Rajiv Gandhi Remembered At AAFT on His 67th Birth Anniversary
“We all are indebted to the late former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi for his extra ordinary contribution to the progress of this country especially in the field of communication and information technology” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and founder of Noida Film City to the film, television and media persons on the 67th birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi at Marwah Studios.
“The facilities and development available in these two industries have not only highlighted but uplifted the growth of our entertainment industry many folds” added Marwah remembering the time spent with late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi during eighties.
The day is also observed as "Sadbhavana Diwas" and Akshay Urja Diwas. Several functions across the nation are being held to pay tributes to the departed leader.
President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Vice President Moahammed Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, and several other leaders paid tributes to Rajiv Gandhi at his Samadhi, Veer Bhumi, in the national capital.

Tribute To Mohammad Rafi At AAFT
Glowing tributes were paid to the perennial gold voice of Hindi cinema Mohammad Rafi on his 21st death anniversary at the Asian Academy Of Film and Television. Speaking on this occasion the director Sandeep Marwah said that the present generation of film makers should be grateful because of legacy they have inherited.
Rafi claimed to have recorded 28,000 songs in 11 Indian languages between 1944 and April 1980. Rafi has sung 4,516 Hindi film songs, 112 non-Hindi film songs, and 328 private (non-film) songs. His singing career spanned about 40 years, and his songs ranged from classical numbers to patriotic songs, sad lamentations to highly romantic numbers, qawwalis to ghazals and bhajans, and from slow melancholic tunes to fast and melodious fun filled songs
Dean cinema Ashok Tyagi recalled the contribution of Rafi Sahab in making actors from Dilip Kumar to Amitabh Bachchan by lending his voice. Joint Director R.K.Singh and Dean Om Gupta of Asian School Media studies also spoke about him. The faculty and students of different schools of Marwah Studios were present on this occasion. Marwah Studios Join Hands With International Sufi Festival
Marwah Studios, a Creative Enterprises well known as founders of Film City, Noida has joined hands with forthcoming International Sufi Festival a project designed by Divine Abode informed Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.
Divine Abode, is a non-profit organization which is currently promoting International Peace & Oneness. The Founder/ Chairperson Begum Gulshaa is from the blessed lineage of a Sufi saint Hazrath Sultan Gul Shah Qadri Chishti, from the Northern Frontiers of Afghanistan. Gulshaa Begum, a Sufi mystic, was blessed to experience a spiritual awakening which opened up her experience of God's reality.
The International Sufi Festival India 2011 is going to be a yearly festival that will take place in Ajmer, Rajasthan. It brings together performers and artists from around the world. Sufi arts, culture and heritage are at the heart of the programme. The festival is supported by Interfaith Foundation India.
The festival aims to capture and project the messages and spirit of Sufism. The festival promises to be an entertaining and enchanting week with different kinds of events from 21st Oct 2011 to Oct 27th 2011. The festival will showcase performers, artists, exhibitions, art & crafts, fashion, Sufi books, poetry, mystical photography from the local areas, different parts of the country and abroad.

Another Feather In AAFT’s Coveted Cap
The success saga of Asian Academy of Films and Television (AAFT) continues to flow unabated. The latest feather in its already coveted cap was added today with the release of tragi-comedy Hair is Falling This film has come close on the heels of the directroral venture ‘Teen the Bhai’ by another AAFTIAN Gurdeep Singh Lamba and Luv Ranjan’s Pyar ka Panchnama.
The latest presentation “Hair is falling deals with the tragic phenomenon of receding hairline among youth because of all kinds of tension and anxiety that the pressure of life in the fast lane is causing. In one breath it produced comic situations and in another it lends agony and pain.
The film is produced by Priyanka, both from the AAFT, written by Vikas Taliyan, and directed by Vicky Bhardwaj. Sanjana Tewari along with AAFTIans Rajsh Bhardwaj and Lalit Kumar play major roles in the film. A 10-minute film on Indian cinema, ‘Longest Kiss was also shown on the occasion.
Introducing the film and the star-alumni of AAFT, its director Sandeep Marwah said that this film has once again proved that creativity and entertainment have become the sine qua non of this prestigious institute. Its students continue to create ripples in Bollywood and they have a bright future.

