World Youth Skills Day Celebrated at AAFT University


AAFT Chancellor Spoke on World Youth Skills Day


New Delhi: “We are one of the oldest schools of skill development in India, it is now 27 years we have been training students to learn the skills related to films, television, media, fashion, design, animation, hospitality, tourism, still photography, journalism, PR Events and Advertising, performing arts, fine arts and management. We had realized much earlier that without knowing the arts and crafts of these businesses youth will not be able to sustain in this field of competition,” said Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University and Ambassador of IHRO in a webinar addressing youth of the country.

The World Youth Skills Day is an opportunity for young people, technical and vocational education and training institutions, and public and private sector stakeholders to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship.

“World Youth Skills Day 2020 today is being celebrated in a challenging context. The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown measures have led to the worldwide closure of technical and vocational education and training institutions, threatening the continuity of skills development. We are devising new methods of training and have to adopt them till Corona Virus is out of our daily routine exercises,” added Dr. Marwah who is also Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations.

AAFT University has launched new courses and revised old courses to suit to the current environment of Covid 19.

World Consumer Rights Day Celebrated at AAFT School of PR Events & Advertising

Noida: World Consumer Rights Day is an annual international event that signifies celebration and solidarity in the international consumer movement, demanding that, consumer rights are to be respected and protected.

The event also gives a chance to protest against the market abuses and social injustices which undermine those rights. Each year, World Consumer Rights Day adopts a theme to highlight. This year the theme promoted is "The Sustainable Consumer".

“In order to protect the planet and provide fair social conditions for current and future generations, we need to think about the way we produce and consume goods and services,” reminded Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT School of PR Events And Advertising talking to the young entrepreneurs in making at Noida Film City.

 “The aim of sustainable consumption is to increase resource efficiency and fair trade while helping to alleviate poverty and enable everyone to enjoy a good quality of life with access to food, water, energy, medicine and more,” added Dr. Marwah highlighting the World Consumer Rights Day, which falls on 15th March every year.

International Day of Action For Rivers Observed at Marwah Studios




Noida: “The International Day of Action for Rivers is a day dedicated to solidarity – when diverse communities around the world come together with one voice to say that our rivers matter,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of World Peace Development And Research Foundation and Ambassador of International Human Rights Organization affiliated to United Nations at a small event at Marwah Studios Film City Noida.

“The reality is communities having access to clean and flowing water matters. That everyone should have a say in decisions that affect their water and their lives. That it’s our time to stand up for these rights, now more than ever,” added Dr. Marwah also Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations

The International Day of Action for Rivers 2020 theme is “Women, Water, and Climate Change”.


Dr. Sandeep Marwah and his organizations are continuously working on two major projects that is Clean Ganga and now Clean Yamuna. Workshops, seminars, talks, interaction programs, painting competitions, allocations, recitations, writing competitions etc. are being organized to sensitize media organizations, the students of schools and colleges all over the State of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

International Human Solidarity Day Observed at Marwah Studios

 Noida: The United Nations' (UN) International Human Solidarity Day is annually held on December 20 to celebrate unity in diversity. It also aims to remind people on the importance of solidarity in working towards eradicating poverty.

“On International Human Solidarity Day, governments and Social Bodies are reminded of their commitments to international agreements on the need for human solidarity as an initiative to fight against poverty. People are encouraged to debate on ways to promote solidarity and find innovative methods to help eradicate poverty,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah Patron to IFUNA-Indian Federation of United Nation Associations and WPDRF-World Peace Development And Research Foundation.
 
Activities may include promoting campaigns on issues such as: banning land mines, making health and medication accessible to those in need, relief efforts to help those who suffered the effects of natural or human-made disasters, achieving universal education and  fighting against poverty, corruption and terrorism,” added Sandeep Marwah while talking to the media students at Asian Academy of Film And Television and releasing the poster.

International Day Against Drug Abuse Observed at AAFT University


Poster Released at International Day Against Drug Abuse


Noida: The General Assembly decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.

Supported each year by individuals, communities and various organizations all over the world, this global observance aims to raise awareness of the major problem that illicit drugs represent to society. Known singer Ashok Masti released a poster on this occasion.

