Peruvian Film “Yaku Onan – Caminos Del Agua” Honoured at 14th Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC Noida 2026

Noida: The Peruvian film “Yaku Onan – Caminos Del Agua”, directed by Juan Duran, was presented with the prestigious Award of Distinction during the 14th Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC Noida 2026. The film received wide appreciation from the audience for its compelling narrative and artistic excellence.

The screening of the film was formally inaugurated by Mr. Enrique Descalzi, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Peru in India. The event highlighted the growing cultural engagement between India and Peru through cinema and creative arts.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair of the Indo Peru Film and Cultural Forum and President of Marwah Studios, expressed his appreciation for the meaningful participation of Peru at the festival. He emphasized that such cinematic exchanges strengthen bilateral cultural ties and create greater understanding between the people of both nations.

Dr. Shahi Shaika, Dean of the School of Photography, presented the memento and the Award of Distinction to the Peruvian film on behalf of the management of the festival.

Speaking on the occasion, Cultural Counsellor Enrique Descalzi thanked the festival authorities for showcasing Peruvian cinema on an international platform. He appreciated the efforts of the Indo Peru Film and Cultural Forum in promoting cultural diplomacy and fostering artistic collaboration between Peru and India.

The festival once again reaffirmed its commitment to global cinematic dialogue and international friendship through the powerful medium of film.

Noida, India: The 18th Global Film Festival Noida 2025, hosted at the iconic Marwah Film City, Noida, proudly presented the screening of the critically acclaimed Peruvian film “The Best Families”, directed by renowned filmmaker Javier Fuentes León. The film brought a strong and meaningful Latin American perspective to the festival’s vibrant international showcase and was warmly applauded by filmmakers, critics, students, media professionals, and international dignitaries.

Recognizing its powerful narrative, artistic excellence, and strong social relevance, the film was honoured with the prestigious Award of Distinction. The award was received by Mr. Enrique Descalzi, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Peru, on behalf of the director. Expressing his appreciation, Mr. Descalzi thanked the festival organizers for providing a respected global platform for Peruvian cinema and emphasized that such cultural exchanges strengthen mutual understanding between nations.

New Delhi, 29th July 2025: The Embassy of the Republic of Peru in India celebrated the 204th Independence Day of Peru with grandeur and patriotic fervor at Hotel Le Shangri-La, New Delhi. The event was graced by H.E. Javier Paulinich, Ambassador of Peru to India, and Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister of Coal and Mines, who attended as the Chief Guest.

The evening witnessed an impressive gathering of Ambassadors, High Commissioners, business leaders, and prominent personalities from the fields of art, culture, and diplomacy, highlighting the importance of Indo-Peruvian relations and global cultural harmony.

Bringing a unique vibrancy to the celebration, students of AAFT (Asian Academy of Film & Television) participated in traditional Peruvian attire, reflecting the true spirit of cultural exchange and international friendship.

Noida: The Indo-Peru Film and Cultural Forum, in association with the International Film and Television Club, proudly showcased the Peruvian feature film Deliciosa Fruta Seca, directed by Ana Cariad Sanchez, during the 17th Global Film Festival Noida 2024.

The film was honored with the prestigious “Award of Distinction,” which was announced by the President of the festival, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, in the presence of a captivated audience.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, who also serves as the Chair for the Indo-Peru Film and Cultural Forum, expressed his admiration for the film, stating, “This recognition underscores the artistic excellence of Peruvian cinema and its ability to bridge cultural narratives between India and Peru.”

Noida, India – The AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism hosted an engaging and insightful master class conducted by renowned Peruvian celebrity chef Julio Castillo. Known for his innovative culinary techniques and expertise in Peruvian cuisine, Chef Castillo captivated the students with his creative approach to cooking and shared his passion for Peruvian gastronomy.

The students were thrilled to learn a variety of authentic Peruvian dishes, gaining first-hand knowledge of the vibrant flavors, unique ingredients, and rich traditions of Peruvian cuisine. Brazilian and Peruvian Cuisines Highlighted at 10th Global Literary Festival Noida 2024

Noida, India – October 2024: The vibrant flavors of Brazil and Peru were at the forefront of the 10th Global Literary Festival Noida 2024, held at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Marcos Sperandio, Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of Brazil, and Enrique Descalzi, Counsellor and Cultural Head at the Embassy of Peru. This cross-cultural celebration of food drew a large and enthusiastic audience of diplomats, dignitaries, and art lovers from across the globe.

The food display, meticulously prepared by the students of the AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism, showcased the rich and diverse culinary traditions of both Brazil and Peru. New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair for the Indo-Peru Film and Cultural Forum for over a decade, was a special invitee at the celebration of the 203rd Independence Day of the Republic of Peru. The event took place at Hotel ITC Maurya in New Delhi, and the invitation was extended by His Excellency Javier Pauliinich Velarde, Ambassador of Peru to India.

New Delhi, June 9, 2023 – Sandeep Marwah, the Chair for Indo Peru Film and Cultural Forum and President of Marwah Studios, was honored as a special invitee at the premiere show of the Hollywood blockbuster film “Transformers: Rise of the Beast.” The film, which showcases the breathtaking landscapes of the Andes in Peru, was organized by the Embassy of Peru in India and held at Cinepolis DLF, New Delhi.

The Ambassador of Peru, H.E Javier Pauliinich Velarde, expressed his joy at the global success of the film and its portrayal of Peru’s picturesque locations. He extended his gratitude to the esteemed audience for their presence at the premiere. Sandeep Marwah, in his address, highlighted the immense opportunity for Peru to promote its tourism through such international film ventures, emphasizing the impact it would have on attracting visitors from around the world.

Noida: The Indo Peru Film and Cultural Forum (IPFCF) recently presented its patronship to the Ambassador of Peru H.E.  Javier Paulinich.  The event was held at the Global head quarters of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry at Marwah Studios,  Film City Noida.

Ambassador of Peru,  Javier Paulinich praised Marwah’s efforts to promote art and culture, not only in India but across the world. He also appreciated the Indo Peru Film and Cultural Forum’s efforts to strengthen the cultural ties between India and Peru.

In his acceptance speech, Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the importance of cultural exchange between countries. He also highlighted the potential of the film industry in promoting cultural understanding and cooperation.

The Indo Peru Film and Cultural Forum is dedicated to promoting cultural exchange and collaboration between India and Peru in the fields of art, culture, and cinema. With the addition of H.E.  Javier Paulinich to its patronship, the forum hopes to further its mission and strengthen the cultural bonds between the two nations. The event was attended by The Second Secretary Fabio Subia, in charge of the cultural issues of the Embassy.