Electronic Media--The Most Attractive Medium-Sandeep Marwah
“With the sanctioning of another 100 Television channels and 100 Radio Stations by Ministry Of Information And Broadcasting, Government of India the electronic media has not only become the biggest , broader but the most attractive medium of media” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios chairing the seminar on ‘Class Room To News Room’ organized by the department of electronic media and journalism of Asian School Of Media Studies.
Present on the occasion the speakers and panelist Amarnath Amar (Doordarshan), Darin Shaidi (CNN-IBN), Frenklin Nigam (IANS TV), G.P.Selvam (CCTV), Prasanjit De (CTV), S.Rangabashiam (Doordarshan), Sanjay Singh (CNEB), Shishir Sinha (Hindu), Vinod Mishra (ANI), Vivian Fernadez (CNBC& TV 18) gave their suggestions on how to improve the education in electronic media also to make it more effective, practical and job oriented. They all highlighted the basic and major problems faced by the recruiting agencies. Many also shared their experience and narrated case studies of all that happened with them during their entry into the industry.

“I could only think about acting in films when I completed my course from AAFT-it gave me a new confidence, a full technical knowledge and highlighted my talent” said Uttar Kumar now the super star of Haryanvi Cinema. “I got my first chance in Dhakad Chhora which became super hit” added Uttar.

Asian Academy Of Arts Pays Tribute To M F Hussain

The staff and management of Asian Academy Of Arts, a body to promote art and culture in India associated with Asian Academy of Film And Television of Marwah Studios kept 2 minutes silence for the departed soul MS Hussain at Noida Film City.
“We all have felt a deep loss on the demise of our greatest, tallest and the most famous artist who has achieved the incomparable position in the field of Arts” said Sandeep Marwah the Chairperson of Asian Academy of Arts.
M.S. Hussain who was not well from last three weeks breathed his last at Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK. The whole country expressed the feelings on this unbearable loss. The 95 year old artist ranked among the finest painters of the World.
“M.F.Hussain is immortal and he is going to live on this earth for the next thousand years through his work of arts” Marwah added recollecting Hussain’s association with Indian Film Industry. The President of India Smt. Pratibha Patil, The Vice President of India M Hamid Ansari The Prime Minister of India Dr. ManMohan Singh also extended their heart felt condolences on the demise of internationally renowned painter of India.

The fifth Annual International summit on Entertainment and Media Industry is to be organized by one of the oldest chamber- ASSOCHAM. This grand event is once again planned in Delhi. AAFT Honored Alumni Lavlin Thadani With Academy Award
“AAFT is proud of Lavlin Thadani, a direction student of 9th batch (1995) who has done a commendable work in the field of films and television and added a colourful feather in the cap of AAFT” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Director of Asian Academy Of Film And Television on the inauguration of 70th AAFT festival of Short Digital Films.
Lavlin is a film-maker who is passionate about socially relevant issues, she has produced and directed about a hundred programmes, that include features, documentaries, docu-dramas and corporate films. A tele film titled Karrmawali represented India at prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Two films, Jeet and You be the sky…were selected for the 5th Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival held in New York 2005. You be the sky… was also selected by the jury for screening at ReelheART International Film Festival held in Toronto, Canada in 2006 and has been screened at the United Nations (New York) and in Indonesia at the Magsaysay Awards Ceremony. Jeet was selected for screening at the Nehru Centre, London in 2006.
“I am indebted to my Institution and my teachers who have moulded me to be a better film maker, I can never forget my days at AAFT. Sandeep Marwah’s motivational lectures are still fresh in my mind” said Lavlin Thadani.
Lavlin Has worked with some of the best directors of the Film Industry namely Lekh Tandon, M.S.Sathyu and Ved Rahi amongst others. She Pioneered the Breakfast show on Doordarshan and compered innumerable shows and interviewed dignitaries, famous personalities for Doordarshan and Moscow Television. Lavlin has worked as National Media Consultant with WHO and has been the member of The Film Censor Board of India in 2002-2003.

The Content Of The Film Matters- Malti Sahay At 70th Festival of AAFT
“The times have changed and cinema now can be seen in a digital format whether it on big screen, television, internet or mobile, it is the content- the story which matters and all starts from short films” said Malti Sahay the former Director, Directorate of Film Festival, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India on the inauguration of 70th AAFT Festival of Short Digital Films at Film City Noida.
“It has become custom with us to celebrate festival of short films every three months. This is the best platform for short films to showcase to the film lovers” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and of the festival for the 70th time adding another feather in the cap of Marwah by creating International Record.
Some of the films shown in the 70th festival were WHAT?ERR directed by Prashant Mathawan, THE PROMESSA by Shubham Bhatnagar, AAKHRI CHORI by Mohd Shahid, HUM APKE HAIN KAUN ? by Rahul Verma, THE CURSE by Anup Kumar & H. Narwal, THE DREAM by Arnab Bhattacharya and WHOSOEVER UR, BE PURE directed by Gaurav Bhalla.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Sudhir Tandon President Osian Film Festival Pratap Chakerbarthy representative of AFP, Mukesh Ranjan of Asian Age and Kalyan Sarkar Dean AAFT and all were presented life membership of International Film And Television Club. Later Sandeep Marwah honored Lavleen Thadani the student of 9th batch of AAFT with Academy Award on the completion of 100 projects on visual media.
Marwah Cricket Club (MCC) Had A Wonderful Beginning

