Biju Patnaik Awards for Peace by Aks Society at New Delhi


New Delhi, 28-04-2023: On the 26th death anniversary of great Indian Leader “Bhumi Putra Sh. Biju Patnaik”, Aks Society Delhi organized Bhumi Putra Honourable Biju Patnaik International Peace Awards 2023 at Kaveri Kala Sangam, New Delhi. Aks Society is a Delhi based non-Profit Organization headed by the renowned Classical Odissi exponent, Actress, Choreographer, Social Worker Dr. Chandana Raul.

The prestigious award was conferred upon 10 highly successful personalities from different fields with national and international repute who have made extraordinary achievements in their respective arenas : Major-General P. K. Saigal veteran from forces, Dr Chitra Mudgal writer,  Ranjan Kumar Das IAS, H. E. Mossi Nyamale Rosette Ambassador of DR Congo to India, Dr Darmayasa, President of the International Divine Love Society, Malta, Inderjeet Sharma Director, International Hindi Association USA,  Pandit Tilak Raj Sharma Memorial Trust USA,  Namrata Chadha, Eminent Women Rights Activist, B. L. Gaur, Eminent Author, Anand Prakash Singh,  Announcer and Writer from Mumbai,  and Dr Gaurav Gupta Founder President of Global Trade and Technology Council of India.

A galaxy of renowned dignitaries of national as well as worldwide recognition were present during the event including Shri Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios, Dr. Ashish Kandhaway (Director, Swami Vivekanand Cultural Center, Myanmar, Shri Rajesh Mahapatra, Editor, PTI, New Delhi, Prof (Dr) Diwakar Sukul, Founder/Director, The Kamkus Clinic, London, Dr Satnam Deuchakar, CEO Deuchakar trust global Executives Director business development Royal Family UAE, Zena Chung, Founder and Director of Korea-India Business and Culture Forum and Prof Haritma Chopra, Principal, Maitreyi College, University of Delhi.

The event started with the singing of the National Anthem followed by an Odissi dance, which was a tribute by Dr Chandana Raul to Shri Biju Patnaik. Following this, there was the presentation of an Armenian dance by Anna Norik Hosepyan, Armenia, a Bharatnatyam dance showcased by Nritya kalp Dance Academy, New Delhi and a Contemporary dance put forth by students of the Dancing Life Academy, New Delhi.

The audience were awestruck by the global representation of the various dance forms, thoroughly enjoying the vibrancy and exuberant performances put forth by all the dancers.

The learned dignitaries and delegates expressed their heart-felt respect and gratitude to the great leader “Bhumi Putra Sh. Biju Patnaik”, by expressing their thoughts on the visionary ideas that he had with regards to the modern state and how his contributions managed to reach out to people internationally, thereby connecting the world globally.

The event came to a close by the vote of thanks which was offered by Dr. Chandana Raul, Chairperson of Aks Society, New Delhi. She narrated her struggles from a small, infamous district, Koraput, Odisha and how she dedicated her life to the art of Odissi dance to date. She says, such award ceremonies are a token of gratitude to those individuals who are evermore involved in the process of contributing to the betterment of society as a whole. Sandeep Marwah also spoke on art and culture.
