The Content Of The Film Matters- Malti Sahay At 70th Festival of AAFT




“The times have changed and cinema now can be seen in a digital format whether it on big screen, television, internet or mobile, it is the content- the story which matters and all starts from short films” said Malti Sahay the former Director, Directorate of Film Festival, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India on the inauguration of 70th AAFT Festival of Short Digital Films at Film City Noida.

“It has become custom with us to celebrate festival of short films every three months. This is the best platform for short films to showcase to the film lovers” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and of the festival for the 70th time adding another feather in the cap of Marwah by creating International Record.

Some of the films shown in the 70th festival were WHAT?ERR directed by Prashant Mathawan, THE PROMESSA by Shubham Bhatnagar, AAKHRI CHORI by Mohd Shahid, HUM APKE HAIN KAUN ? by Rahul Verma, THE CURSE by Anup Kumar & H. Narwal, THE DREAM by Arnab Bhattacharya and WHOSOEVER UR, BE PURE directed by Gaurav Bhalla.

Others who spoke on the occasion were Sudhir Tandon President Osian Film Festival Pratap Chakerbarthy representative of AFP, Mukesh Ranjan of Asian Age and Kalyan Sarkar Dean AAFT and all were presented life membership of International Film And Television Club. Later Sandeep Marwah honored Lavleen Thadani the student of 9th batch of AAFT with Academy Award on the completion of 100 projects on visual media.

Results of 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema Declared




The 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema was a super hit not only with the film, television and Media students but also with the common men who were watching films with great interest held at Marwah Studios.

The results were declared in all the categories by the Chairperson of the jury Prof Karl Bardosh who specially flew down to Noida from New York. Speaking on the occasion Prof Karl gave the reference of the films made by his students of cinema at Tisch School of Arts at New York University. The Jury had Prof. kalyan Sarkar, Prof. Mansoor Naqvi, Prof. K.K.Pummi and Prof. V.S.Kanan.

The special jury award in Fiction Category went to film EHSAS by Nandan Ashish. Best Fiction to ‘SLUMDOG IN DANGER directed by Sonali Singh. The special jury mention for documentary ROUNDS ALL ROUNDS US directed by Kayyum Md. Harif Mistry and Best Documentary Award to TIRANGA directed by Kirtiman Singh. Best Message Category to THE GLIMPSES OF UNITY directed by Abhishek Kumar Maurya. Special Jury award in Best Massage category went to ROMANCING THE SKY by Varda Rizvi.

The First Award of still picture went to TARE ZAMEEN PAR by R.K.Shiva, Second to SOLITUDE by Hingul Dutta and Third to REVISITING POTHER PANCHALI by Shubra Ghosh. Special Jury Mention for still awarded to DREAMING EYES by Praveen Singh Chauhan, COMPLICATIONS by Vicky Khandur, MERA JAHAN by Manohar Rao and MEAL TIME FOR POOR & HUNGRY by Hemant. Every body was honored with the Award Certificates and the cash prize by Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.

Feature Film Coffee House Gets Space In 3rd Global Film Festival Noida




Critically acclaimed feature film with social theme and entry to 62nd Cannes Film Festival India Pavilion Coffee House found house in 3rd Global Film Festival Noida 2010 from 12th to 14th November at Noida Film City.

“I am pleased and excited that my film has been now the part of prestigious 3rd Global Film Festival focus on Children Films. The reality is that film is moving towards better society and gradually teaches you good culture discarding the bad ones” said Gurbir Grewal the director of the film

“The extraordinary performance of Ashutosh Rana and Sakhshi Tanwar teaches you the real Indian traditions. The subjects covered by Coffee House are now international” said Sandeep Marwah president of the festival.

Shivkala Motion Picture’s presentation Coffee House had bagged two awards during International Women Film Festival of India last year.

IFTC Announces 3rd Global Festival of Children’s Film 2010




The International Film And Television Club, a body conducting seminars, symposiums, national and international film festivals, interaction programs, cultural festivals now going ahead with the planning and designing of 3rd Global Festival of Children’s Film.

