Renowned Filmmaker Ujjwal Chatterjee Visits Marwah Studios, Honoured with Life Membership of IFTC

Noida: Acclaimed National Award-winning filmmaker Ujjwal Chatterjee, a celebrated director, screenwriter, and storyteller from the Bengali film industry, visited Marwah Studios and was warmly received by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University.

During his visit, Ujjwal Chatterjee was conferred with the prestigious Life Membership of the International Film and Television Club (IFTC) for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.

Ujjwal Chatterjee is best known for his powerful and socially driven films such as SwabhoomiUthhaanEscape From Taliban, and Kalratri. He has also made notable contributions as a screenwriter for SwabhoomiBhollu Sardar, and Escape From Taliban, films that have left a lasting impact on both audiences and critics alike.

Street Play by AAFT Cinema Students was a Big Hit During Global Festival

Noida: The AAFT School of Cinema organized a street play on social issues during all the three days of 11th Global Festival of Journalism at Marwah Studios, that received appreciation from all who witnessed it. The play was a collaborative effort by the students, who wrote, directed, and performed the play themselves.

The play addressed a range of social issues, such as gender inequality, domestic violence, and environmental degradation, using humor, and drama to drive home important messages. It was an engaging and thought-provoking performance that left a lasting impact on the audience.

“The street play also highlighted the power of art and performance in bringing about social change. Through their play, the students were able to raise awareness about important social issues and inspire the audience to take action,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT.

Powerful Workshop by Devendra Raj Ankur at AAFT School of Cinema

Noida: A workshop by renowned theatre artist and former Director of National School of Drama Dr Devendra Raj Ankur was planned for the students of AAFT School of Cinema during the orientation program of new session of AAFT 2022 at Marwah Studios Noida Film City.

Theatre is the platform where you can experiment ample. Though you do have limitations but the level of confidence it provides to the actor is beyond explanation. Passion for any creative art will take you to heights. Continuous efforts are required to prove your talent. There is no alternate to hard work. The more you do, the more you want to learn all these creative arts. You should be anxious all the time to learn more,” said Dr Devender Raj Ankur while talking to the young aspirants of AAFT.

We are happy to have with us Dr Ankur who has been a MA in Hindi Literature from Delhi University. Diploma in Drama Arts with specialization in Direction from National School of Drama informed Dr Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and AAFT.

Dr Ankur has been a Senior Drama Instructor of Bal Bhavan, New Delhi. He is also the Member of National School of Drama, a guest faculty in theatrical literature and direction at Bhartendu Natya Academy, Lucknow. He is the Professor of Indian Classical Drama and Aesthetics, founder Member and Principal Director of ‘Sambhav’, New Delhi. He has presented over 400 stories, 16 novels and 60 plays across India and abroad with various amateur and professional troupes.

Later Dr Sandeep Marwah honored Dr Devendra Raj Ankur with the life membership of International Film and Television Club of Asian Academy of Film and Television.

Mumbai: The first poster of forthcoming 14th Global Film Festival Noida 2021 was released    here by the renowned film personalities in a grand function organized by the Chairman of Coordination Committee of ICMEI- International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, Mumbai & film producer Rajeev Choudhary at Celebration Club in Mumbai.

Films are the best way to capture the art and culture and are also the ambassador of culture of any country, whereas the festivals are the marvelous way to showcase the same. We have been conducting large number of festivals round the year but the most famous is Global Film Festival Noida. GFFN has become popular after IFFI changed its base to Goa from Delhi,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and GFFN in a function to release the poster.

The poster was jointly released by renowned actor Shakti Kapoor, Krushna Abhishek, Payal Ghosh and film director Rahul Rawail. “We are proud of Marwah Studios for conducting so many festivals round the year and inviting film makers from all over the World. It is the real international integration,” said Rahul Rawail. “It will be great to be the part of the festival this time,” added Krushna Abhishek.

The festival is going to be from 2nd to 4th December 2021.  The presence of Secretary General ICMEI & film director Ashok Tyagi, film producer Mann Singh, Shwetchandra Kanchan Bhor, Kamlesh Sawant, AAFTian Z.M.Shah, Zeisha Nancy, Jaganath Waghmare and Akram Khan added a lot to the occasion.

Online Convocation of School of Cinema at ASMS 2020

Noida: Asian School of Media Studies Department of Cinema conducted its Convocation for 2020 online and granted Awards and diploma to the students learning and specialising in Acting & Presentation, Writing & Direction, Lighting & Cinematography, Editing & Postproduction and Sound Engineering for the year 2017-2020 Undergraduate courses and 2018-2020 Post graduation Courses.

“My heartiest congratulations to everyone on this powerful spiritual International Yoga Day when you all are graduating from Asian School of Media Studies after completing your rigorous and tough courses in creative arts. I wish you all a very bright and rich career in life,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts motivating outgoing students of ASMS.

“Life is nor bed of roses. You have seen the worst part of life because of this pandemic. Northing can be more tough than this. Not only that institution has given you clearance to industry even these circumstances have also passed you in your life examination. There is no alternate to hard work. Never ever mis any small or big opportunity to meet at least once who has invited you. Update yourself by reading, learning and be aware of state of art equipment. Good attitude will create a wonderful place for you in this creative industry,” added Marwah during his convocation speech.

Major Academic awards were also announced while giving prestigious diploma of ASMS to the students of Cinema which included Sri Suraj Prakash Marwah Memorial Award  to Mukul Pandey B.Sc Cinema 2017-2020 and Swapnil Keshri of M.Sc Cinema 2018-2020,  Srimati Sheela Marwah Memorial Award to Rajsi Rajesh Chauhan of BSc Cinema 2017-20 and Jaya Banerjee of M.Sc Cinema 2018-2020.

Krishika Lulla Spoke on Films to AAFT Cinema Students


New Delhi: “Cinema is the biggest form of entertainment. As you deal with it you grow with it. It is the real ambassador of culture of any country. Cinema production may look easy but its important to learn about it before hand. The art and science go together in this expression. You need to research the need of the people before you invest money in films. The story is the king in film making,” said Krishka Lulla of Eros Group while answering the questions of students from AAFT School of Cinema.

“We are amazed to see the involvement of Krishika in film production, which is not an easy job. She has a wonderful experience in Cinema and also a brilliant expression to explain to students. We feel honored in presenting award  to Krishika for her outstanding contribution to Cinema,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media Ans Arts.

Krishika is known for her films like Anjana Anjani, Toonpur Ka Superhero, Chalo Dilli, Desi Boys, Raanjhanaa, Bajatey Raho, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Happy Bhag jayegi in Hindi and Phuntroo in Marathi.

Later Sandeep Marwah honored Krishika Lulla with The Award For Global Excellence As A Film Maker In Cinema And Digital Medium on behalf of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry.

Noida: A well-known actor Adil Hussain shared his vast experience of film business with the cinema students of AAFT School of Cinema at Marwah Studios Film City Noida.

“Sincere efforts and continuous persuasion will get you job in the industry. An attitude to learn is the key to growth. Never loose heart, if not today tomorrow you will be appreciated for your hard efforts,” said Adil Hussain.

WE are very thankful to Adil Hussain for his contribution and speaking his heart out. He has won the heart of cinema students,” said Sandeep Marwah.

Adil Hussain is an Indian stage, television and film actor from the state of Assam, who works in mainstream Bollywood as well as art house cinema. He has worked in international films like The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Life of Pi and he received the Special Jury Award at the 2017 National Film Awards. He has acted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Malayalam, Norwegian and French films.
