National Tourism Day Celebrated at Asian Institute of Tourism


New Delhi: “India is a diverse nation and it offers several forms of tourism including cultural, Film, nature, heritage, educational, sports, rural, eco-tourism, etc. This diversity of India makes it a prime attraction for tourists,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Asian Institute Hospitality and Tourism at the meeting of tourism giants at Hotel Taj Mansingh on the occasion of    National Tourism Day, which falls on 25th January.

“ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry in association with NFTC- National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India Limited have created 196 International Committees and 543 National Committees on tourism and deeply working on the promotion of tourism in India,” informed Sandeep Marwah.

More than 600 students from the school of Cinema, Mass Communication & Journalism and Fashion & Design supporting department of tourism in ICMEI. Large number of workshops, seminars, talks, road shows, research works, tours, and festivals have been added to the whole affair of tourism,” said Sandeep Marwah.

“We all are very positive as we are sure that Indian tourism will grow many folds in time to come. Tourism in India has the potential to promote faster, sustainable and more inclusive growth. It could be used as a powerful antidote to tackle poverty,” expressed Marwah.

Kochi: The Managing Director of National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India Limited Dr. Sandeep Marwah reached Kochi to study the prospects of tourism in the city.

Kochi- Cochin is called the "Queen of the Arabian Sea", Kochi was an important spice-trading centre on the west coast of India from the 14th century onward, and maintained a trade network with Arab merchants from the pre- Islamic era.

Kochi was occupied by the Portuguese in 1503, it  is the first of the European colonies in colonial India. The city was later occupied by the Dutch and the British, with the Kingdom of Cochin becoming a princely state.

“Kochi ranks first in the total number of international and domestic tourist arrivals in Kerala. The city was ranked the sixth best tourist destination in India according to a survey conducted Kochi is known as the financial, commercial and industrial capital of Kerala. It has the highest GDP as well as the highest GDP per capita in the state,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah also President Asian Institute of Hosptality And Tourism while talking to the press at Hotel Holiday Inn Chakkaraparambu Junction, National Highway Bypass, Vennala, Kochi, Kerala.

Kuala Lumpur:  The Managing Director of National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India Sandeep Marwah visited Kuala Lumpur Malaysia on the invitation of Malaysian Government.

Kuala Lumpur is the national capital and largest city in Malaysia. As the global city of Malaysia, has an estimated population of 1.80 million. Kuala Lumpur is the cultural, financial and economic centre of Malaysia. It is also home to the Parliament of Malaysia and the official residence of the Malaysian King  (Yang di-Pertuan Agong), the Istana Negara.

“Tourism plays an important role in the city's service-driven economy. Many large worldwide hotel chains have a presence in the city. One of the oldest hotels is the Hotel Majestic. Kuala Lumpur is the sixth most visited city in the world, with 8.9 million tourists per year,” informed Sandeep Marwah at a press meet at Hotel The Ritz Carlton.

Tourism here is driven by the city's cultural diversity, relatively low costs, and wide gastronomic and shopping variety. MICE tourism, which mainly encompasses conventions— has expanded in recent years to become a vital component of the industry, and is expected to grow further once the Malaysian government's Economic Transformation Program kicks in, and with the completion of a new 93,000m2-size MATRADE Centre. Another notable trend is the increased presence of budget hotels in the city.

Noida: The second session of the National Summit on Tourism at Marwah Studios had a wonderful theme of Uniting Asian Countries through Tourism. The delegates from all over India participated in the session.

J.P.Singh Director India Skills Development Council, Beni Prasad Agarwal Chairperson Association of Asian Union, Former Governor of Mizoram A.R. Kohli, K.K.Kumar Vice President AAU, J.S. Saluja General Secretary AAU and Gourang of  National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India Limited were the main speakers. Anoop Saxena Director Asian Institute of Hospitality and Tourism paid vote of thanks.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah informed the house that, ”we are the only institution in the country who have so far announced 162 international scholarships to students from all over the World, 162 Joint ventures in making of short film, 162 radio programs on Radio Noida and 162 TV programs for MSTV to bring the World closer’.

“It has been twenty five years since we have started Asian Group, an idea behind this name was to bring Asian Countries closer through art, culture and tourism,” added Dr. Sandeep Marwah.

Later Sandeep Marwah presented the memento of the summit to every guest and the session was closed after the interaction and question answer round with the audience.

Noida: A grand event to celebrate Tourism of India and to discuss the prospects of tourism in relation to rest of the World, a National Tourism Summit was organized by International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry in association with Asian Institute of Hospitality and Tourism and Association of Asian Union at Marwah Studios at Noida Film City.

The summit was inaugurated by the former Governor of Manipur H.E. Vinod Kumar Duggle, former Governor H.E. Amolak Rattan Kohli along with L. P. Potsang President of Global World of Music And Arts Organization, Subhash Goyal President of All India Travellers Agent Association, Padma Shri Bharati Shivaji renowned dance exponent of Mohiniyattam and Dr. Beni Prasad Agarwal Chairperson Association of Asian Union.

