AAFT Celebrates Rajat Arora’s Success At Apsara Awards


This is not the first time that the alumnae of Asian Academy Of Film And Television has been appreciated at National Level for their creativity in the field of films and television, when Rajat Arora got his APSARA AWARD for BEST SCREEN PLAY for ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI in the auditorium full of who’s who from Indian Film Industry at Mumbai during the sixth edition of the award ceremony constituted by Film And Television Producers Guild.

“We are proud of Rajat Arora who has added another feather in the cap of the institute, and made us feel that good education and hard work will never go waste” said Sandeep Marwah Director of Asian Academy Of Film And Television appreciating the writing caliber of his student.

The other nominees for the same category of Best Screen Play were Anjum Rajabali & Prakash Jha for Raajneeti, Habib Faisal for Band Baaja Baraat, Vishal Bharadwaj, Abhishek Chaubey & Sabrina Dhawan for Ishqiya, Abhishek Sharma for Tere Bin Laden, Kanu Behl & Dibakar Banerjee for Love Sex Aur Dhokha.

Rajat Arora has been in Industry for many years now and has written some of the best projects for the entertainment world including ‘Ahhsas’, ‘Blue’, ‘Chandni Chowk to China’, ‘ Kabhi Bhi Kahin Bhi’, ‘Taxi No 9211’, ‘Hattrick’ , ‘Bluff Master’, ‘Family Ties of Blood’ etc.

3rd Global Film Festival Noida 2010 With Focus On Children’s Film




The International Film And Television Club of Marwah Studios has planned its third edition of Global Film Festival Noida 2010 from 12th to 14th November at its campus in Noida Film City with focus on Children’s Film.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India is supporting the festival through its Directorate of Film Festival (DFF), Children’s Film Society India (CFSI) and Film Division who all are participating through their films.

International Children’s Film Forum(ICFF), International Film And Television Research Centre (IFTRC), Indo Wales Creative Forum (IWCF), Indo Nigerian Film Association (INFA), Indo Sudan Cultural Forum ISCF), Indo Peru Cultural And Film Forum (IPCFF), World Religious Parliament (WRP), Global Yog Alliance (GYA), PHD Chamber of Commerce, Indo American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Film and Television Producers Guild (FTPGI), Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA), Film Federation Of India (FFI) are part of the film festival this time.

Festival has seven segments including International Cinema, Films from Asian Academy of Film And Television, Asian School of Media Studies, Films on the issue of Disability, Films on Children by professional film makers, Films made by Children and Competitive Section numbering to more than 150 films this time with 12 presentations.

39 events have been designed during three days including 3 seminars, 3 workshops, 3 book releases,2 new film releases, 3 exhibitions, daily bulletin,3 networking lunches, 3 gala dinners, 3 launching of forums, 3 inauguration of films, Market section, formal inauguration and closing function, 3 stage programs, 3 mini festivals of AAFT, ASMS and Documentary Film makers etc.

Sandeep Marwah Invited The Team Of Feature Film Wanted


The cast and crew of the most awaited feature film WANTED visited the biggest film school of the country to interact with the film, TV and Media students at Noida Film City. “I am proud to be associated with Asian Academy Of Film And Television,” said Boney Kapoor the producer of film Wanted “I have always planned at least one schedule of all my films at Marwah Studios” he added.

“I am already a member of the council of AAFT, for me its like coming home” said Sajid khan of Sajid Wajid fame, the music directors of the film who were accompanied by the Director Prabhudeva the renowned Dance Director who did not directed any of the dances rather passed on the job to Vaibhavi Merchant.”I wanted to concentrate on direction this time for my debut in Bollywood, no doubt Dancing is my first love” Prabhu added. He is now the most wanted director.

“The film is the copy of a Telgu Film POKRI but has been changed to suit the image of Salman Khan and the taste of the audience” informed Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and founder of Noida Film City while handling the bubbling young crowd of AAFT and ASMS.” We believe in students interaction with the industry “ Marwah added.

The super star of the Indian Film Industry Salman Khan was passing electric attraction, and the young audience could not control the excitement of being with this International star for the evening that he not only entertained but gave his magical and mesmerizing performance on stage.” I am playing the role of Radhey , a hardcore gangster, a sharp shooter who falls in love with young and pretty Jhanvi played by Ayesha Takia Azmi.” said Salman Khan who has also sung a song in the film.

“The film is a combination of all good music, dances, comedy, emotions, its an action movie which will see Salman in ultimate action hero” said Prabhudeva. The film is presented by Surinder Kapoor, Executive producer Arjun Kapoor, First AD Raghav Marwah, also have Mahesh Manjrekar Aseem Merchant.

Entertainer Number One-David Dhawan


“In this tense system of our daily routine, we all need entertainment and there is no other source better than watching feature films, which is easily available and is economical” said David Dhawan the renowned film Director of popular films like Biwi Number One, Partner, Mujhse Shadi Karogi, Ankhe, Raja Babu, Coolie Number One and many more while talking to the students of Asian School Of Media Studies, Asian Academy Of Film And TV and Asian Business School in the Master Class at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.

Davin Dhawan was greeted by the president of Marwah Studios Sandeep Marwah who introduced him to the excited, charged and large gathering of students, Media Persons and film makers present to listen to David’s experience of Indian Film Industry. ”Who can tell us better than David about Film Industry who has dealt with every actor, producer, music director, artist and technicians in his 42 feature films” said Sandeep Marwah.

His classmate, Film Director and Dean Cinema, Asian School Of Media Studies Ashok Tyagi, recollected their days of struggle in Mumbai when they were looking for their first major projects. “This is one industry where first you have to deserve then you have to desire.” said Ashok Tyagi. “Film Business requires deep interest, sincere efforts and continuous persuasion to get success, and David is the real example of the same.” added Ashok Tyagi.

The HOD Cinema ASMS Rahul Sehgal could not resist mentioning that “David Dhawan has today created a separate School Of Thought in Indian Film Industry. Later Sandeep Marwah the founder of Asian Education Society honored David Dhawan with ACADEMY AWARD and presented him with the life membership of International Film And Television Research Centre. The event was followed by the question answer session by the students of Cinema.
