ICMEI Invited Big Wigs of Bollywood to speak on Mental Stress


ICMEI Webinar on Creative People And Mental Stress


New Delhi: International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry in association with Asian Academy of Film And Television conducted a powerful webinar on ‘Creative People And Mental Stress’ and invited wigwigs of Indian Film Industry to talk on the subject.

“How creative we may be but do not forget that we all have heart and mind to think and  feel the emotions. Where there is emotion stress is going to be the byproduct of the same. Stress is bound to be there. The art is in managing and controlling the stress,” initiated Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Asian Academy of Film And Television.

“Higher the stake bigger the stress, If you are not even working  still there is a stress. If you have achieved something then there is a new stress of achieving more. The fact is you have to learn the ways and means to tackle your irritations, anger, anxiety parallel to every project you lift in creative industry,” said Uday Shankar Pani renowned film director famous for Gandhi, Shalimar and TV Serials like Rajani, Indradhanush, Dekh Bhai Dekh etc.

“We are human beings and bound to get stressed for small or big things. Film and Television business is full of tensions and botherations. Time factor also plays a very key role. The pleasure of end product is so powerful that even though you know there is a stress, you jump into the same pool again and again,” said Ketan Mehta renowned film director and known for his films Manji, Mangal Pandey, Maya Memsahab, Mirch Masala, etc.

“If you try to bring in change in your day to day affairs it reduces your stress. Meditation is the best way to gain strength to face stress. A good stress sometimes is good as it gives you motivation and energy to work hard and reach your goals,” added K.Hariharan popular Film educator and director.

Living Style, your demands, your company, your routine, your exercise all together measure your stress level. It is an inbuilt component of human mind. You have to practice of not getting into the stage where stress could harm your mind and body,” expressed Dr. Nabhit Kapur well known psychologist and founder of Peace of Mind Foundation.

Cannes: “It is not only important but essential to high light India- the biggest film industry of the World. We make 2000 films in 28 official languages. 12000 theatres and approximately 15 million people watch cinema every day. We sell 5 billion tickets in a year. You can imagine the size of the industry,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry talking to international press at India Pavilion at Cannes International Film Festival, France.

The Minister of State, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore at Cannes International Film Festival inaugurated the India Pavilion on the second day of festival.

Situated at the picturesque seaside shoreline adjacent to the gigantic Palais des Festivals building, the India Pavilion is an essential and crucial corner where the hundreds of Indian film professionals can gather to make their presence felt and also where people from abroad interested in India can converge to cement their business needs in India.

Renowned film director Rahul Rawail, Ketan Mehta and film consultant Bhuvan Lal were also present with Sandeep Marwah at the India Pavilion at Cannes Film Festival.

National Seminar On Cinema At Asian School Of Media Studies




“India is the largest film producing country in the world. More than 900 films are produced in 28 languages .There are 13000 theaters in the country and 10 million people watch cinema every day. We sell 3 billion tickets every year, largest in the World.” introduced Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Director of Asian School of Media Studies as the opening statement of National seminar on Cinema at Noida Film City.

“We are proud film makers of this country, we have given some of the finest films to the nation even without the availability of any extra ordinary techniques earlier” said Ketan Mehta popularly known for his films like Bhavni Bhavai, Holi, Mirch Masala, Hero Hiralal, Maya Memsahab, Sardar, Aar Ya Paar, Mangal Pandey, Rang Rasiya etc.while inaugurating the seminar at ASMS.” The changes in Indian Cinema can be condensed to the changes in techniques, the contents and the presentation” Mehta added.

Writer, Director Shakeel Shamsi of Sahara emphasized on the requirements of the good subjects and scripts. “The changing perception of masses and their expectations plays a vital role in finalizing the subject” he added. R.K.Singh Dean ASMS conducted the program.

Others who spoke and covered the different subjects on Cinema were Gurbir Grewal Dy Director AAFT known for films Mannat and Coffee House, A.S.Bedi writer of feature film Silsala, Ashok Tyagi Dean Cinema & popularly known for his films Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, Return of Jewel Thief, Ardh Satya, Satha Se Uthta Admi, Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kuyun Aata Hai, Surkhiyan etc.

Rahul Sehgal, Dr. Om Gupta, Deepti Pant also spoke their point of views. Later Sandeep Marwah honored Ketan Mehta with the life membership of International Film And Television Club of ASMS. The seminar ended with intelligent question answer session by the media students from all over India and abroad.