“We are associated with tourism since we are in cinema. Twenty-five years back we gave a new word of Film Tourism to the English dictionary, it has become one of the most popular words in tourism industry now. Marwah Studios has attracted two million people in all these years under film tourism,” initiated the summit by Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.

“India has grown much bigger In Tourism Industry in last few years. We have grown from six million to ten million tourist in last few years but still a lot has to be done to attract many countries,” said Subhash Goyal veteran of tourism industry.

L.P.Potsang and Padamshri Bharti Shuvaji touched the subject of culture whereas Governor Vinod Kumar Duggle expressed the need to bring in changes in day-to-day affairs to make tourism industry more vibrant. Governor Kohli introduced some new ideas to make Indian Tourism more popular within country and with foreign Nations.

The first session finished with question answers. Later Sandeep Marwah honored the guest with memento and life membership of International Film And Television Club of AAFT.

New Delhi: The members of Association For Asian Union & Asia Pacific Cooperation met at India International Centre to give their consent to the forth coming International program and summit on tourism.

“We have created some interesting and powerful committees which can bring unity and closeness between the Asian countries that includes education, media and entertainment, Hospitality and tourism, art and culture, environment and other businesses. This time we are organizing a summit on tourism,” said Sandeep Marwah President of AAU & APC.

“We will be calling delegates from Asian countries, Embassies and United Nations, Tours and travel business, Hospitality and tourism schools, transport agencies including airlines, intellectuals, media persons and people from all strata of life,” added Marwah.

National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India Limited, Asian Institute of Hospitality and Tourism are going to be the main sponsors of the show. The summit will take place at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.

 Tourism is vital to Manhattan's economy, and the landmarks of Manhattan are the focus of New York City's tourists, enumerating an eighth consecutive annual record of approximately 62.8 million visitors in 2017

 “According to The Broadway League shows on Broadway sold approximately US$1.27 billion worth of tickets in the season, attendance in stood at 12.21 million, As of June 2016, Manhattan had nearly 91,500 hotel rooms, a 26% increase from 2010,” informed Sandeep Marwah President of Asian Institute of Hospitality And Tourism talking to press at Hotel 48Lex at 48th Street Lexington Avenue during his visit to New York.

 “Major destinations include the Empire State Building, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island, Broadway theatre productions, Central Park, Times Square, Coney Island, the Financial District, museums, sports stadiums, luxury shopping along Fifth and Madison Avenues, and events such as the Tribeca Film Festival, and free performances in Central Park at Summerstage and Delacorte Theater,” added Marwah also Managing Director of National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India. 

 Many New York City ethnic enclaves, such as Jackson Heights, Flushing, and Brighton Beach are major shopping destinations for first and second generation Americans up and down the East Coast.

ICMEI Announced Study Tour to Malaysia

“A study tour of 30 people comprising of professional media persons and media students has been planned for four days at the most reasonable price so that maximum people can take the benefit of this gesture extended by   NAI- News Paper Association of India,” said Vipin Gaur Secretary General of NAI.

On this occasion Sandeep Marwah President ICMEI, Pankaj K Singh IRS Commissioner Taxes Noida, Gurang from Tourism Industry and Ashok Tyagi Secretary General of ICMEI launched the poster at Marwah Studios.

We are trying to promote our relations with Malaysia under Indo Malaysia Film And Cultural Forum. I am sure this tour will bring some new results in our friendship,” said Sandeep Marwah.

Sandeep Marwah Visited Ras Al Khaimah in UAE

Ras Al Khaimah: Ras al Khaimah is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The city has two main sections, Old Ras Al Khaimah and Nakheel, on either side of a creek.

“Ras al-Khaimah is becoming a new destination on tourist maps. Ras al-Khaimah is home to some of the best chains in five star hotels and beach resorts,”said Sandeep Marwah President of Asian Institute of Hospitality and Tourism talking to press at Hotel Woldoff Astoria.

 Ras al- Khaimah has a number of 4 and 3 star accommodations. Lately first water park Ice Land was opened to offer leisure opportunity for both residents and visitors and more new tourism projects are under construction. NFTC- National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India Limited will prepare a report on this upcoming city.

The UAE culture mainly revolves around the religion of Islam and traditional Arab culture. The influence of Islamic and Arab culture on its architecture, music, attire, cuisine and lifestyle are very prominent as well.

First Hospitality And Tourism Mela at AIHT

Noida: Asian Institute of Hospitality and Tourism organized the first fair at the campus to show the strength of the college and deep passion of the students.

“We are not very old but the kind of display and presentation today I have seen in this campus has given blood to turn this institute to one of the best in the country in no time,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Asian Education Group at the inauguration of mela at sector 5, Noida.

We have worked for ten days and brought all our resources together to make it a very exclusive one. Every student of hospitality and tourism has participated in one or other way today,” said Anoop Kumar Saxena Director Hospitality and Tourism.

The mela consisted of nine different food stalls prepared by students, an exhibition on Indian tourism, five different themes of restaurants decorations and interiors, a poster launching, an interaction with faculty and workshops.

The whole day affair was well accepted by the students of other colleges and departments. The event was supported by ICMEI – International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and NFTC- National Federation of Tourism And Transport Cooperatives of India Limited.
