of the committee.
“It is a historical moment when for the first time in India
we all are meeting to raise the standard of Indian media and entertainment
industry and trying to introduce standards in this creative environment. We
want world to appreciate our efforts of introducing quality, productivity and
conducive environment for the people of creative World,” added Dr. Sandeep
Marwah.
The meeting, which lasted for three hours covered many
points concerning the scope and composition of media and entertainment services
sectional committee and the strategy and roadmap for standardization.
