AAFT Going to Create New Record With 100th Batch

100th Batch of AAFT TO Be Launched Soon


New Delhi: The first private film school of India Asian Academy of Film And Television is going to create another international record on the launching of 100th Batch of trainees in last 25 years of its inception.

“22nd July 1993 AAFT started its first batch of education and training in films by enrolling 40 students from all over India in four different courses in Production/Direction, Editing, Camera and Acting. Now we have 40 courses in 10 colleges with almost 4000 students from all over the World,” expressed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT.

We are completing 25 years in education and 100th batch of short-term courses. AAFT has become an integral part of World Cinema. Where there is media there is AAFT. The institution has given largest number of celebrities to cinema industry,” added Marwah talking to the media persons.

“There is   lot in the box which we will open during the batch and this year. AAFT is now a family of 15000 media professionals,” thanked Marwah to all the members of the fraternity to support him for all these years.

Noida: The most popular film and Television training centre of the country of India – Asian Academy of Film And Television inaugurated its 99th Batch at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.

“We are one batch away from the Century, the excitement level has gone much higher. Many new ideas are prevailing in mind and heart. We have proved to the World that we are the best. Running 99 batches have given us a research content for 99 times. We have learned what is good what is not required. The success of our students is the clear proof,” said Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT as a opening statement of inaugural program.

“AAFT has brought the name of India to the highest level in film and television training. We are proud of Sandeep Marwah.  Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Award to Sandeep Marwah is the indication of quality in education,” said Dr. Yogendra Narain former Secretary Rajya Sabha, Government of India while lighting the ceremonial lamp.

“The growth of AAFT from single college to University is the measurement stick for the opinion makers to assess the quantity and quality of the success,” added Syed Shahid Mehdi the former Vice President of ICCR, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

More than 500 awards, chairing 100 organizations, 33 years in media, 25 years in training, It is hard to get a mentor like Marwah in film and television training. Students cannot imagine how expensive education is being delivered at no price. Indeed AAFT is the best and number one film school in the World,” said J.P. Singh Director India Skills Development Council.

Rajesh Bajaj Alumnus and writer director of feature film Hari Puttar, Seerat Raj Narindra renowned designer and Lotty Alaric presenter and actor Lok Sabha TV also spoke to the young students. The guests were amazed to see the facilities available at the campus. The 99th batch of short term courses has also added some new courses.

Inauguration of 96th Batch of Asian Academy of Film And Television




Noida: AAFT is the only institution in the World, which could start the 96th session of media training in a span of 24 years of its existence. It seems that we are in education and training for 96 years. It has made us one of the best film school of the World,” said Sandeep Marwah

“I have been noticing from years together the consistence growth of this marvelous institution way back from 1993. AAFT has become a brand in media education,” said Tanvir Zafar Ali from Indian Administrative Services, Government of India while inaugurating the 96th session at Noida Film City.

“The diplomatic community is impressed by the quality work Marwah Studios has put in in media education and developing strong relations between India and other countries especially Ecuador. We will take our relationship to new level from here,” added Patricio Garces Minister & Deputy Head of the Mission, Embassy of Ecuador in New Delhi.

“I am indebted to my institution, which has trained me so well and now I am the most popular journalist and filmmaker of Afghanistan. I am here to pay my gratitude to AAFT and specially to Sandeep Marwah for his continuous support,” said Mohibullah Hamid renowned journalist and former student of AAFT from Afghanistan.

An actor Najim Khan look a like of Salman Khan and Zubair Farghand renowned Producer from Afghanistan also spoke on the occasion and motivated the new batch of media students.

Later Sandeep Marwah presented the life membership of World Peace Development And Research Foundation of Marwah Studios to the distinguished guests.

AAFT Honored Alumni Lavlin Thadani With Academy Award




“AAFT is proud of Lavlin Thadani, a direction student of 9th batch (1995) who has done a commendable work in the field of films and television and added a colourful feather in the cap of AAFT” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Director of Asian Academy Of Film And Television on the inauguration of 70th AAFT festival of Short Digital Films.

Lavlin is a film-maker who is passionate about socially relevant issues, she has produced and directed about a hundred programmes, that include features, documentaries, docu-dramas and corporate films. A tele film titled Karrmawali represented India at prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Two films, Jeet and You be the sky…were selected for the 5th Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival held in New York 2005. You be the sky… was also selected by the jury for screening at ReelheART International Film Festival held in Toronto, Canada in 2006 and has been screened at the United Nations (New York) and in Indonesia at the Magsaysay Awards Ceremony. Jeet was selected for screening at the Nehru Centre, London in 2006.


