Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chairs National Meeting of CEGR and MESC on the Future of Education in India

New Delhi: A high-level National Meeting jointly organized by the Centre for Education Growth and Research (CEGR) and the Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) under the title MANTHAN, brought together eminent educationists, academicians, policymakers, and industry experts from across India to deliberate on the evolving landscape of education and skill development in the country.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, renowned educationist, Chancellor of AAFT University, and former President of CEGR, who emphasized the urgent need to align education with the rapidly changing demands of industry, technology, and global opportunities.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sandeep Marwah said, “India stands at a critical juncture where education must not only impart knowledge but also develop skills, innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership. The purpose of this national consultation is to understand the current needs, emerging challenges, and future requirements of the education sector so that we can create a more dynamic, inclusive, and industry-oriented learning ecosystem.”

The discussions covered a wide range of issues including the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), skill-based learning, digital transformation in education, industry-academia collaboration, employability enhancement, internationalization of higher education, and the growing importance of creative industries and emerging technologies.

Dr. K.K. Aggarwal, President of South Asian University, highlighted the significance of innovation and global collaboration in higher education. He stated, “The future of education lies in creating institutions that foster research, critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, and international partnerships. We must prepare students not just for jobs, but for lifelong learning and leadership in a rapidly evolving world.”

Speaking on behalf of the Media & Entertainment Skills Council, Mohit Soni, CEO of MESC, emphasized the growing role of skill development in nation-building. He remarked, “The media and entertainment sector is expanding at an unprecedented pace, creating new opportunities and new job roles. Industry-oriented training, certification, and skill enhancement are essential to bridge the gap between education and employment. Collaborative efforts between academia and industry are the need of the hour.”

Ravish Roshan, Director of CEGR, underscored the importance of continuous dialogue among stakeholders. He said, “This meeting serves as a valuable platform for educators, institutions, and industry leaders to collectively shape the future roadmap for education in India. The recommendations emerging from these discussions will contribute significantly to strengthening educational quality, accessibility, and relevance.”

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to fostering stronger partnerships between educational institutions, industry bodies, and government agencies to ensure that India’s education system remains future-ready and globally competitive.

The participants appreciated the initiative taken by CEGR and MESC in creating a national forum for meaningful dialogue and strategic planning aimed at advancing education, research, innovation, and skill development in India.

The recommendations and outcomes of the meeting will be compiled and shared with relevant stakeholders to support policy formulation and institutional development across the country.

CEGR President Sandeep Marwah in London Answered Basic Questions on Education


CEGR President Sandeep Marwah in London Talking to Press

London: CEGR- Centre for Education Growth and Research President Dr Sandeep Marwah also Chancellor of AAFT University is in London attending different seminars and sessions where he was asked   to inform the basic    information on India’s education system. Answering the question Dr Marwah said that a chancellor is a leader of a college or university, usually either the executive or ceremonial head of the university or of a university campus within a university system.

He informed that the term ‘higher education’ with respect to India denotes the tertiary level education that is imparted after 12 years of schooling (10 years of primary education and 2 years of secondary education). The Department of Higher Education, MoE is responsible for the overall development of the basic infrastructure of Higher Education sector, both in terms of policy and planning.

 A professor is the highest academic title held at a college, university, or postsecondary institution. Professors are accomplished and recognized academics — and usually considered experts in their areas of interest

The top 6 States in terms of highest number of colleges in India are Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu and these States have more than 30 colleges per lakh population except Uttar Pradesh, which has the college density of 20 only.

The objective of higher education is to give both knowledge and wisdom. Educational system must find its guiding principle in the aims of the social order. It should inculcate democratic idealism among the learners.

The UGC`s mandate includes determining and maintaining standards of teaching, examination, and research in universities. Framing regulations on minimum standards of education. Monitoring developments in the field of collegiate and university education; disbursing grants to the universities and colleges.

There are three types of universities: Conventional Universities, Deemed Universities and Institutions of National Importance. While Conventional Universities are established through Act of Parliament or State Legislatures, Deemed Universities award degrees through the notification of the central government.