A commitment to the students of Asian Education Group was fulfilled when Sandeep Marwah the President of Marwah Studios announced the inter college match on 28th of May with the launching of MCC ‘Marwah Cricket Club’ at Marwah Studios.
All the three schools Asian Academy of Film And Television, Asian Business School and Asian School of Media Studies created their own teams and a tournament of three matches was designed on that day. The Yellow color to ASMS, Navy blue to AAFT and White to ABS brought a wonderful color combination to the Noida stadium which was full of enthusiasm and feeling of success.
The three teams were lead by their captains Vivek Singh (ABS), Kunal Kalra (AAFT) and Varun Jhamb (ASMS) and further controlled by their team managers Sudhir Ranjan (ABS), Prabhat Shukla (AAFT) and Sushil Bharti for ASMS which all were centrally looked after by MCC Team Manager Mansoor Naqvi. The deans of all the three schools Kalyan Sarkar AAFT, OmGupta ASMS and Latika Sahani ABS played important role in motivating the players to be the part of the tournament. R.K.Singh Jt.Director of ASMS & new school Asian School of Communication looked after the administration of the show.
The match finished with the high tone of sports man ship and each team won one match. The three awards of ‘Man Of The Match’ were handed over to Chirag Mehra (ASMS) Ankit Bhatia (ABS), and Sumit Bhardwaj (AAFT) by Sandeep Marwah. The final selection will take place in due course of time.

Renowned Photographer of Bollywood and popular with all the Indian Film stars Vishal Saxena is on the faculty board of (AAFT) Asian Academy of Film And Television. “Vishal Saxena has brought a new excitement in the campus of Marwah Studios by adding portfolios of commercial level in the syllabus of Acting Course free of cost” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Director of AAFT.
Vishal Saxena who has been in Industry for many years has been instrumental in designing and preparing portfolios for many new comers who have been now big stars in the industry. Stars like Madhuri Dixit, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan, Kajol Devgan, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone, Kartina Kaif, Celina Jaitley, etc He is associated with number of glamour magazines Life Style, Models & Trends, Boating etc.
He has been a fashion photographer also. Jawaharlal Nehru Remembered On Death Anniversary At Film City

All the members of (JNF) Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Forum of Marwah Studios gathered at Noida Film City to remember the first Prime Minister late Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and to pay homage to the great international leader on his 47th death anniversary.
"Nehru was the architect of modern India. He nurtured the institutions in India on the path of democracy; he encouraged panchayat raj Institutions created Planning Commission, National Science Laboratories and laid the foundation of a vast public and private sector for developing infrastructure for industrial growth. Nehru planned many programs to promote education in India” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Chairperson of JNF.
A special debate program was planned by Asian Education Group where the students of AAFT, ASMS and ABS participated. The event was supported by International Public Broadcasting Forum, International Children’s Film Forum, International Film And Television Research centre and Radio Noida 107.4FM. Dance Workshop By Sanjay Yadav At AAFT

The management at (ASPA)School of Performing Arts of (AAFT) Asian Academy of Film And Television has always believed that special workshops with the students of Acting not only adds to their caliber but also make them active and smart with their personality.
“A special two week dance workshop by a talented Sanjay Yadav an expert of Dance and choreography has been organized which has pumped in a lot of enthusiasm in the students” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Director of AAFT.
Sanjay Yadav is already a teacher to Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Harman Baweja, Sameer Reddy, Vivek Oberoi and many established TV artists. Amongst the upcoming stars, he is teaching both of Shakti Kapoor’s kids, Siddhant and Shraddha Kapoor (of Teen Patti fame). also teaching Arjun Kapoor (Boney Kapoor’s son), Girish Taurani (Kumar Taurani’s son), Suraj Berry, Rajneesh Duggal, Ada Sharma and Kapil Chopra (B.R. Chopra’s grandson).
“I feel more responsible when I am at AAFT as I feel committed to film school where no stone is unturned to bring the results out of students with world class training and education” said Sanjay Yadav.
World Telecommunication Day 2011 Celebrated At ASMS

ASMS has been popular in designing programs on the right occasions to develop education through events, workshops, seminars, interactions etc.This time the students and the faculty of Asian School of Media Studies, Noida celebrated World Telecommunication Day at Marwah Studios at Film City on 17th May, which has already been declared as World Telecommunication Day.
“A word Telecommunication defines the complete connectivity of the World in itself. This epitome of technology, which started being used as a luxury is now the necessity of every individual” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Director of ASMS highlighting the importance of telecommunication.