The earlier two were Global Festival of Films on Peace and Spirituality and Global Festival of Documentary Films. Both were super successful programs conducted by IFTC and the venue was Noida Film City.

This time also the venue will remain same. This festival has become the first International Film Festival of the city Noida. The film City at Noida is the fastest growing film city in the World spread out in almost 100 acres of land.

“We are happy that Noida Film City has been again finalized for the festival. Last year we saw 17 events in 3 days of Global Festival including screenings, workshops, openings, releases, seminars etc” said Sandeep Marwah Chairperson of International Film And Television Club.

The festival is going to be supported by many national and international organizations including Indo Wales Creative Forum, International Film And Television Research Centre, Indo Nigerian Film Association etc.

Asian Business School Will Manage 3rd Global Festival of Films

“This is the time when the business and management students of Asian Business School can show their expertise by managing this international event of 3rd Global Festival Of Films 2010 which is going to emphasize on Children’s Film” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and the GFF while talking to the administration of ABS at Noida Film City.

“We all are not only prepared but excited at ABS to participate in Global Festival of Films .The committees have already been framed to divide and subdivide the work” said Dr.Latika Sahani Dean Asian Business School.ABS is also inviting Oxford Business School, Oxford, United Kingdom to be part of the show.

“It is a golden opportunity for the students learning Media Management at ABS to organize and get associated with 30 events during three days of 3rd Global Festival of Films” added R.K.Singh festival Director and Dean Asian School of Media Studies who have been the former Engineer in Chief of Doordarshan.

Media Yog And Spirituality Together To Bring Peace




In a joint meeting of three International organizations Global Yog Alliance, World Religious Parliament and Asian Academy of Film and Television represented by their heads Gopalji, Acharya Satinder and Sandeep Marwah respectively, many new things have been finalized for the forth coming Global Yog Conference in the month of November this year.

The international tours of the organizational heads have convinced more than 70 countries to participate in this world Congress on Yoga. The three days event will take place at Gurgaon from 25th to 28th November. A large number of National and International organizations have already preparing for this powerful gathering. Many National Yoga setups, bodies, centers, associations have become part of the organizing committee.

“I am happy AAFT and Marwah Studios, our media family of 9000 people is now part of this international federation and working for the cause of Yog and spirituality” said Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios. “Many religious leaders have given their consent to be there on D day” said Acharya Satinder. “A centralized office in Delhi has been established to coordinate the work of this mega event” said Gopal ji.

Film Premiere By International Children's Film Forum




After the long tiring twelve working days of film learning, the kids were more than excited to look at their final product at Big-Cinema screen to celebrate the premiere of Children’s film at Noida jointly organized by International Children’s Film Forum and Cine Darbar for the who’s who of the city.

The films were produced by International Public Broadcasting Forum for the Children and Written, Acted and Directed by the young film makers themselves under the guidance of Supriya Suri, Anuj Malhotra and Nitesh Rohit of Cine Darbar. The film facilities were provided by Marwah Studios.

“We have to work a lot in this segment, where school students should understand the value of visual media, and use this medium not only to express themselves but also to uplift the society through better cinema.” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah studios, a creative enterprises and Chairperson of IPBF as well as ICFF while inaugurating the film premiere.

“I congratulate the young aspirants of film making, and wish them a bright future in this beautiful glamorous field of Cinema” said R.K.Singh Dean ASMS and Vice President of International Broadcasting Forum.

“I am impressed by the wonderful ideas these kids have generated, and their hard work can been seen through these films” said Gurbir Grewal, Jt. Director AAFT and Vice President of International Children’s Film Forum.

In total five films were screened and every director was given an opportunity to interact with the huge gathering in the hall .Later Sandeep Marwah presented certificates to all the participants.

Sandeep Marwah Honored With Rajiv Gandhi Global Award




Sandeep Marwah the President of Marwah Studios and Director of Asian Academy of Film And Television was honored with the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Global Award’ for bringing Indian Entertainment and Education to World map.