“I am indebted to my Institution and my teachers who have moulded me to be a better film maker, I can never forget my days at AAFT. Sandeep Marwah’s motivational lectures are still fresh in my mind” said Lavlin Thadani.

Lavlin Has worked with some of the best directors of the Film Industry namely Lekh Tandon, M.S.Sathyu and Ved Rahi amongst others. She Pioneered the Breakfast show on Doordarshan and compered innumerable shows and interviewed dignitaries, famous personalities for Doordarshan and Moscow Television. Lavlin has worked as National Media Consultant with WHO and has been the member of The Film Censor Board of India in 2002-2003.

AAFT Attracting Students From All Over The World




Asian Academy of Film And Television has already been rated as one of the finest Media school in the World The education emphasis on 75 percent practical and 25 percent theory. They are the courses where you don’t need internship as courses have been designed in such a way that you can join the industry straight from the school.

Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Forum Joins Hand With 4th Festival Of Cellphone Cinema




Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Forum the newly constituted organization under the banner of Marwah Studios a creative Enterprises will also join hands with the 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema planned and designed for 14th and 15th of January 2011 at Noida Film City.

The Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru Forum has been created to promote the ideology of late Prime Minister of India—Progress and Prosperity, Promotion of Children, Participation and Cooperation and Positive Thinking. “ I have been a strong believer of this ideology and work on these terms” said Sandeep Marwah the Chairperson of Pt. Selection Of Kaun Banega Crorepati At Marwah Studios


The huge crowd was waiting for the gates of Marwah Studios to open on 4th September at Noida Film City where huge cutouts of Amitabh Bachchan were displayed in every corner of the studios changing the ambience to Crorepati grounds.

“I am happy to see educated and excited participants who all have come from far off places to get selected in this most interesting show” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and founder of Film City. “There is hardly a space left to park cars and two wheelers in the whole complex of film city” he added.

The phone lines for the fourth season opened on August 2, 2010 at 9 PM and Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in once again to host it. Though, Sony TV has yet not announced the day on which KBC 4 will go on air. It is believed that the show will go on air from October 11, 2010; which happens to be Amitabh's Birthday.

The show has now shifted from Star Plus to Sony Television but the faces behind the curtain will be same as Siddhartha Basu remains director and creative head. The new logo designed for KBC Season 4 incorporated The New Indian Rupee Symbol which was unveiled in the same year.

AAFT Launches New Courses In Films With Specialization




After completion of 18 years in Media, Film and TV education the management of Marwah Studios has decided to launch four new Post Graduate courses in Cinema. The courses are specializations in ‘Film Direction’, ‘Cinematography’, ‘Film Post Production’ and ‘Sound Engineering and Designing’. These courses are along with UGC approved Post Graduate Degree in Mass Communication, Advertising and Journalism.

“The courses have been designed by the experts of Indian Film and Television Industry.” said Sandeep Marwah, president of Marwah Studios and founder of Noida Film City. “There are very few seats in these four courses as the courses are very expensive and backed and supported by Indian Film Industry” Marwah added.

“We are more than satisfied with the training facilities at Asian Academy of Film And Television (AAFT), they know their job” said all committee members when they were approached to comment on these courses including David Dhawan, Basu Chatterrjee, Pankaj Parashar, Boney Kapoor, Ashok Tyagi, and Satish Kaushik.

AAFT and ASMS, Asian School Of Media Studies have proved to the Media World that good education can lead to success in the industry. Academy has the strongest placement cell and some of the finest film and television companies including Ekta kapoor’s Balaji Tele films, Shahrukhkhan’s Red Chillies, Anil Kapoor’s Productions, Boney Kapoor’s BSK Enterprises recently had campus interviews.

“Any sincere efforts into learning and education can never go waste” said Sandeep Marwah, the President of Marwah Studios while talking to the passing out students of 65th batch of AAFT Asian Academy of Film and Television on the day of Convocation at Marwah Studios who all were more than excited to receive their diploma of World repute.

“We have given you the best as far as your ambience, infrastructure, Equipment, curriculum, management, workshops, interactions, industry interface, visits, festivals, productions, campus interviews, grooming and other things are concerned, now its your chance to prove your learning and its utilization in the industry” added Marwah.