 “This year's theme highlights that justice and health are two sides of the same coin when it comes to addressing drug problems,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations in a press meet at Marwah Studios.

“Effective responses to the world drug problem require inclusive and accountable institutions of criminal justice, health and social services to work hand in hand to provide integrated solutions, in line with the international drug control conventions, human rights obligations and the Sustainable Development Goals,” added Dr. Marwah while addressing the students of AAFT University.

International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence Observed At AAFT

Noida: AAFT University of Media And Arts believe in propagating all the social causes, which United Nations has marked on specific days, and support UNIC- United Nations Information Centre from last few years. A very important event of International Day for the Elimination of  Sexual Violence was observed at   the campus by releasing the poster of the same.

The term “conflict-related sexual violence” refers to rape, sexual slavery, forced prostitution, forced pregnancy, forced abortion, enforced sterilization, forced marriage and any other form of sexual violence of comparable gravity perpetrated against women, men, girls or boys that is directly or indirectly linked to a conflict.

“The term also encompasses trafficking in persons when committed in situations of conflict for the purpose of sexual violence or exploitation,” informed Sandeep Marwah Ambassador of IHRO affiliated to United Nations and Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations.
On 19 June 2015, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 19 June of each year the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, in order to raise awareness of the need to put an end to conflict-related sexual violence, to honor the victims and survivors of sexual violence around the world and to pay tribute to all those who have courageously devoted their lives to and lost their lives in standing up for the eradication of these crimes.

Noida: countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day. The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.

“Blood is an important resource, both for planned treatments and urgent interventions. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions live longer and with a higher quality of life, and supports complex medical and surgical procedures. Blood is also vital for treating the wounded during emergencies of all kinds and has an essential, life-saving role in maternal and perinatal care,” said Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT, Patron to IFUNA and Ambassador of   IHRO affiliated to United Nation while talking to students at Marwah Studios

“A blood service that gives patients access to safe blood and blood products in sufficient quantity is a key component of an effective health system. Ensuring safe and sufficient blood supplies requires the development of a nationally coordinated blood transfusion service based on voluntary non-remunerated blood donations,” added Rajiv Anchal renowned film maker and sculpturist from Kerala.

A Poster Was Launched On World Bicycle Day at AAFT


Noida: All the directors of different schools of AAFT joined hands together to celebrate the World Bicycle day on 3rd June as recommended by United Nations in a joint meeting of    faculty at Asian Academy of Film And Television at Marwah Studios.
 
“The bicycle is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation; The bicycle can serve as a tool for development and as a means not just of transportation but also of access to education, health care and sport, “ said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Global Ambassador of IHRO affiliated to United Nations highlighting the needs of celebrating bicycle day.

“The synergy between the bicycle and the user fosters creativity and social engagement and gives the user an immediate awareness of the local environment, The bicycle is a symbol of sustainable transportation and conveys a positive message to foster sustainable consumption and production, and has a positive impact on climate,” added Dr. Marwah also Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations.

AAFT encourages Member of AAFT to adopt best practices and means to promote the bicycle among all members of society, and in this regard welcomes initiatives to organize bicycle rides at the national and local levels as a means of strengthening physical and mental health and well-being and developing a culture of cycling in society.

World Telecommunication Day Celebrated at Marwah Studios

Noida: World Telecommunication Day (WTD) has been celebrated annually on 17 May since 1969. The date marks the anniversary of the founding of ITU on 17 May 1865, when the first International Telegraph Convention was signed in Paris. In 1973, the event was formally instituted at the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference in Malaga-Torremolinos, Spain. A poster was launched at Marwah Studios to mark respect to this day.

“The purpose of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day is to help raise awareness of the possibilities that the use of the Internet and other information and communication technologies can bring to societies and economies, as well as of ways to bridge the digital divide,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations.

World No Tobacco Day Observed at Marwah Studios

Noida: Every year, on 31 May, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global partners celebrate World No Tobacco Day (WNTD). The annual campaign is an opportunity to raise awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second-hand smoke exposure, and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form.