Jakarta: “United Nations has declared seventeen points for SDGs-and they are are No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, Reduced Inequality, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life bbelow Water, Life on Land, Peace Justice and Strong Institutions and Partnership for the Goals,” explained Dr. Sandeep Marwah in his key note address during the international conference at Jakarta.

The Mega Virtual International Conference with the theme of “Multidisciplinary Hybrid Learning in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals- SDGs” was organized by University of Al Asyariah Mandar from 22nd to 27th December 2021 online.

Dr. Marwah also spoke in detail the requirements by the educational institutions to fulfil the needs of Sustainable development Goals. He emphasized on entertainment, development, Controlled conditions, Communication, attitude, technology, information, and being nationalist.

Sharjah: The renowned educationist and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts  Dr  Sandeep Marwah was invited by the Founder Chairman of the Skyline University college Kamal Puri to visit the campus  in Sharjah during his visit to UAE.

“It was great pleasure to take the tour of a well-organized educational institution Skyline University College spread out in a 40 acres campus within the University City of Sharjah. I cannot forget the hospitality and the affection bestowed upon me.  The university with state of arts setup is an international seat of learning,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah while talking to the press at Dubai.

New Delhi: In the National meeting of the members of the Managing Committee of  CEGR- Centre For Education Growth and Research Dr. Sandeep Marwah the Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts Raipur and now National Chairman for Media and Entertainment Committee of BIS Ministry of Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution, Government of India  was elected as the Senior  Vice President of the  council. The  last meeting of the year met virtually.

Earlier Mr. Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra, Chancellor, Shobhit University was elected as the new National President of CEGR for the Calendar Year 2021 replacing  Sanjiv Goswami the outgoing President. The meeting was Chaired by Prof. K.K. Agarwal Mentor CEGR and Chairman National Board of Accreditation.

The new managing committee also consists of Prof. R. Hariharan, Advisor (Approval), AICTE: Mr. V. M. Bansal Chairman NDIM,  Dr. Davish Jain Chairman Prestige Education Foundation, Dr. Rakesh Chharia General Secretary IMS Group of Institutions, Dr. Ashwani Lochan Chairman Arunachal University of Studies and Prof. K. P. Isaac Director General XIME Group of Institutions a Senior Vice Presidents.

Mr. Anant Soni Chairman Arunachal University of Studies, Dr. Anupam Chouksey Pro Chancellor LNCT University, Dr. Sanjay B. Virtual Education Is Next Big Thing- Sandeep Marwah


Dehradun: “Virtual education is one of the most important innovation of this time, It is the best alternate to traditional method of teaching, we have learned in Pandemic. It is quite helpful to those students who actually cannot attend the school owing to many reasons. Virtual education is the next big thing that will change the way of living and will be part of new normal,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios & Chancellor AAFT University of Media And Arts at the inauguration of the first virtual school in Dehradun.

A fully Virtual Home school in India, that offers Cambridge Curriculum, and offers courses in Vedic and Moral Education,  Vedic Math, Sanskrit, Astronomy and Civic Senses, among other subjects was earlier Inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat.

The school in Dehradun is hailed as *The First Virtual Home school in the country.* And will be offering admissions from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The admissions can be taken throughout the year,  and a term will be considered for 9 months. Busan: AAFT University of Media And Arts  (Raipur-Noida) signed a Memorandum of Association with Bolivian Education Company Escuela Militar De Ingenieria to promote art culture and especially education. The MOU was signed at World Education Leaders Forum during World Cultural Camp Busan, South Korea.

 

“Escuela Militar De Ingenieria is located in La Paz, Bolivia and is part of the Colleges & Universities Industry. The setup has 100 employees across all of its locations. There are companies in the EMDI corporate family. Dun & Bradstreet provides data on over 120 million companies like EMDI around the world, including contacts, financials, and competitor information,” informed Rommel Moron Romero Rector Escuela Militar De Ingenieria Bolivia.

 

“We are happy to join hands with Bolivian Education Company widely spread in Bolivia where we can start with promoting art and culture between the two countries. Busan:  A MOU was signed between AAFT University of Media And Arts, India and Ala Too International University Kyrgyzstan at The World Education Leaders Forum during World Cultural Camp at Busan, South Korea. Both the institutions will promote art and culture through different events and educational programs.