“More than 500 hours of education and training in each discipline in short term courses and 1800 hrs in one year can make you a good start in the film and TV industry” said R.K.Singh the former Engineer in Chief, Doordarshan. “We will be pleased to see your names in the credit list of TV programs and feature films that will be our reward” said Harshvardhan, the Course Director of AAFT.

Asian School of Media Studies Celebrated 5th Festival of Short Films




The Annual program of festival of short films was celebrated with great pomp and show.
“This is the best way not only to encourage students of the college but also to market their product” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios while inaugurating the 5th festival of short films directed by the students of ASMS.

The lamp was lighted by the students of ASMS breaking all the old traditions of the college. “We believe that students should be able to write, shoot, direct and edit their own programs when they are out of the institution” said Harshvardhan, vice President of ASMS. “We are keen in developing all facilities within campus so that our student of Cinema, Journalism, Multimedia and Electronic Media not only learn the best but give the best to industry” said R.K. Singh Dean ASMS.

“No media person can be successful unless he is disciplined himself” said Rahul Sehgal the associate dean of Cinema. “We are here to look after the needs of students who have been provided World Class infrastructure to direct these films” added A.K.Goorah, the HOD Cinematography. The Students of all streams were present to appreciate the films. The program was well covered by Radio Noida 107.4FM.

3rd International Festival Of Cell Phone Cinema 2010 Announced




International film and television club along with Asian Academy of Film and Television AAFT have decided to go ahead with the third International festival of mobile cinema at Marwah Studios in the third week of January 2010 informed Sandeep Marwah, the festival president.
“We are ready for the show again, idea is to promote young talent who are keen in expressing them selves through this cheapest mode of cinema that is mobile.” said Marwah announcing 3rd festival. There will be three categories of fiction and music video, reality or electronic media and still image. The total prize money will be around 2000 US dollars.
There are few rules of the competition, all entries to be created using a mobile phone. The entries should be original and not infringe on any copy right law. All work to be either uploaded on batchbuzz.com or the body of work can be sent on CD at the festival office—Marwah Studio, FC 14/15, Film City, Sector 16A, Noida 201301,U.P., India. The decision of the festival president will be final and binding to all the participants of cell phone cinema festival.
The film entries received from various countries will be judged by an international jury in New Delhi and the result for the 3 winner of the Cell Phone Cinema festival will be announced later .The list of the film entries, qualified for the finals, will be disclosed through the Internet.

Noida Gets Its First Radio Station

NEW DELHI: The Asian School of Media Studies owned by Marwah Studios head Sandeep Marwah, based in the film city Noida has been given permission to establish, maintain and operate a Community Radio Station. With this, the number of CRs will increase to 59 in the country.
The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has signed a Grant of Permission Agreement with the School and the Letter of Intent had been issued to the organization after recommendations of the Inter Ministerial Committee and seeking requisite clearances from various Ministries. The Community Radio Station is expected to be operational within three months as per the agreement.
The School has been interacting with not-for-profit organizations in Noida devoted to the welfare of underprivileged section of the local community. The underprivileged section of the society comprises of migrant labour working in the factories, business houses and petty shops as well as domestic help and rickshaw pullers etc. The School intends to lend valuable support to such organizations in their effort to help the deprived section of the society through radio broadcasts. CRS, will help the people in learning about pollution control in their surroundings, literacy programme in their area, general health and hygiene, health care of seniors and elders and traditional health tips.
The Ministry encourages setting up of the Community Radio Stations as CRS promises to provide an opportunity to the local communities to express themselves, and empower women. The main aim of starting the CRS is to provide different and useful information to the people in nearby villages.
Although community radios were allowed since April 2005, the Central Government in December 2006 had liberalized the Policy on Community Radio by bringing in the civil society and voluntary organizations, agricultural universities, ICAR institutions, Krishi Vigyan Kendras etc under its ambit. The policy was liberalized to allow greater participation by the civil society on issues of development and social change. Earlier, only educational institutions were permitted to launch community radio channels.

