World Telecommunication Day Celebrated at AAFT


World Telecommunication And Society Day Celebrated at ICMEI


The purpose of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) is to help raise awareness of the possibilities that the use of the Internet and other information and communication technologies (ICT) can bring to societies and economies, as well as of ways to bridge the digital divide.

“Covid 19 has expedited the large and the massive usage of internet within a few days. In this lockdown the Internet is the biggest blessing. We at AAFT also have brought the education on line. All the twelve colleges, 60 class rooms are involved with 180 classes every day, thanks to internet,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT and Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations while talking to the people at Webinar on World Telecommunication Day.

“We have conducted best of the webinars, seminars, interactions, talks from all over India and abroad from the best of the faculty and personalities for the students of AAFT only through internet, now you just cannot ignore Internet,” added Dr. Marwah.

“Information technology can be a beacon of hope, allowing billions of people around the world to connect. During the COVID-19 pandemic, these connections are more important than ever,” marked by António Guterres
UN Secretary-General.

World Telecommunication Day Celebrated at Marwah Studios


Poster Launched on World Telecommunication Day


Noida: World Telecommunication Day (WTD) has been celebrated annually on 17 May since 1969. The date marks the anniversary of the founding of ITU on 17 May 1865, when the first International Telegraph Convention was signed in Paris. In 1973, the event was formally instituted at the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference in Malaga-Torremolinos, Spain. A poster was launched at Marwah Studios to mark respect to this day.

“The purpose of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day is to help raise awareness of the possibilities that the use of the Internet and other information and communication technologies can bring to societies and economies, as well as of ways to bridge the digital divide,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations.

“World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, like its predecessors, focuses on a particular theme for each event.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ And this year it is ‘Bridging the standardization gap’,” added Dr. Marwah also Ambassador of IHRO affiliated to United Nations.

World Telecommunication Day 2011 Celebrated At ASMS




ASMS has been popular in designing programs on the right occasions to develop education through events, workshops, seminars, interactions etc.This time the students and the faculty of Asian School of Media Studies, Noida celebrated World Telecommunication Day at Marwah Studios at Film City on 17th May, which has already been declared as World Telecommunication Day.


“A word Telecommunication defines the complete connectivity of the World in itself. This epitome of technology, which started being used as a luxury is now the necessity of every individual” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Director of ASMS highlighting the importance of telecommunication.

”It all started when Alexander Graham Bell, in his attempt to make a multiple Telegraph, ended up inventing telephone, which was then called the 'Harmonic Telegraph'. March 10th 1876, witnessed the birth of telephone ”Informed R.K.Singh Dy Director ASMS explaining relation between broadcasting and telecommunication.

“The broader access to fast 4G wireless technologies will advance education, entertainment, agriculture, health care, and more in rural and developing parts of the world” added Namarata Bagga HOD Mass Communication ASMS.