First he was honored at Budapest with Jiri Menzil and Istavain Zsoba, then honored at 33rd Cairo International Film Festival with Salma Hayek and Samuel Jackson, then he was honored in Belgium during 26th Mon’s International film festival de Amour. He is the first Media Person to be honored with a Degree in MBA from Oxford, ‘Ambassador of Peace’ from Korea, ‘Cultural Ambassador of Wales’ ‘Champion of Wales’ from Wales in total bringing a huge name and fame to India.

Sandeep Marwah is indeed an International Media Guru who has founded Noida Film City in 1988 and trained 7500 young aspirants of 73 countries of the World at his studios founded by him in 1991.Sandeep has created an International Record of producing 1600 the largest number of short films in the World.

Sandeep Marwah has created new media bodies on world basis including International Film And Television Club, International Film And Television Research Centre, International Children’s Film Forum and International Public Broadcasting Forum to fulfill the requirements of the society.

Marwah Studios Join Hands With Prayatn

Bhawani educational and children care society’s Prayatn is a social voluntary non-profit making registered organisation established in 1999, which is jointly and enthusiastically working nationwide for the upliftment of the deprived disabled, underprivileged and BPL children / people who are considered as a perpetual curse by their own kith and kin and then by the society.

“The present state of disabled in India is not very pleasing and the future too appears to be absolutely dark and bleak” said Sandeep Marwah president Marwah Studios and now the patron of ‘Prayatn’. “The disabled in the society is not treated as human being. They are considered as a perpetual curse by the community. The existing attitude of masses is increasingly isolating them from the main stream of society, until all concerned awaken and do some-thing to alter the present conditions and earnestly look after the interests of the disabled children” Marwah added while talking to the national press and media students at Asian Academy of Film and Television [AAFT].

“BECCS realized that with little intensive efforts these children and people could be a normal and self reliant citizen of a country in all means (i.e. socially, economically, physically and morally) we took a step in this direction as considering it is our social and moral responsibility to ameliorate the sufferings of the children.” Said Brijesh the president of the society.ICFF International Children's Film Forum will also support this cause.

Japanese Film Festival At Marwah Studios

“ It’s not only a film festival but a cultural exchange between two countries, the Japanese films today are representing my country in this campus of Media Professionals ” said Teriyuki Hoshini Director, Japan Foundation in India while inaugurating the two days Japanese Film Festival at Marwah Studios organized by Asian School of Media Studies.

The two days Japanese films Festival will show four films: High and Low- Akira Kurosawa, End of Summer – Yasujiri Ozu, Godzilla- Inshiro Honda and Kill directed by Kinchi Onomoto. The films represent the culture, tradition and heritage of Japanese cinema presenting the best in domain of film culture. The screening is also accompanied by workshops by Cine darbaar to bring a greater degree of understanding and know how of Japanese cinema.

Addressing to the large gathering of film, television and media students Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chairperson of International Film and Television Club, thanked the director of the Japan Foundation for the contribution towards this remarkable culture exchanged and presented him with the life membership of International Film & Television Club of AAFT.

Others who spoke on the occasion were Kalyan Sarkar, Gurbir Garewal, R.K.Singh and Harsh vardhan. The festival is dully supported by Radio Noida 107.4 FM, International Film & Television Research Center, International Children’s Film Forum and International Public Broadcasting Forum.

UCLAN Team At Asian School Of Media Studies

“It was just few months back we offered our training setup and practical syllabus to the University of Central Lancashire for the students of Journalism, Film and TV, I am happy that they are here in India on our Invitation” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and renowned media personality of this part of the World. “Not only they are learning but they are enjoying their training program” Chris Leonard added.

University of Central Lancashire is one of the most prestigious education centre of United Kingdom and on other hand Asian School of Media Studies an extension of Asian Academy of Film and Television is in media education for 18 years. They are the promoters and founders of World’s fastest growing Noida Film City. The institution is attracting students from 73 countries of the World. Global Yog Alliance Formed

The federation of yoga organizations in India and abroad join hands together to form an international body ‘Global Yog Alliance’ under the leadership of Yogshiromani Dr. Gopalji who has brought three important parts of the society that is Yog, Spirituality and religion, Film, TV and Media together for the first time on the same platform.