Asian School Of Media Studies ASMS Celebrates 2009 Convocation


The atmosphere was charged with emotion and excitement as the black caps were flung in the air amongst cheers at the Convocation at Asian School of Media Studies, one of the most prestigious and popular media colleges of the country. The students of Graduate and Masters studies of ASMS had gathered at the convocation to receive their Diplomas in their chosen stream of specialization. The Diplomas were awarded to the students from the Department of Cinema, Electronic Media, Mass Media and Multimedia. In his Convocation address given in his signatory poetic manner Prof. Sandeep Marwah, Director ASMS, said “No success can be achieved without a spirit of sacrifice. Life teaches you at every step and it is for you to learn from it and boldly face all kinds of circumstances and consequences”. The packed house of students was charged with emotions at these words. There was a sense of loss at leaving the college they had been so proud of.“We at ASMS give an all-round training and education to our students to secure their future. 63rd Festival Of Short Digital Films At AAFT

“It’s a great pleasure to see the creative product of young film makers .The film schools are nursery for film technicians”, said Vijay Goel, Chief Guest and former Union Minister, Government Of India while inaugurating the 63rd Festival of Short digital Films at Asian Academy Of Film And Television, Marwah Studios, Film City Noida. The festival is organized by International Film And Television Club [IFTC] and has 15 best films made by the students in the last batch of AAFT produced by Marwah Films And Video Production, a production house under the leadership of Sandeep Marwah.

“I had the opportunity to be in different countries of the World, but the kind of Film and TV education AAFT is providing in India, it is commendable.” Said Krishna V. Rajan, an IFS and former Ambassador to Nepal and Chairman of Universal Peace Federation [India Chapter].

“I am proud that I could create an International Record with the students of AAFT, and could produce 1500 short films with the young film makers of 70 countries of the World.” informed Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios.

The other speakers who spoke on the occasion were Vinod Zusti, a TV producer Director, Arun Kumar of International Sports Entertainment Ltd, Anoop Bhandari Editor Models and Trend, Kalyan Sarkar Dean AAFT. Later Sandeep Marwah presented Academy Award to Rajesh Bajaj the alumnae of AAFT from 6th Batch for his sincere contribution to Film and TV Industry. Rajesh Bajaj has been the director of more than 150 advertisement films, writer director of known film ‘Hari Puttar’,and now working in Hollywood with Oscar winning actor Helly Berry as writer/Director.

Media Is The Important Part Of Society-Naqvi

Narrating the consequences where by erasing one word from the speech or an interview the whole meaning can be changed, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi the former State Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Government Of India and now the Vice President of Bhartiya Janata Party expressed that, “media persons have to be more responsible in this age of growing media activities”. He emphasized the need of proper training for younger generation while inaugurating the 64th batch of Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida.

“The women of this nation has to come out openly and have to fight for her rights, media, film and television is the correct place for them,” said Mrs Suman Krishan Kant a renowned social worker of the country and wife of late Vice President Of India Shri Krishan Kant.

“Consumer is the most powerful part of all the businesses”, said Bejon Mishra who is the president of Federation of Consumer Societies in India called “VOICE.” He cautioned all the young film, TV and Media Students to get into the business keeping in mind the ultimate satisfaction of the consumer should be the targets of their all programs.

“We emphasized and amalgamate the Indian traditions and Culture into our syllabus as we believe that our culture has a very strong footings and can produce not only a better media person but a good human being from Asian Academy Of Film And Television (AAFT).” Said Sandeep Marwah the President of Marwah Studios and founder of Noida film City.

The other speakers who spoke on the occasion were Jiten Hazarika renowned painter and cousin of Bhupen Hazarika the recipient of Dada Sahib Phalke Award.Suresh Sharma the veteran Journalist and editor of Sandya Times of Times Of India Group. Later Chief Guest Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi presented “Academy Award” to Ranjan Arneja of 31st batch of Acting who has recently completed 900 episodes of ACP ARJUN on India TV and gained publicity through many other radio and TV programs .Marwah presented membership of International Film And Television Research Centre to the Guests.

Marwah Studios Will Host Global Festival Of Documentary Films

The enthusiastic staff and members of Marwah Studios took no time in deciding to host the next Global Festival Of Documentary Films to be held in July, 09.” Which place can be better than the Noida Film City and specially Marwah Studios which is the hub centre for film and tv persons and surrounded by the best film companies of the industry” said Sandeep Marwah, the Owner of Marwah Films And Video Studios.

Documentary Film Festival is going to be different as entries are invited from all over the World and there is three different categories of 10 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes .The members of International Film And Television Club have assured the prize of 5000 US Dollars for the best documentaries. A special cell has been created at Marwah Studios to provide complete infrastructure to the festival and specialized people have been appointed to look after the planning and execution of the project.