“The focus of World No Tobacco Day 2019 is on "tobacco and lung health." The campaign will increase awareness on the negative impact that tobacco has on people’s lung health, from cancer to chronic respiratory disease and the fundamental role lungs play for the health and well-being of all people.,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios while releasing the poster at Asian Academy of Film And Television.

The campaign also serves as a call to action, advocating for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption and engaging stakeholders across multiple sectors in the fight for tobacco control.

Noida: “International Labour Day — also known as May Day or International Workers' Day — celebrates the struggle, dedication and commitment of the working class and is an annual public holiday in several countries. While many of us know it as an extra off day at work, very few are aware of its origins,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah Ambassador of International Human Rights Organization affiliated to United Nations while talking to the young aspirants of media at Asian Academy of Film And Television.

“The genesis of this day is in the labor union movement in the United States in the 19th Century, when industrialists exploited the labor class and made them work at least 15 hours a day. The movement involved protests that delivered a strong blow to the cycle of exploitation and made eight-hour working days a reality,” added Dr. Marwah who is also patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations.

International Day of Sport for Peace Celebrated At Marwah Studios


International Day of Sport For Development And Peace Celebrated

Noida: “Sport as a universal language can be a powerful tool to promote peace, tolerance and understanding by bringing people together across boundaries, cultures and religions,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Global Ambassador of IHRO affiliated to United Nations at the event to celebrate International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.

 “Its intrinsic values such as teamwork, fairness, discipline, respect for the opponent and the rules of the game are understood all over the world and can be harnessed in the advancement of solidarity, social cohesion and peaceful coexistence,” added Dr. Marwah also Patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nations Associations.

“Sport programmes permit encounters on neutral territory and in an environment where aggression can be controlled, regulated and transformed and hence facilitates rapprochement and reconciliation between opposing parties,” said Alex Teodorescu a film maker from Romania at the function while releasing the poster to mark respect to the day.

“Although sport alone cannot stop or solve an acute conflict, it represents a flexible and cost-effective medium for post-conflict relief work and peace building as well as conflict prevention,” said Andra Axentoi film promoter from Romania at Marwah Studios.

“Sport is also an important enabler of sustainable development. We recognize the growing contribution of sport to the realization of development and peace in its promotion of tolerance and respect and the contributions it makes to the empowerment of women and of young people, individuals and communities as well as to health, education and social inclusion objectives,” a message by Secretary General United Nations read by Sudhir Ranjan of AAFT University of Media And Arts.

World Wild Life Day Observed at AAFT


Noida: Dr. Sandeep Marwah has been patron to IFUNA- Indian Federation of United Nation Associations. He has been also part of United Nations Information Center’s activities therefore he makes it a point to celebrate all the important days designed and fixed by United Nations.

Present on the occasion Ambassador of Bosnia And Herzegovina Muhamed Cengic, renowned Kathak Dancer Guru Kcalpana Bhushan and popular spiritual and aryuvedic leader Yogi Dr.Dushyant released the poster as a part of moral responsibility of every one to protect wild life on this mother earth.

“I am very much concerned about the quality of life we are spending on this earth. We will loose the charm if there is no wild life,” said H.E. Muhamed Cengic Ambassador of Bosnia.

“We have added Wild life photography as a part of the course here in Asian Academy. Noida: “Languages are the most powerful instruments of preserving and developing our tangible and intangible heritage. All moves to promote the dissemination of mother tongues will serve not only to encourage linguistic diversity and multilingual education but also to develop fuller awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the world and to inspire solidarity based on understanding, tolerance and dialogue,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and World Peace Development And Research Foundation at the poster release to celebrate the International Mother Language Day declared by United Nations.

Languages, with their complex implications for identity, communication, social integration, education and development, are of strategic importance for people and planet. Yet, due to globalization processes, they are increasingly under threat, or disappearing altogether. When languages fade, so does the world's rich tapestry of cultural diversity. Opportunities, traditions, memory, unique modes of thinking and expression — valuable resources for ensuring a better future — are also lost,” added Dr. Zoltan Wilhelm -Cultural Councellor and Director Hungarian Information & Cultural Centre addressing the media persons.