 

“In order to strengthen its position on market of education, the university is working on the opening of new educational programs that are in demand in the new information and competitive job market. We carry out the exchange programs for students and teaching staff in different programs, Such programs would allow students and teachers an opportunity to continue their studies for 1-2 semesters at various universities and to share their experiences.,” said Sanzharbek Erdolatov President Ala Too International University, Kyrgyzstan.

India Will Reach Honduras Through AAFT University

Busan: “The higher education is governed by the National Autonomous University of Honduras, which has centers in the most important cities of Honduras,” informed Prof. Emilio Gabriel Esbeih Castellanos Rector of Universidad Nacional de Ciencias Forestales, Honduras while signing the MOU with AAFT at World Education Leaders Forum during World Cultural Camp at Busan, South Korea.

The Republic of Honduras is a country in Central America about 83.6% of the population is literate and the net primary enrollment rate was 94% in 2019. Honduras has two main languages -Spanish with English and Arabic & German are also popular in schools and numerous universities informed Emillio Gabriel.

We are feeling honored in joining hands with this prestigious University from Honduras. Not many educational institutions have preferred to be in Honduras, but I know films, television and media is the need of the day. Even though it is engineering, medical, law or forestry courses media can create its own space in every field,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And arts and signed the documents.

Both the Universities in India and Honduras will play a special role in bringing the people of two countries close to each other in time to come through art and culture added Dr. Marwah.

Busan: “It is a wonderful opportunity to expand the activities of World Peace Development And Research Foundation of AAFT- Asian Academy of Film And Television through a prestigious Epic Bible College and Graduate School, California USA said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT while joining hands with American institution.

 

A MOU was signed between Dr. Sandeep Marwah of AAFT and Ronald EW. Harden of Epic Bible College And Graduate School, USA at the World Education Leaders Forum during World Cultural Camp at Busan South Korea in a grand function.

 

“EPIC Bible College and Graduate School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. Busan: In a special event-World Education Leaders Forum during World Cultural Camp designed by International Youth Fellowship, a student educational and cultural body having its offices all over the World including India and Mongolia, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Asian Academy of Film And Television and Ulaanbaatar Erdem University from Mongolia. 

 

“AAFT is one of the best institutions in the World as far as film, television and media education is concerned. With an experience of 27 years in media education, we will be able to enhance our current courses and can launch more courses of different duration time to come. No body can compete with the qualifications of AAFT,” said Prof. Alima Dorj of Ulaanbaatar Erdem University, Mongolia while signing the MOU.

 

“We are happy to join hands with Mongolian University.  We are already associated to the Republic of Mongolia through H.E. Gonchig Ganbold Ambassador of Mongolia to India  in New Delhi. Recently we have also created Indo Mongolia Film And Cultural Forum to promote relation between two countries. The efforts have been blessed by H.E. Khaltmaagiin Battulga President of Mongolia personally during his visit to New Delhi,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT. 

 

Dr. Sandeep Marwah was invited by the Mongolian University to visit their country to see for himself the day to day affairs of the University.

New Delhi: A webinar series under the title India’s Admission Hunt 2020 –Vice Chancellor’s Conclave powered by College Duniya, which is an initiative of ASMS invited Education leaders to speak on role of creativity in education.

 

Imagination and creativity are the traits that fuel the future. Both serve to inspire students and should be integrated into every part of learning. In planning and designing learning for students, this we know: Teaching students how to think is more important than teaching students what to think,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts.

 

 

“We should set up learning activities that allow students to explore their creativity in relevant, interesting, and worthwhile ways. We must value creativity and celebrate and reward it. We must teach students the other skills they need to be creative and remove constraints for creativity, give the students space and a framework in which they can be creative,” suggested Dr. Marwah addressing hundreds of students.

“The best part is that this new change has very well accepted by the students by  all age groups and of all disciplines. There may be few weaknesses in the system but I am sure with little time we will over come all these problems being faced by the students as well as the authorities,” added Dr. Marwah.

Dr. Marwah also informed that, ”we have a committee on Canada under the name of Indo Canadian Film And Cultural Forum and a scholarship will soon be announced for the deserving student from Canada to study films in India,”