Some of the most important names from these segments of life .Anantshree Jagatguru Shankracharya Swami Madhawashramji Maharaj of Jyotimath, Anantshree Jagatguru Shankracharya Swami Onkaranand Saraswati Maharaj of Parmatamamath, Dr Acharaya Prabhakar Mishra President World Religious Parliamant, Acharya Satyaendra Narayan International Secretary General, Dr. Mufti M. Asian School of Media Studies Celebrated 5th Festival of Short Films




The Annual program of festival of short films was celebrated with great pomp and show.
“This is the best way not only to encourage students of the college but also to market their product” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios while inaugurating the 5th festival of short films directed by the students of ASMS.

The lamp was lighted by the students of ASMS breaking all the old traditions of the college. “We believe that students should be able to write, shoot, direct and edit their own programs when they are out of the institution” said Harshvardhan, vice President of ASMS. “We are keen in developing all facilities within campus so that our student of Cinema, Journalism, Multimedia and Electronic Media not only learn the best but give the best to industry” said R.K. Singh Dean ASMS.

“No media person can be successful unless he is disciplined himself” said Rahul Sehgal the associate dean of Cinema. “We are here to look after the needs of students who have been provided World Class infrastructure to direct these films” added A.K.Goorah, the HOD Cinematography. The Students of all streams were present to appreciate the films. The program was well covered by Radio Noida 107.4FM.

AAFT Join Hands With First Pravasi Film Festival


The capital is set to host Pravasi Film Festival 2010 Jan 3-6 next year. Films made by Indians living abroad or made outside the country will be showcased at the fest in its first edition. President of Mauritius Sir Anerood Jugnauth unveiled the awards that will be given away at the festival. “I am proud to be associated with this event” said the President of the Republic of Mauritius.
It is being organised by the international bi-lingual monthly Pravasi Today in collaboration with the India Habitat Centre (IHC) with the support of the Mauritius High Commission in India and Asian Academy Of Film and Television (AAFT). Around 20 films will be screened at the gala including ‘Monsoon Wedding’, ‘New York’, ‘99′, ‘The President Is Coming’ and ‘Inner World of Shah Rukh Khan’.
“Films made by Yash Chopra and Sippy Productions will also be screened during the festival .Cinema personalities like Sharmila Tagore, Adhoor Gopalakrishan, Sohal Ali Khan, Amrita Rao, Prakash Jha, Karan Razdan, and Satish Kaushik are expected to attend the four-day event” informed Sandeep Marwah, the president of Asian Academy of Film And Television. “We will give complete media and technical support to the festival” Marwah added.
The first ever Pravasi Film Festival will honour veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey with the lifetime achievement award for his contribution to cinema, said Anil Joshi, the Festival Director.
We are working mainly on the identity issues of the diaspora this year. IFTRC Promoted Documentation Centre At Global Festival Of Films 2009



Some of the finest documentary films were screened during the day followed by the release of set of seven technical books on film making prepared by the documentation department of International Film And Television Research Centre of Marwah Studios on the first day of 2nd Global festival of Documentary films 2009 at inaugural dinner at Noida Film City.

Basu Chatterjee, Pankaj Parashar, Manoj Pahwa together released the set of books at the glamorous evening supported by the presence of media, film and tv personalities.” I am pleased that the organizers have not forgotten the importance of film and tv education even during this glamorous and happening evening, I endorse the idea of Global Festival of Films” said Basu Chatterjee .”Releasing book is no less than a step towards spirituality, I am elevated by this gesture” said Pankaj Parashar. “I must carry these books and study them I will gain knowledge” said Manoj Pahwa.

The president of the festival Sandeep Marwah spoke about the International Film and TV Research Centre and the festival director Suman Bajaj Kalra paid vote of thanks.