World Day of Social Justice Celebrated at AAFT


Noida: Social Equality Justice day is a day recognizing the need to promote efforts to tackle issues such as poverty, exclusion and unemployment Marwah Studios recognized the need to make statements on the importance of social justice for people. A poster was released at AAFT to observed World Day of Social Justice.

Many organizations also present plans for greater social justice by tackling poverty, social and economic exclusion and unemployment. The United Nations General Assembly has decided to observe 20 February annually, as the World Day of Social Justice

Ideal topics for teaching students about the need for social justice include childhood poverty, global citizenship, human rights, and sustainable development. A series of lessons are delivered at Asian Education Group to create awareness,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Patron to IFUNA, Ambassador of International Human Rights Organization and President of World Peace Development And Research Foundation.

New Delhi: A get together was organized by IFUNA-Indian Federation of United Nation Associations to bid farewell to Al Amin Yusuph of UNESCO at India International Centre.

Srivastava Secretary General of IFUNA, Sandeep Marwah of ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry, Satish Kapoor of  WECARE and Deepak Parvatiyar  Media Advisor to IFUNA were also present there.

 “Al Amin Yusuph has been an Information and Knowledge Management Expert with more than 20 years experience in knowledge and Information Management, Media Development and use of new media for development accumulated at a national and international level,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah Ambassador of International Human Rights Organization, Patron of IFUNA and President of World Peace Development And Research Foundation.

The international organizations that he had worked for includes the British Council, CIDA and UNESCO. Al-Amin has also worked as a Board Member for the School of Librarianship and Documentation Studies and the Tanzania Media Foundation.

He has been behind several new rural communications projects because of his keen interest in using communication for development and communication for gender equality and women empowerment especially for the marginalized communities and the economically challenged citizens living in the rural areas.

Liberation Day of Cuba Celebrated at ICMEI

 Noida: ICMEI- The working team of ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry in association with AAFT- Asian Academy of Film And Television celebrated the 60th Liberation Day of Cuba at Marwah Studios.

“On January 1, Cubans marked National Liberation Day. Some 60 years back, the revolution led by Fidel Castro and his rebel army defeated the last Cuban capitalist government and drove the nation's fate along a new path: Socialism,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Chamber to the media professionals gathered to participate in the event.     

“I extends my heartiest congratulations to the people of Cuba on their 60th Liberation Day on 1st January and pray for stronger and lively relation between two countries,” added Dr. Marwah while releasing the goodwill poster.

Independence Day of Haiti Celebrated at Marwah Studios



National Day of Haiti Celebrated at International Headquarters of ICMEI


Noida: The staff of ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and AAFT celebrated the National Day of Haiti at their International Headquarters at Noida Film City.

“We extend our heartiest congratulations to the people of Haiti on their National Day and look for much stronger and better relations with India in the coming years,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President ICMEI while releasing the poster of friendship at Marwah Studios on 1st January.

Prior to the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, India sent 140 troops from the Central Reserve Police Force to serve in the United Nations Mission in Haiti in August 1995. The Indian contingent was tasked with providing police protection and maintaining law and order in the country, and served until the end of the mission in June 1996. Diplomatic relations between Haiti and India were established on 27 September 1996.

New Delhi: A grand get together to celebrate the United Nations Day was held at United Nations campus at Lodi Estate on 24th October and Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios &  Patron to IFUNA-Indian Federation of United Nation Association was the special guest at the event.

The United Nations on Wednesday dedicated its iconic campus in Delhi to India's cultural heritage as its office in the city marked the UN Day with a dazzling display of the country's tangible and intangible cultural heritage.

Yuri Afanasiev, UN Resident Coordinator in India, hailed India's cultural diversity and said, "I personally have a love affair with India, its rich taste, colours, sounds, smells and food."
Welcome to the UN House and thank you for joining us to commemorate UN Day — the 73rd anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter. As one of our founding members, it is also the 73rd year of India's membership of the UN, a country which has been one of the UN's strongest allies," Afanasiev said.
